FIFTY SHADES DARKER: Daunted by Christian’s dark secrets and singular tastes, Ana has broken off their relationship to start a new career. But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and while Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Ana is forced to make the most important decision of her life.

FIFTY SHADES FREED: Now, Ana and Christian have it all—love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of possibilities for their future. But Ana knows that loving her Fifty Shades will not be easy, and that being together will pose challenges that neither of them would anticipate. Just when it seems that their strength together will eclipse any obstacle, misfortune, malice, and fate conspire to turn Ana’s deepest fears into reality

My Review
So I am not one to usually pick up an Erotic Romance unless its a author request, however since this has reached the top of bestseller lists, I thought I would try them out....and after starting the first one yesterday and I just finished the third, I found myself totally addicted to the story, plot, characters and everything between. At first I had heard both good and bad and it took me a while to get the courage to read them....and now I think I understand why its so popular....its definitely different from other erotica that I have read. As you read more into the series it starts to seem more of a contemporary romance with a erotic edge to it. There was something very stimulating and exciting about the story and Ana and Christian.  I think I have to say that after reading the first book I wondered if I would like the 2nd and the 3rd and it just kept getting better, and we see more of a romance and a intense plot, which is the type that I enjoy. I didn't really like the bdsm aspect of it so much, although there were certain parts that was very intriguing.  Anastasia, is very innocent and naive especially with anything sexual, whereas Christian has more than enough experience with his sexuality, and it was very fascinating  to see how they interact, and we start to see how Christian is so full of so much depth it can be confusing at times, but he is a very strong and appealing hero and you can't help but want to hug him at times. Even though Christian seems to know many things, there is one thing he has a hard time with....Love, which is something that Ana is more than willing to show Christian. I also love how at first Ana seems like a very passive and submissive at first, but we start to see how full of strength and courage she has, and she is far from submissive, she is exactly what Christian needs. I definitely shed a tear or two, watching their love grow and sparkle. I have to say overall I just fell in love with this powerful love story that just takes your breath away.

Q: If you could “unread” a book, which one would it be? Is it because you want to start over and experience it again for the first time? Or because it was THAT bad?

I would have to say Dark Secret by Christine Feehan, I have loved every one of her Carpathian Series except for this book.....it just felt that by the end I wished I had never picked it up. Most books I have read I have enjoyed for the most part, but this book is probably the one I like the least.

Yet despite her steamy love life, Jolie can’t shake the sense that something is not quite right—like she’s stuck in a déjà vu gone terribly awry. As both men race against time—and each other—to win Jolie’s heart, the fate of the Underworld hangs in the balance. My Review

Summary:
Winter Makespeace, lives a double life, one life during the daylight where he is the manager of Home for lost children of St. Giles, and the other life during the moonlit night, where he goes out looking for the innocent children, but his life becomes threatened when Lady Isabel shows up on the scene. Isabel, is charged by the committee to polish Winter Makepeace and if she is unable to he will be replaced. After seeing the way he cares about the children, she knows its his life's work, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to make him see reason. However Winter is more stubborn than she gave his credit for, and she knows it will take all her iron will to match his stubborness. But when a danger lurks to threaten their future, only their love for each other will see them through to the end....

The Hero (Winter Makepeace)
Winter, has dedicated his whole life to the children of St. Giles, now that they have built up a good and decent roof over their heads, its his job to make sure it stays that way. Even though he lives a life that is secret from everyone, even those who he loves...but he knows its the only way to keep them safe. Winter is a very strong willed, stubborn, but is very protective when it comes to the innocent and will do all he can to protect them.....and when Isabel appears in his life, at first he is very annoyed, but he soon finds she is too irresistable to resist.

The Heroine (Isabel Beckinhall)
Isabel, is charmed when she see's the way Winter is around the children at the home....and she soon see's the type of man he is. A man who is very passionate about everything in his life, including their affair. At first Isabel's desire for Winter is overwhelming and she gives in to the pleasure of his kiss, but when girls start disappearing in St. Giles, she becomes not only his partner in bed but in solving this mystery....

My Thoughts
Elizabeth Hoyt is one of my favorite authors, I recently discovered her last year, and ever since have just felt charmed by her love stories, and Thief of Shadows was no different. In previous books we have seen Winter and I was thrilled to have the chance to read his story....Winter is both complicated and simple at times. He is a charmer among the ladies, very stubborn and protective over his charges, and has dedicated his life to them even over love and marriage. Isabel is a perfect match for Winter, because she is the only woman that could ever bring him up to scratch. Thief Of Shadows was a beauitfully written story, which was a wonderful mix of romance, mystery, passion, and an exciting plot that will definitely keep the reader on their toes. I think what I loved the most about this book, was how wonderfully woven the characters were sewn into the story, one can't help but be endeared by them. A Charming Love Story!!!!

