When it comes to suitors, Sarah's lush curves and kissable lips aren't enough to compensate for her willful nature. Synopsis
Filled with espionage and intrigue, Stefanie Sloane’s witty and sexy debut is a Regency historical—the first novel in a back-to-back Regency Rogues trilogy that features seductive spies and the ladies they must protect.

Lord William Randall, the Duke of Clairemont, is a rake with little regard for society—a most unlikely suitor for Lady Lucinda Grey. To do this, the notorious “Iron Will” must use his devilish charm to seduce Lucinda and convince her he’s worthy of her attention. Beautiful and fiercely intelligent, Lucinda has managed to gracefully sidestep even the most persistent suitors. Until the Duke of Clairemont, that is. Meet the courageous men of the Inferno Club as they face their greatest challenge yet: marriage!

Sebastian, Viscount Beauchamp, lives by a code of honor, and now honor dictates he must marry Miss Carissa Portland. He has no regrets over stealing a kiss from the adorable little busybody—a fitting punishment for putting her delectable nose where it didn't belong. But now, caught in a compromising situation, he knows he must make her his bride. He's faced danger before—but nothing like this!

Carissa is not a gossip—she's a "lady of information." And all she was trying to do was warn the rakehell Beauchamp away from an irate husband. But even she can't flaunt Society, and while her head tells her that Beau's a notorious scoundrel, her heart—and her body—are captivated by his dangerous charm. But when Carissa next goes snooping, the secrets she uncovers about the Inferno Club may prove even more hazardous than falling in love with her own husband.
My Review
I just read this one, and boy it surely didn't take very long. My only complaint about this book is that it went by way too fast to suit me. Its like I have a love/hate relationship with this one. When I found this available at the library, I knew that I had to pick it up, since I have been waiting months for it to become free for me to read. It has been a while since I have read the previous books in the series, but I am thinking I need to re read the series. When I started reading My Scandalous Viscount I realized why I fell in love with this author, and most especially this spectacular series.

Even though Carissa is labeled the "lady of information", she has good reasons for what she does. When she sees that Beau is in trouble, she knows that she must be the one to save the day. But when she goes to warn him of a impending danger, she ends up in a situation of being shot by a stranger and with Beau as her champion. He then takes her to a safe house of sorts, and where she being curious about Beau and his somewhat secret life, she finds herself being compromised and forced to marry Beau. Sebastian is leader of the Inferno Club now, and is busy enough trying to find out who is working toward destroying all that he and his men have worked so hard at all of these years. But when a charming little minx storms into his life, and they end up in a compromised situation he has no choice but to marry her. He has no complaints however, since he has always been fascinated with Carissa. But when it becomes apparent that his men are in grave danger if they set foot in England, he needs to use every discipline he has to save his brothers. He never thought that falling in love with his beautiful wife would be even more disastrous than his job.

I found this story to be delightful and full of everything I need in a solid spy romance set in regency England. In the previous books we learn about the Inferno Club, and I was thrilled to finally read Beau's story. There was quite a bit of tension and intrigue, and I found myself entertained constantly. The two characters Carissa and Sebastian, were utterly delightful. Their relationship was striking and too amusing by half. A sensual and sizzling tale of passion and danger and mystery that will win your heart over.

Synopsis
He'd never been shot by a woman . . .

He was once a distinguished army officer, a man of honor and heroism. But that was before Alexander Hayes was wrongly accused of treason. Forced to abandon everything he held dear, Alec became a spy for England in an attempt to clear his name. His latest commission sounds simple: locate a retired soldier gone missing. But it also sends him back home, to a family who'd thought him deadfor five years--and a woman who'd like to shoot him.

