My Review

Cearnach MacNeill, is on his way to his friends wedding, when a crazy woman driver (in his mind) ruins his car. When he first meets her, his senses flare out, and recognizes her as a gray wolf, but even worse she is American. Of all the luck, he knew from his brothers experiences American women were dangerous, so he plans on keeping her on a tight leash. Seeing as she ruined his means of transportation he forces her to come with him to the wedding, which he is determined not to miss. Cearnach despite his good behavior, gets into a entanglement at the wedding, and has to leave abruptly and on their way back to his car, they find it has disappeared. He suspects its a enemy clan playing tricks on him, and before he knows it, through a strange process of events, he finds himself partnered with Elaine in their wolf forms, trying to make it to his Clan alive. Elaine has come to Scotland to find her uncles lost treasure. But what begins as a accident turns into Elaine being brought along on a adventure she never planned on or wanted. When they finally make it to Cearnach's clan and home, she is out of her comfort zone. Elaine is a lone wolf, having lost her parents when she was young, and being forced to go into hiding for years, and just recently has changed her name back to its original form. She has no idea how to react to the chemistry she feels between herself and Cearnach, or how she feels with the warmth and welcome from his family and clan. Will Elaine be able to put her past behind her and embrace a future with Cearnach?

I have anxiously waiting for this title to become available at my local library. I can't believe it took this long to get my eager hands on this one. Ever since I discovered Terry Spear a couple years ago, her books have been a ride, and I have loved every story she has written. I do love shifters, more than any other paranormal creature, there is a certain magic and mystery to these creatures. Terry Spear has a certain way about her, in the writing and the formation of the plot and story line that is too irresistible to resist. A Highland Werewolf Wedding is the eleventh installment in the series, and is a extension of the highland series that is part of the Heart of the Wolf series. One thing that I have loved about this is the setting. You almost feel as you are reading, that the culture is historic Scotland with the kilts and bagpipes, delicious food and the way the Clan relationships are formed. There is quite a lot going for this story, but one of my top favorite aspects is how the author works in the highland culture in a contemporary and paranormal setting, which you don't normally see.

In the first chapter, you see the instant sizzling chemistry between Cearcnach and Elaine. At first they are furious with each other, but when scent each other, and recognize the wolf in each other, and anger quickly turns to passion faster than you can take a breath. Cearnach is very Alpha Male, but Elaine is no beta, she is a Alpha in her own right. It was quite entertaining seeing how equally matched they are for each other. Elaine isn't full on fighter, but she will protect what is hers at all cost, and I loved how their relationship develops. Surprisingly I loved both the hero and the heroine. There are times I can be a bit picky about the heroine, but in this one, I couldn't really find anything I didn't like about Elaine. She was full of passion and zest for life, and the author makes her come to life. My heart went out to Elaine, since she has never been able to have a man stick with her, when she is willing to put herself out there and risk everything to find her mate. At first she suspects Cearnach of being the same, however Cearnach is no male to let go of something he burns and aches for with a fierceness. Cearcnach is a fighter and protector, but he is so gentle at times with Elaine, and their connection is instantaneous from the get go. The "finding treasure" aspect added a bit of intrigue to the story. As you read this one, you see how the author balances the plot with the love story in such a intricate way, you find it near impossible to put down.

Overall, I found the story is action packed and filled with a intense sensuality yet at the same time you see a side of playful fun you would expect from a shifter romance. A delightful and almost magical tale that blends the highland romance in with the paranormal danger that will arouse you. A MESMERIZING STORY TO CAPTURE YOU!!
