Why I love This Cover:
I love reading from this author, and when I saw this cover, I knew I needed to get my hands on it. Sometimes I like the older covers more than the more modern ones, but it just depends on the book and author, this cover is so stimulating with promises of sensual embraces and passionate nights. Yummy!!!

Here are a few books that are on my wishlist:
Hush Hush
For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

  My Dangerous Duke

Grace Carlyle's world was about to change . . .

Blog Tour: Pack Of Lies by Vanessa Vaughn

This Book Review is part of the Blog Tour of Pack of Lies by Vanessa Vaughn
Pack of Lies
Vanessa Vaughn
Ravenous Romance
M/M Paranormal Romance
166 Pages
ISBN: 978-1-60777-339-9

Synopsis:
When Jack is attacked by a powerful werewolf one moonlit night, his world is forever changed.

Marcus is that wolf, the strong leader of his pack, who never imagined a mere mortal could ever escape him, much less ever become one of his kind. And yet, as time passes, he can't deny the handsome human is slowly beginning to change.

No longer the civilized architect he used to be, Jack feels a new power coalescing inside of him. He barely even recognizes himself as he becomes more sexual, more impulsive, more wild in every way.

But as the bite transforms him, it also binds he and his attacker together forever. The two share a powerful unbreakable link, no matter how forcefully they may each try to deny it.
Marcus is already hiding secrets from the other wolves, and his position as Alpha is threatened. Could Jack be the new ally Marcus needs to set things right, or will their desire for one another draw them away from all they know and alter the course of their lives forever?

My Review:
Pack Of Lies is about two young men that meet in certain circumstances that they never suspected. Jack a human is with his girlfriend driving, when they hit a "bump" in the road, and find a creature that they had hit. Then Jack to see if the creature is alright, and is then attacked by a wolf. Then heads home, but he knows that there has been something totally out of character since that night. He feels a strange connection to someone that he doesn't even know. Marcus, the Alpha of his wolf pack, is struggling to hold onto his position, and trying to hide the fact that he is attracted not only to women, but men as well. As Alpha it is forbidden to feel such attraction, but he can't deny it to himself. Then one night when he attack a certain human male, he knows that things are different. As Marcus goes about trying to bring both Jack and his friend integrated into the pack, however things never goes as planned as he starts to figure out just as he learns that love is the most powerful force out there, and how important it is to grow together with that love.

This is first erotic M/M romance that I have read, and although it wasn't what I expected, it was still a good read, and I am so grateful that this author asked that I review this book of hers. I also loved how each of these two men grew and learned things about themselves that they would never had discovered if they hadn't discovered each other. Marcus having to be a rough strong figure, finds a gentleness about himself when he stumbles on Jack. Jack learns about a inner part of himself that is full of nature and strength that he never thought he had within himself until that one night he was attacked. I loved the plot for the most part of this book, it was riveting and exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat anxious for what was going to happen next. The sex scenes in this book was very heated to the point of explosive that will heat the blood of any warm blooded reader.  Although I enjoyed reading it, the ending seemed not enough for me. I felt like there should have been a bit more than there really was, but for the most part I truly enjoyed reading Pack of Lies, and I again want to say thanks to this author for allowing me the privilage of reading such a well written romance.

Trailer:

Exerpt (Page 1):

     The moon.

That soft sensual glow is always with me. Even when I can’t see the night sky, I feel its dark caress.