Everything Cressida Turner's ever heard about Alec tells her that he's a traitor of the worst kind, and yet this enigmatic, infuriating, and utterly captivating man may be the only person she can trust--and the only one who can find her missing father. With nowhere else to turn, she reluctantly joins forces with Alec, unprepared for both the dangerous secrets that threaten them and the relentless passion that drives them into each other's arms.
My Thoughts

Summary
Alec has spent the past five years as a spy when he was accused of treason, and found that serving his country once again may be his last hope in finding the evidence to exonerate him. He is therefore sent back to his home and family, to investigate the disappearance of a soldier that has retired for quite some time now. He then comes across a fierce woman who comes close to shooting him on sight. To say he is intrigued is a understatement. He then learns that she is the daughter of the man he is looking for. Cressida knows that something has happened to her father, since he has gone missing longer than previous occasions and they are very low on funds and could be out of a home sooner than they think. She knows that she has her sister and her grandmother to think of. So despite her reservation of joining up with a traitor, she works with Alec to discover where her father has gone. What she doesn't expect is to find that there is something more to Alec, she starts to feel something intense and emotional about a man who may be accused as a traitor but could be the most trustworthy man she has ever known and could take her down a path of desire and even love.

The Hero (Alexander Hayes)
Alec joined the military and fought valiantly in the war against France. But then he was betrayed and somehow he was framed and labeled a traitor and left for dead. Barely having surviving the encounter, he was asked to become a spy for England. So for the past five years he has hidden his true identity and everyone he has held dear knows him to be dead...until now. When he is sent on a mission, he meets a woman who changes his life. Cressida makes him believe in living again, and in love. He never thought he would love again after being betrayed many years ago by his brother, but now he has found a woman worth fighting for.

The Heroine (Cressida Turner)
Cressida is desperate to find her father. After he goes missing for close to a month, she feels as though something is very wrong. She knows she needs to find him, especially when she knows they may be out of a home soon. Cressida has had to be the strong one in the family. With her sister the passive and meek one, she has had to bear the responsibilities and take lead in all matters. Cressida knows that it is up to her to find her father, even if that means joining up with Alec whom she believes to be a traitor to his country. But as she works with him, she find much more beneath his tough shell and find a tender and protective man who shows her passion.

My Thougthts
This is the first time I have read from this author, and I am glad I finally did. I should have tried her out long before now...but you know what they say better late than never. I just love a good spy romance and this one satisfied me. It took a few chapters before I fully got into it, but once I did, I found it a irresistible read and unable to put it down. I loved seeing how these two interacted with each other. Cressida has a strong personality and at first she resists her attraction to Alec, but doesn't give in to him easily or right away. There isn't strong sexual tension until the latter half of the book, its more gradual, as is their relationship. There isn't a right away attraction that is instantly gratified. I really love it when this happens, it doesn't always occur in historical romances. But I love it when its more of a building up in their love connection and Caroline Linden does it beautifully. The plot had a very mysterious hint to it, and I was always guessing how it turns out, and by the end I was surprised but in a good way. The different twists and turns throughout the story line kept me engaged and the connection that is built between Cressida and Alec is enthralling. A Captivating read that will seize every emotion and keep you on your toes....Caroline Linden doesn't disappoint. Definitely would recommend this author to anyone that enjoys a good historical romance that is fast paced and keeps your guessing. One you don't want to miss out on reading. A Keeper.

First Line
It was said that every sort of vice could be found in London, if one knew where to look.

Favorite Quote
"May I help you, sir?"
Slowly Alec turned, put on guard by her tone of voice. She was tall but slim, and not half as old as he had expected. Her heart shaped face was framed by long tendrils of brown hair, pulled loose from the knot on top of her head. The heavy pistol trembled almost imperceptibly in her grip, but her eyes--luscious eyes the color of cinnamon and gold and amber--were utterly calm and level. Alec's interest rose a notch; he'd never been shot by a woman.

HE HAS A WAY WITH WOMEN ...

Thomas Ashe, the brooding Viscount Blackfield, is a man any lady would shun. But Patience Harrington, try as she might, has never been a proper lady. Her bumbled London season left her with no marital prospects and no recourse but to accept her father's invitation to travel to gloomy Blackfield Castle. Surely, spending a few nights in the presence of priceless antiques and a devilish viscount can't be as bad as facing the ton gossip.