To restore family honor the Marquess of Rotherstone faces his most dangerous mission--finding the perfect bride . . .

To London's aristocracy, the Inferno Club is a scandalous society of men no proper young lady would acknowledge. But though they are publicly notorious for pursuing all manner of debauchery, in private they are warriors who would do anything to protect king and country.

The Marquess of Rotherstone has decided it's time to restore the family's good name. But as a member of the Inferno Club, he knows there is only one way to redeem himself in Society's eyes: marry a lady of impeccable beauty and breeding, whose reputation is, above all, spotless.

Someone quite unlike Daphne Starling. True, she's temptingly lovely, but a jilted suitor has nearly ruined her reputation. Still, Max cannot resist her allure--or the challenge of proving London's gossips wrong. He would do anything to win her hand . . . and show that even a wicked marquess can make a perfect husband.
My Review
Summary
Now that Max is back from his mission in europe with his time, he feels its time to settle down, get married and have a family, especially after giving the majority of his life in service to his country. At first he has a list of potential future wives that would suit his needs, that is, until he see's Daphne Starling, and he knows that she will be His. Even though Daphne has recently been jilted, he is drawn to her in a way that even he can't explain to himself. Daphne, has recently nearly been ruined by a past suitor, and she doesn't know what her future holds, until she meets the Marquess of Rotherstone, who is very charming and seductive, and she knows she could easily fall under his spell, and although they share an intimacy she has never known, she just doesn't know if she can trust him, when she knows he is hiding something from her......

The Hero (Max, Marquess of Rotherstone)
Max, was bartered when he was a child to the government to be trained as the perfect spy and killer. Max has never been close to his family because he felt betrayed and has a hard time learning how to trust again. When he finally returns home to England, he knows its time to find a wife and secure his title. Even though he is looking for a woman with a pristine reputation and breeding, he is stunned to discover that all his attention is drawn toward a woman who is captivating, and although there is a scandal surrounding her, he knows that there is something special about her despite what the gossips' say.

The Heroine (Daphne Starling)
Daphne, feels like she is a burden to her family, especially her father. Ever since she lost her mother at a young age, she has only had her father to lean on...however when Max starts to show an interest in her, she knows that she may not have a choice but to except his offer, even though deep down she knows he is holding something back from her, and only when she knows that truth about his real intentions will she take him seriously....and the feelings she has for him

My Thoughts
Since I have been reading the series out of order, I have been wanting to read Max's story, and I was so glad that I did. The only real negative aspect of the story...was that it took a bit to get into the book, but once I did I was really into it, and it was just as fun and enticing as Foley's other works. It was interesting to see Max develop in the story, much more than we see Daphne develop. Max has alot against him, much of which he kinda does to himself a bit, but it was neat to see him change from a sexy but aloof and withdrawn man, to someone that is what Daphne really needs.  Another aspect that I really liked was the way Max and Daphne connected, very intense and sensual yet had a perfect balance of excitement and romance to even it all out...a very enjoyable read!

My Thoughts
When I first read a review of one of the books from this series, and having such a high rating, I tried to see if it was at my local library, and to my shock and surprise it Was!!!! And I am so glad that I did!!! No regrets with this wonderful historical romance that just tied me up in knots.....it starts out with two people that seem like they are on opposite sides of the tracks....however as the story progresses we see how alike these two are and how much they need each other. Then when everything is revealed, I was very surprise and never saw it coming....I just love a good romance with a twists and turns that delightfully shocks you, and from the first page to the very last I couldn't put it down, it was so enticing, and I just loved this author's style of writing, witty, excitement, sensuality and enough romance to satisfy fully any reader.....I was very impressed by this regency romance that completely won me over!!!!

Book Review-My Dangerous Duke

My Dangerous Duke
The Inferno Club (2)
Gaelen Foley
Avon Romance
Paperback
Published July 2010
Regency Historical Romance
ISBN978-0-06-173397-0
Synopsis
The Inferno Club: In public, this scandalous society of London aristocrats is notorious for pursuing all manner of debauchery. But in private, they are warriors who would do anything to protect king and country . . .

They say that the very name of Warrington is cursed . . .

From a time as old as the cold stone of the duke's ancestral castle, the Warrington men have been plagued by tragedy. But Rohan Kilburn, the Duke of Warrington, has vowed to escape the predestined torment by forsaking love and devoting his life to the Inferno Club and its secret mission.