As the moon’s phases change, it breathes a coy suggestive whisper in my ear. It presses close, and I feel its fingers brush my skin. That light sparks something inside of me. Something primal. It starts a fever somewhere deep and spreads like slow-burning fire through my limbs.
I can always sense the Change starting. The full moon’s strong hand curls around my throat. I feel its grip tighten like a man’s thick fingers on my neck. When that grip makes me suddenly lightheaded, my pulse quickens, and I sink quietly to my knees. I know I have to give myself over, and I know how impossible it is to resist.
Some humans dream about submission. They crave it, complete with soft tortures and the smooth caress of expensive leather. They want to be bound and made to feel wonderfully, blissfully helpless. They enjoy feeling compelled to give in.
Humans like to play with their toys.
But what do they know about pleasure and pain so naturally intertwined?
When the animal in me takes over, I feel sensations more intense than any whip could offer. My teeth descend to sharp lethal points against my tongue, and I feel the lovely, horrifying ache as bones lengthen and skin is stretched.
But that ache only makes me smile.
In that instant of agony, my instincts wash over me like a hard drug flooding my veins.
Desire takes over—the desire for sex and for the hunt—obscuring all logical thought, all worries, absolutely all guilt. I feel ecstasy as I flex my teeth and claws. I feel a need building urgently and unstoppably between my legs with an intensity that few experience.

So, you see, as the gut-wrenching agony of the Change grips me, so does the all-consuming pleasure.
Perhaps that is why we wolves prefer our hunts so vicious.
     And our sex so rough.

My Review:
Butch O Neal is a ex cop and the only mortal a part of the Brotherhood circle. Butch after certain events being brought into the Black Dagger Brotherhood, fell in love with a woman, who has held his heart ever since he met her. Now not having her in his life, he still feels the loss. Then when he leasts expects he he gets kindapped by some lessers and by the Omega. After the Omega opens him up and puts a part of himself into Butch, Butch knew he would never be the same ever again. He is then found by his friends of the Brotherhood, and taken to a doctor, since it is obvious to all that he has been changed. And there is only one person that can truly help him now....his lost love Marissa where only her love will save him, and take them on a journey that will change both of their lives for all time.

This is one of my favorites of this series so far, from the first pages, I was entranced. I have always wanted to read Butch's story, and now that I have, I am so glad that I did read his story. I loved this story where Butch finds a inner strength within himself that he never expected was there. Where the only one that truly saved him was Marissa, whom he has loved truly. Marissa is a vampire and has always feared hurting Butch. But when she is summoned to his side, she realizes how much Butch means to her. As their reconnect with one another, they will discover that their love is enough to give them strength to last all the struggles they will face as long as they face them together. This was a truly intense but emotional love story, that is a real treat to read.

Book Review-Bed Of Roses

Bed Of Roses
Bride Quartet(2)
Nora Roberts
Berkley,
335 Pages
Published November 2009
Contemporary Romance
ISBN: 978-0-425-23007-7
Synopsis:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts cordially invites you to meet childhood friends Parker, Emma, Laurel, and Mac - the founders of Vows, one of Connecticut's premier wedding planning companies.

Since she was a little girl, Emma Grant has always loved romance. So it's really no surprise that she has found her calling as a wedding florist. She gets to play with flowers every day and work with her three best friends in the process. She couldn't ask for a better job.

And on the surface, Emma's love life seems to be thriving. Slim and sultry, she brings color into every room she enters, just like the arrangements she creates. Men swarm around her, yet she still hasn't found Mr. Right. And the last place she's looking is right under her nose.

But that's just where Jack Cooke is. He's been best friends with Parker's brother for years, which makes him practically family. The architect has begun to admit to himself that his feelings for Emma have developed into much more than friendship. And whn Emma returns his passion - kiss for blistering kiss - things start to get complicated at Vows.

Jack has never been big on commitment. Emma yearns for a lifelong love affair. If the two are to find common ground, they must trust in their history - and in their hearts..

My Review:
Emma Grant is one of the four women of the Bride Quartet, who started the wedding business "Vows", Emma's special talent is the floral side of weddings. Emma has a love and passion for anything that grows, and to make anything beautiful for the bride. Emma is one of those women, that attract men like bees to honey. However she is pretty picky, and is looking for love and marriage and a family and the "happily ever after" that she has always dreamed of. When her close friend Parker, whom she has known close to forever, kisses her one night, and a passion flares up surprisingly between them, she knows in her heart that she could definitely fall in love with him. Parker has always had a woman on his arm, but never a strong serious relationship that lasts. Ever since his parents got divorced, he has a fear of a woman coming into his home and taking over. However he always has had a thing for Emma, and when he kisses her one night, he knows things between them will never be the same. For their is a pulling force that he can't deny with her, and he knows he never would want to live a life without her, but the road is bound to get rocky with these two. One wanting a long term love, and the other wanting something just temporary; but sometimes love has different plans.