Focused solely on his secret government project, Thomas cares little for the valuable antiques he's recently inherited. The troublesome young woman who has come to assess them, however, stirs his senses in every way. Patience is a distraction Thomas can ill afford --- a beautiful temptation that makes him ache with desire. For a spy is threatening to destroy all he has built, and Patience is hiding something. With so much at stake, Thomas must do whatever it takes to seduce the truth from Patience's lips before lives --- and his own heart --- are lost.
My Review
Summary
Patience has come to Blackfield Castle, to catalogue Viscount Blackfield's antique collect. As daughter of a man that is obsessed with Antiquities, she has learned much. So along with her cousin, they head to Blackfield's home. When Patience first arrives, she is surprised by the current state of things. There is odd noises all hours of the day and night, some of the maids acting as if any object will attack them at will, and when she first meets the Viscount, she believes him to be a vampire. However, she knows that her mind is just playing tricks on her, even if he is arrogant and brooding enough to be one. When things start to really get interesting she decides to start to investigate the strange occurrences.   Thomas, senses that there is something strange about Patience. He suspects one of her party to be a french spy, trying to discover what he has managed to keep hidden so far. But when he finds her snooping around his castle, he thinks she is the spy, and despite the passion he feels for her...he will set out to prove her guilt and betrayal. Until love gets in the way...

The Hero ( Thomas Ashe)
Thomas, didn't have much positive raising as a child and lost his parents at a younger age, and has recently inherited a large cache of antiquities, but is secretly working on a project for the government, but of lately there has been attempts of spies to discover what secret project he has been working on. So when a group comes to assess his  newly acquired collection, he knows that one or more will be after his project, and he must stop at nothing to protect it, and find the one's that are threatening what he has worked so hard for.

The Heroine (Patience Harrington)
Patience, has never been what most would be called a "Proper Lady". Patience, has never had much finesse to socialize in London's circles. She says what is on her mind, and refuses to discuss the most boring topics like the weather and gossip. But then her ways get her in trouble, and she finds herself the center of gossip. So when her father sends her to Blackfield's Castle, she is more than happy to do so. But when she meets Thomas, he introduces her to a world of desire and passion, the likes of which she has never known.

My Thoughts
Even though The Viscount's Wicked Ways, was a very enjoyable read, I felt like there was something lacking. It seemed like there were so many great qualities about the story, but it didn't fall into place very well. I really liked the playful romance that develops between Patience and Thomas. However I didn't feel the normal spark that I usually find in Mallory's books. There was a strong plot that is put into the story, however there wasn't a smooth flow in the story. I really had very high expectations for this one, especially after reading the blurb and looking at the cover, I expected a remarkable read that kept my attention all through the story. However I found myself putting it down quite a few times, because I didn't really get fully into the story. Although there were a few aspects of the story that I did enjoy. First is I did like the story line, I always love a good espionage romance, and even though this one seemed a bit off, it was still fun to see how it turns out. I did like the imagination that the author uses in the book. Overall a enjoyable read, but not a fantastic one. One to relax into, but not one to stun the reader into falling in love with it.

First Line
Patience Harrington shivered with excitement and anticipation as she stared at the massive doors adorned with pointed crowns, sinister ravens, and trailing ivy.

Favorite Quote
The Viscount let go of her and leaned negligently against the door frame. "And why would I do that? Of what do I need to take heed?" He leaned forward, his lips inches away from hers. "This is my domain, and I can take what I want..."

My Review

Summary
Julien, at age thirteen, was changed forever when french revolutionaries and peasants stormed his family's home, killed his brothers and father, and with his mother along his side, barely escaping with their very lives. Now in England, Julien has rebuilt his family's fortune and wealth, enough to make sure his mother is taken care of the rest of her life. But there is another reason, he believes that at least one of his brothers, Armand, is still alive and being held somewhere in France, and he must find a way to get there, even with a war going on. In the midst of making his plans, a family friend of her mothers has sent her daughter to be courted by Julien and even to have him marry her. Julien, doesn't have much belief or faith in love, even though his parents deeply cared for each other. But out of respect for his mother, he agrees, only Lady Serafina is not what he ever expected. Sarah Smith, has been enlisted, not by her own choice, to be a spy within three days. She is told she must find as much information on the Duc de Valere as possible since he is suspected of being a traitor and a spy due to his recent visits to France. However, she never thought Julien would be so irresistible or this task would be more challenging than she ever imagined. Because she is starting to fall in love with this man, suspected traitor, but one who she feels herself losing her heart to.