And then she is brought to him unbidden by cutthroats hoping to calm the duke's infamous temper--a sacrificial virgin of sorts. But even overpowered, Kate Madsen will be no man's sacrifice. And the duke's price for claiming her may be what he has sworn never to give--the heart he has so long and fiercely guarded--to the beautiful hostage he was never meant to love.
My Review

Summary:
When Kate is kidnapped from her home, drugged, and taken to the home of the Duke of Warrington, she doesn't know what to make of him. He is very mysterious, very handsome in a very sinful way, and he makes her body heat with just one look. However he is always questioning her, and she is the innocent one in all of this, but as they both get closer to the truth, the closer the danger gets, the more intense their desire for each other escalates into a powerful love even though they know its dangerous....

The Hero (Rohan Kilburn)
Rohan, has always lived in fear of the supposed family curse. Legend has it that his family was cursed when the Warrington Duke marries, his wife ends up dead either on accident or on purpose....and he knows he can never marry because he would never have the same thing happen to someone he loves and respect. When Kate is brought to him, at first he is only thinking of his sexual appetites, however when he sees the innocence and beauty about her, he is intrigued and knows he could easily fall in love with Kate who is like a breath of fresh air in his dangerous and sometimes stifling world.

The Heroine (Kate Madsen)
Kate, lost her mother when she was a small girl, and then her father abandoned her and left her in England, in a small cottage with a guardian to look after her. Now she is alone, and aches for adventure and to see the world, but when she is kidnapped, she fears for her life until she starts to trust in Rohan, who is the only one that can protect her. As she and Rohan try to discover the mystery together, they draw very close, and his kisses take her breath away and she knows that he will never marry her so she knows she needs to guard her heart because it would be inevitable that he would only hurt her in the end.....

My Thoughts
My Dangerous Duke is the second in the series, and again I am reading this series out of order, but even though it would be nice to read it in order, sometimes I get too impatient, and I just grab what I can find. I have found that it can be read out of order, but then again I can catch on pretty easily....My Dangerous Duke starts out wit Kate being drugged, and you see that she is really courageous and faces up to Rohan not knowing if he is the type of man to rape or not, but she soon finds out that he is not what the legend say. Rohan, has stayed away from his home in the country for a very good reason, but now he has to be there at least for a little while. Rohan, is very suspicious of Kate especially through the first half of the book, however we start to see that once you bang your head enough then eventually you will start to see reason. It was pretty funny to see Rohan and Kate clash against each other, there was also a sexual tension through the whole story that keeps one captivated, and could fog one's windows if your not careful....I just loved the danger aspect to the plot, it just kept me on the edge of my seat the majority of the time, and the mystery was a perfect element to the book, and added a sense intrigue and excitement that becomes very engaging....and the detail of the events that happen are very vivid in a certain way.....A exciting thrill of a romance!!!

Book Review-Suddenly You

Suddenly You
 Lisa Kleypas
Paperback
Avon
Published Apr 2006
384 Pages
Regency Historical Romance
ISBN

She was unmarried, untouched and almost thirty, but novelist Amanda Briars wasn't about to greet her next birthday without making love to a man. When he appeared at her door, she believed he was her gift to herself, hired for one night of passion. Unforgettably handsome, irresistibly virile, he tempted her in ways she never thought possible, but something stopped him from completely fulfilling her dream.
Jack Devlin's determination to possess Amanda became greater when she discovered his true identity. But gently bred Amanda craved respectability more than she admitted, while Jack, the cast-off son of a nobleman and London's most notorious businessman, refused to live by society's rules. Yet when fate conspired for them to marry, their worlds collided with a passionate force neither had expected. . . but both soon craved.
My Review

Summary
Its Amanda's thirtieth birthday, and since she doesn't want to spend it alone, she decides to hire someone to get rid of her virginity. Amanda has always craved passion in her life, but being a spinster has taken that away from her, but now she is determined to have it all. When Jack shows up, she is drawn to him in a way that mystifies her, but after he teaches her a thing or two that night, she knows she will never see him again. When she see's him again, and learns who he really is, and his plans for her, she is outraged at first, but when she realizes she has no choice but to work with him, the passion ignites more powerful than before, and Amanda knows that her life will never be the same.