Well I have to say that I truly enjoyed reading the second one of the Bride Quartet of Nora Roberts, and if the rest of the series is as good as these two books that I have read so far, it will be no doubt my favorite series of hers. My heart just swarmed to this couple, especially to Emma. Emma is such a sweet loving woman, who only dreams of finding love and marriage and a happily ever after. Since her parents have had such a great marriage, she wants the same. However, she never thought that she would fall in love with the one person she knows is the least committed person when relationships are involved. However she just decides to enjoy the moment, and though she knows she is falling for him, she doesn't want to ruin what they have quite yet. Parker however is totally opposite when a woman is involved, but with things progressing with Emma he denies to himself what he truly feels with her, and what he wants with her for the rest of his life. There is a bit of a rocky road ahead for these two, but its a enjoyable and satisfying story and very emotional especially toward the end, that I definitely had to get a box of tissues. I don't know if its better than the first one, but I think they are on the same level, although I have to say that I love this couple a bit more. I also enjoyed the emotional side of this tender love story. I am so glad that I have finally read this one, and I recommend it to anyone that likes a good emotional love story.

My Craving For The Week:

His old friend James Malory will sponsor her in polite society. Gabrielle is escorted to balls and parties by James's wife, Georgina, and her brother, Drew Anderson, a dashing American sea captain and fun-loving rogue. But as passion runs high on their sea voyage, it becomes difficult to tell who is truly the captor and who is the captive.

Why I liked This Cover:
Well this is probably one of my favorites of Johanna Lindsey, I mean I can hardly resist such a delicious specimen all tied up for my pleasure? Things definitely get heated between these two!

Book Review-Vision In White

Vision In White
Bride Quartet (1)
Nora Roberts
Berkley,
325 Pages
Published Apr 2009
Contemporary Romance
ISBN: 0425227510

Synopsis:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts cordially invites you to meet childhood friends Parker, Emma, Laurel, and Mac - the founders of Vows, one of Connecticut's premier wedding planning companies.

After years of throwing make-believe weddings in the backyard, flowers, photography, desserts, and details are what these women do best: a guaranteed perfect, beautiful day full of memories to last the rest of your life.

With bridal magazine covers to her credit, Mackensie "Mac" Elliot is most at home behind the camera - ready to capture the happy moments she never experienced while growing up. Her father replaced his first family with a second, and now her mother, moving on to yet another man, beg Mac for attention and money. Mac's foundation is jostled again moments before an important wedding planning meeting when she bumps into the bride-to-be's brother...an encounter that has them both seeing stars.

Carter Maquire is definitely not her type: he's stable, and he's safe. He's even an English teacher at their high school alma mater. There's something about him that makes Mac think a casual fling is just what she needs to take her mind off dealing with bridezillas and screening her mother's phone calls. But a casual fling can turn into something more when you least expect it. And with the help of her three best friends - and business partners - Mac must learn how to make her own happy memories..

My Review:
Mackenzie "Mac" is a wedding photographer, part of a quartet of a wedding business, "Vows". Mac is the kind of woman that even though she is part of a wedding business, doesn't believe in a happily ever after. Then Mac meets up with the brother of one of their clients, a school teacher Carter Maguire, whose kisses are more of a rake and wildman than a gentle english teacher. Carter ever since high school has had a secret crush on Mac, and after sharing a blinding passionate kiss that left them bothh senseless, he knows that she will always have a secret place within his heart. As Carter and Mac go about getting to know each other, a sensual desire builds up between them. Mac knows that Carter is the type of man that she has dreamed of, but she doesn't know if she can trust her heart. She has seen marriage after marriage fail after a certain period of time, but after meeting Carter and his wonderful family, she starts to realize the ever afters do come true. But will Mac come to her senses in time?