The Hero (Julien Harcourt)
Julien, was very young when he lost his younger brothers and his father, and his own home. He and his parents knew it was dangerous, but they treated their servants fair, but in the end they turned on him and his family. Having to travel to England, Julien had to rebuild everything, and now that he has, he has a new duty...find one of his brothers that may have survived. He knows he must get to France soon, but he also has another problem....a young woman he is suppose to marry ...who doesn't necessarily want to be courted. Julien finds her endearing but he suspects that she is hiding something...and he must get to the bottom of it.

The Hero (Sara Smith)
Sara, is a orphan, dropped on the porch of a establishment, and has no family to call her own. Sara has never felt wanted or needed. She is now a respectable governess, but while on a job, tutoring children, she is brought into the Foreign Office employment. Her boss, has instructed her that she must become a spy in three days or be thrown out into the street with no reference and no where to go. Sara knows she has no choice, but hates that she will have to become someone else. As she finds herself being courted by Julien Harcourt, she finds him breathtaking, and has no idea how she is suppose to prove his guilt as a traitor; when she doesn't even believe him to be one. But she is determined to get to the heart of the matter, before she does something foolish as fall in love with a man so above her it could be funny.

My Thoughts
The Making of the Duchess is the first in the series...which doesn't happen very often. Most oftentimes I read a series out of order, but I decided to read this one in order. After recently reading from this author I was just about jumping up and down in my seat, excited to read this. It was a whole different style of story than others that I have read from this author. For one, its plot has a more serious tone to it. There were only a few times I laughed, when I usually I am just cracking myself up in her books. For those of you who have read this one, you know what I am talking about. I was expecting a story that would just be so full of witty humor and silly yet fun scenes...boy was I wrong. Don't get me wrong....I did love this one, and I would recommend it to anyone that loves a good spy romance. However you need to expect it to be more serious, not as carefree. Let me lay out some of the few things that I just loved about The Making Of  A Duchess. First, I loved the fast and smooth flow of the plot and story. It was like floating on a river, so smooth and steady. It had its breakneck pace, that is common with this author, that keeps a reader fully enthralled. I also loved the depth of each character, there was so much personality and spirit that I was endeared to them from the beginning. There were many surprises at various times throughout the book, that it keeps you shaking with anticipation. I also loved the mystery and intrigue element to the plot, that had me guessing and I ended shocked at certain times. I loved the way the story is so beautiful woven in detail and the imagery is so vivid I felt like I was there in the story, and I was flipping through the pages as fast as I could read them. Another winner for this author!!! A story that will have you from the first page. I just dare you to put it down. LOL I can hardly wait to read Armand's story. :)

The First Line
Julien woke suddenly, his eyes wide and focused on the ceiling above his bed.

My Favorite Quote
"Tu es si belle" With a groan, he took her in his arms. Enveloped in his strength and warmth, she melted into him. His lips caressed hers so gently and tenderly that she moaned. She wanted more. She ached to feel wanted. Ached to feel beautiful

The Heroine

But even more than that she starts to be consumed by a fervent desire for Clayton, and a love that only strengthens the more she is with him...but will she be able to choose Clayton over the mill and all that she has worked for these past years?

My Thoughts
Thanks to Edelweiss and Avon Books I was given a copy of the ARC Sins of a Ruthless Rogue by Anna Randol. I actually have never read anything from this author, and now I am wishing I had read more from this author. I really enjoyed this story, even though I am not huge on revenge type romances, I found that the way Randol weaved this story together, definitely has me hooked. The plot was very exciting and at times felt like a roller coaster, but had a fun and adventurous element to it. I also loved the style of writing this author displays....it instantly draws the reader right into the story. It didn't take me very long to get into it. Clayton is full of revenge, and is more stubborn than an ox when it comes to Olivia. Even though there were times I considered him to be ruthless when it came to matters pertaining to Olivia. But I always love it when the hero gets proven wrong. I really liked Olivia, she admits to her mistakes and doesn't excuse them for any reason. But we see how deeply she cares for Clayton, and she proves that she is a better person now than when she was fifteen. That she is willing to do whatever it takes to do what is right. The chemistry that explodes between them is burning and I found myself fanning my face at times. (where is my fan when I need it? LOL) But there was also some very tender and sweet moments that occur that just keep you wanting more. From beginning to end Sins of a Ruthless Rogue was a captivating tale that takes you on a adventure from England to Russia and will endear you to this author as it has with me. LOVED every page, every paragraph and sentence that had me falling heads over heels in love with this fun and exciting story!!