The Hero (Jack Devlin)
Jack, is a bastard, and was sent to a school for wayward boys, but the lessons learned there were brutal, and when he was able to escape, he planned on building a life for himself, and become one of the most successful and rich men in England. Jack accomplishes that and even more, when he see Amanda, and shares a night that only inflames his desire for her, he is determined that he must have her.....no matter the means

The Heroine (Amanda Briars)
Amanda, is thirty years old, and has always dreamed of love and doesn't wish to ever settle for less. Even though both of her sisters are married, Amanda refuses to settle, and even though Jack seem's like a hardened man with no way to reach the deeper part of him, she starts to see his outer edge crack, but she knows that she can never trust him and she wonders if he could ever love her

My Thoughts
Suddenly You is a single title by Lisa Kleypas, and a book of her's that I hadn't read yet....but I am so glad I did. I don't think there is one book yet that I haven't fallen in love with. Every time I read one of her books its like a breath of fresh air.  Her writing is pure magic, and I always fall under her spell LOL. Jack is the type of hero that you can't help but love even though he has many strong ALPHA traits, he has a very possessive nature toward Amanda, and you see it throughout the book, but you can't help but love him for it, since he has never known love in his life and it was a journey to see him change a bit because of Amanda's influence. Amanda has a very passionate and strong willed nature, has great talent,  but also craves a loving relationship and is willing to take a risk on Jack. I loved many aspects of Suddenly You is an endearing love story where two people who are so different in many ways, have much as well in common, and find what they really need when they fall in love. A beautiful written story by one of the most talented romance authors!!

My Review

Summary
Emily Harper, has always loved Drake, ever since she was a little girl, even though their stations should have kept them apart, it only drew them together. So she travels on her own through Europe, to find him, and when she finds him...questions abound, and the situation she finds herself and Drake in will take them both working together and learning what it truly means to trust no matter the opposition, and even then it might not be enough......

The Hero (Drake Westwood)

So when she hears that he is in need of help, she goes off to help not knowing what she is getting herself into. Once she realizes the danger, though its too late to back out and she refuses to leave without Drake by her side....

My Thoughts
My Ruthless Prince, is the fourth in the series, and the first book that I have read from the series. I have just loved Gaelen Foley, but for some reason I must be behind in the times or lost in a cave somewhere, but when I discovered these books at the library I knew I needed to read them...not even knowing which book is in order. However when I started reading My Ruthless Prince, I don't know I even got up once, I was so enthralled into the story...I mean the plot wasn't something I had never read at least the basics, however there was something that completely drew me into the story, the plot and the vivid portrayal of the characters. I think one of the things that kept me so involved into the book, was how there was surprise after surprise, things I would never suspect to happen, which definitely had me intrigued at the least. So if your  in the mood for a good spy historical romance, I would recommend My Ruthless Prince and I am sure the rest of the books in the series so far....there is something almost magical about the way this author writes!!! You just won't be disappointed!

Lysette, is horrified when she learns that she has no choice in whom she is suppose to marry, so she runs away, and ends up in the arms of someone that would use her for his own purposes, but one who has treated her, protected her and cherished her more than even her own family. Lysette, knows how possessive Max is and the type of man he is, and even though he is very mysterious about his past, she is also in love with him and willing to stand by him despite the opposition they both face.

My Thoughts
When Stranger's Marry, is the updated version of Only In Your Arms. Its been a very long time since I have had the chance to read this one, since I read it many years ago, so it was good to re read it again. There were many things that I found that I just loved about this book. I think one of the many things, is that even though on the surface Lysette seems naive and young, she has great strength and courage, and knows that even though Max is hiding things from her, she still has faith in him, which is remarkable from the way they interact with each other in the beginning of the story. As the story line progresses though we see how good Max and Lysette are for each other. Max is very ALPHA, to the extreme at times, but also has a protective and gentle nature toward Lysette as well. It was good to see how the plot started to unravel, with its ups and downs, twists and turns, that could make one dizzy at times. Overall I really enjoyed this one, I think the flow could have been a little more smoother but other than that I really enjoyed reading this. Its one of those type books, that you can just immerse yourself in, sit before a fire or on the beach, and enjoy the ride.

My Thoughts
My Wicked Little Lies, is the second in this series, and I have seen this one on the shelves for months, and even though its been a while since I have read from this author, I thought why not?? So the minute I got home I started reading, and it caught my attention from the very first chapter, and held it until the very last. I have to say this is probably one of my favorite books so far from this author. I have always loved all the other books that I had read previous by Alexander, however this one I think tops them all. I have a certain weakness for spy stories, especially in a historical romance, and the setting was just perfect. I just loved how the characters in the book, had already fallen in love, and takes places two years after they get married, and we see a lovely story unravel, with an thrilling plot, that curled my toes with anticipation, the characters strongly portrayed and so endearing one couldn't help but fall in love with Evelyn and Adrian and even the side characters as well. I think one of my favorite aspects of this book, is how Evelyn is very strong willed but not too strong, just enough that just wanted me to shout "You go Girl"!!! Adrian is very Alpha at times and very stubborn and it was almost comical watching these two hash it out at different segments throughout the story. Overall a beautifully written story, with a balanced flow, well written characters, and a plot that will steal your breath and .....your heart! Definitely a Keeper!!!!