This is the first of the "Bride Quartet" and having heard so many good things about this one, I definitely was thrilled to start reading this one. I love weddings and I just have fallen in love with this series. I couldn't put this one down, Nora Roberts is a good author. Although I have never been so enthralled into a story as I was in this one. I loved how even though Mac and Carter are so different, they also have lots of common ground as well. Another thing that I truly loved how this series is a quartet of four best friends that grew up together, and had a common interest :Weddings. Their passion and love! It was great to see these four women interact, and this story definitely amused and delighted me for the whole story. This is one of my favorite Contemporary romances ever written, it has such a classic love that is built up between these two charming characters. Its definitely one of those romances that will steal into your heart and soul, and make your day a bit brighter!

Book Review-Never Marry A Stranger

Never Marry A Stranger
Scandal's Son

Gayle Callen
Avon, 372 Pages
Published Sep 2009
Victorian Historical Romance
ISBN: 978-0-06-123507-8
Synopsis:
The prodigal return . . .

It's an absolute scandal when Captain Matthew Leland arrives at Madingley Court. Presumed dead in battle, his sudden appearance gives the ton quite the shock. But no one is more surprised than Matthew, because waiting for him at home is a bewitching, blue-eyed beauty -- and she claims to be his wife!

Miss Emily Grey was alone in the world when a knight in shining armor came to her rescue, claimed her heart, and then disappeared. But now her little white lie, a desperate act of self-preservation, has come back to haunt her. Her husband, once a far-off fantasy, is now a flesh-and-blood man who insists she share his bed . . .

Matthew has no memory of any marriage to this scheming seductress, and he's determined to expose her in every way. But a life with the exquisite Emily will prove irresistible . . . and a marriage of deception will become a marriage of sweet, sweet surrender.

My Review:
In Never Marry A Stranger it starts off with Captain Matthew LeLand arrives home after being thought dead by his family. He knew that it would be definitely a shock to them. After leaving and joining the British military and leaving for adventure and excitement, he certainly never thought that he would have it right at home. He comes home not only to his parents, but is delightfully shocked to find that there is a woman claiming to be his wife. Where she faints in his arms after his arrival. Matthew knows he would have remembered being married, and figuring that this poor chit did it out of some sort of desperation, he claims to have amnesia to his family. Hoping that he can get to the bottom of everything, and find out the truth from Emily. However things aren’t as simple as they may seem. There is a lurking danger that is hidden beneath Emily’s past, only if Emily learns to trust in her heart and in Matthew will she be able to overcome all that haunts her.

This was truly a much amusing love story if I do say so myself. From the very beginning I have to say I was on Matthew’s side of things. He took it all in good form, I mean he arrives home after everyone thinking he had died, and finds a stranger that claims to have been married to him. There is definitely something amusing in this story, as he aches for the truth and what drove her to do such a thing. Emily, after losing her family and going through some hardships of her own, claims to be his wife out of desperation, what she never expected was for him to arrive home alive. She knows that there is the magnetism about the man, that she finds hard to resist. As they draw closer together, there is a desire that spikes up and dares to consume them both, as well as a love that neither one of them expects to find in each other. I have to say that I truly loved this story, even though I wish that from the beginning that Emily would have had the courage to confide in Matthew. I understood her side of things, how she never learned to trust in anyone including herself, but throughout the book you see that she gradually starts to, and knows she can’t run from the truth as much as she would like to. Matthew however, is one of those male figures that you just wish you could fall in love with. He has such character and enthusiasm about life and he never really gets angry or frustrated about the situation, just amused and wanting to burst with laughter at any point. It was definitely one I enjoyed most thoroughly and I am looking forward to read the rest of the series.