The First Sentence
Olivia crept around to the back of the mill, the not held tightly in her hand. "Clayton?"

My Favorite Quote
"What if I asked why you're telling me your plan now? Why not continue to sit back and observe?"
Because the thought of anything happening to her had eaten at him like acid. And there was no way in hell he'd ever intentionally risk her again. "Because I want you too damned much."
But he had to make her see that he wasn't noble. She wasn't the only one to make mistakes. That the light in her eye was misplace.
So he kissed her.

My Review

Summary:
When Kate is kidnapped from her home, drugged, and taken to the home of the Duke of Warrington, she doesn't know what to make of him. He is very mysterious, very handsome in a very sinful way, and he makes her body heat with just one look. However he is always questioning her, and she is the innocent one in all of this, but as they both get closer to the truth, the closer the danger gets, the more intense their desire for each other escalates into a powerful love even though they know its dangerous....

The Hero (Rohan Kilburn)
Rohan, has always lived in fear of the supposed family curse. Legend has it that his family was cursed when the Warrington Duke marries, his wife ends up dead either on accident or on purpose....and he knows he can never marry because he would never have the same thing happen to someone he loves and respect. When Kate is brought to him, at first he is only thinking of his sexual appetites, however when he sees the innocence and beauty about her, he is intrigued and knows he could easily fall in love with Kate who is like a breath of fresh air in his dangerous and sometimes stifling world.

The Heroine (Kate Madsen)
Kate, lost her mother when she was a small girl, and then her father abandoned her and left her in England, in a small cottage with a guardian to look after her. Now she is alone, and aches for adventure and to see the world, but when she is kidnapped, she fears for her life until she starts to trust in Rohan, who is the only one that can protect her. As she and Rohan try to discover the mystery together, they draw very close, and his kisses take her breath away and she knows that he will never marry her so she knows she needs to guard her heart because it would be inevitable that he would only hurt her in the end.....

My Thoughts
My Dangerous Duke is the second in the series, and again I am reading this series out of order, but even though it would be nice to read it in order, sometimes I get too impatient, and I just grab what I can find. I have found that it can be read out of order, but then again I can catch on pretty easily....My Dangerous Duke starts out wit Kate being drugged, and you see that she is really courageous and faces up to Rohan not knowing if he is the type of man to rape or not, but she soon finds out that he is not what the legend say. Rohan, has stayed away from his home in the country for a very good reason, but now he has to be there at least for a little while. Rohan, is very suspicious of Kate especially through the first half of the book, however we start to see that once you bang your head enough then eventually you will start to see reason. It was pretty funny to see Rohan and Kate clash against each other, there was also a sexual tension through the whole story that keeps one captivated, and could fog one's windows if your not careful....I just loved the danger aspect to the plot, it just kept me on the edge of my seat the majority of the time, and the mystery was a perfect element to the book, and added a sense intrigue and excitement that becomes very engaging....and the detail of the events that happen are very vivid in a certain way.....A exciting thrill of a romance!!!

My Review

So when she hears that he is in need of help, she goes off to help not knowing what she is getting herself into. Once she realizes the danger, though its too late to back out and she refuses to leave without Drake by her side....

My Thoughts
My Ruthless Prince, is the fourth in the series, and the first book that I have read from the series. I have just loved Gaelen Foley, but for some reason I must be behind in the times or lost in a cave somewhere, but when I discovered these books at the library I knew I needed to read them...not even knowing which book is in order. However when I started reading My Ruthless Prince, I don't know I even got up once, I was so enthralled into the story...I mean the plot wasn't something I had never read at least the basics, however there was something that completely drew me into the story, the plot and the vivid portrayal of the characters. I think one of the things that kept me so involved into the book, was how there was surprise after surprise, things I would never suspect to happen, which definitely had me intrigued at the least. So if your  in the mood for a good spy historical romance, I would recommend My Ruthless Prince and I am sure the rest of the books in the series so far....there is something almost magical about the way this author writes!!! You just won't be disappointed!
