My Review
Rain Tairen Soul is the King of the Fading Lands, and has survived for centuries, and after losing the woman he once loved, spent countless years bent on revenge against those who killed the woman who was gentle and kind and gracious. Now determined to find out the truth and the evil that threatens his people, he finds out that he has a truemate, the woman that is the other half of his soul. He never thought it possible he would ever have a truemate, but now that he has found her, he will never let her go. Ellysetta or also known as Ellie, lives in a mortal city known as Celiera, a place where she grew up. Her father being a woodcarver, she grew up in a simple yet loving atmosphere. her family is everything to her. Ellie knows that soon she will have to marry soon, and the man her parents would have her wed, leaves a bad taste in her mouth, she wishes more than anything to marry anyone but him. Ellie is not a normal mortal, she has suffered nightmares and convulsions all of her life. When Tairen Soul, king and the most powerful Tairen alive comes to their city, she is intrigued. All of Ellie's life, she has been fascinated with Tairen Soul and anything connection to the myths and legends he has left behind. The last thing she expects is for Tairen Soul to come swooping down and claiming her as his truemate. She wonders if his vision is impaired or is drunk. Ellie has always believed herself to be awkward, unattractive and not built in the way most men desire a women to be shaped. There is a part of her that can't resist Tairen, or his gentle ways with her. Even though the passion they share can be fierce, she finds her heart opening up to Rain and his protectiveness and fierce devotion.

I have heard about this series for a very long time and have always wanted to read these books, which I have heard stellar reviews on. So I decided it was time to try them out, especially since I do love fantasy romance. From the first few pages, I was instantly hooked, and I couldn't put this epic story down. I was blown away by the author's voice and the world building she does with the Tairen Soul series. Even though this is the only book I have read from this author, I am hooked, I can barely sit still with excitement to read what happens between Tairen and Elllie. In the beginning I was a bit confused with what was happening, but that usually happens with this type of story, with a huge aspect of world building. It tends to take a little while to get adjusted and settled into the story. I am not saying I had a hard time getting into the story, (the very opposite as a matter of fact). However I do wish there was a bit more background to the story in the prologue. It did have some background information, but I felt like there may have been a bit more. However once the story picked up, I started to feel comfortable and everything seemed to come together pretty nicely only after a few chapters. It was amazing how well the author put the story together in such a way, that there was no confusion at all and the ease that came with reading Lord of the Fading Lands. So it starts off with Tairen Soul seeking the truth to saving his people, but instead finds out about his truemate, which is the last thing he would expect. It then jumps to Ellie, who along with her two younger sisters, is getting prepared for a visit from fey warriors. Then the first meeting between Tairen and Ellie occurs, and it definitely satisfied every romantic bone in my body. I just sighed at that point, definitely full of desire and intensity, and I could barely contain my excitement. We then see the King and strongest of his people, humble himself beyond reason in order to court Ellie, who is young and inexperienced but beautiful in spirit and soul.

Both of these characters I absolutely adored. Ellie is sweet and charming and very innocent, and has no clue of the power that resides within her. She is very protective and fierce when she needs to be, but is simple and has been raised in a home of love and wants that for herself. She doesn't just give in to Tairen and accept his claim hands down, she tests him, even though it was subtle, I had fun seeing Ellie warm up to Tairen. She does have self doubt about herself, but I think that con's to Ellie made her seem more real to me, and I felt it easy to relate with her.  Tairen was beyond amazing, and he is going to the top of my list of hero's. Tairen is your typical Alpha Male, however there is much more to him than that. He does have a dominant and beyond possessive side. He also has a gentle and patient nature toward Ellie, that is guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings. The side characters were fun and exciting and charming. The relationship between Tairen and Ellie starts out like any relationship does, with stumbling blocks but I did enjoy the way they compromised with each other, and start to develop a deeper bond to each other as the story progressed. I definitely didn't want this story to ever end, and it ended way sooner than I would have liked. I did expect a cliffhanger of some sort, since this series is just about this couple (At least I think it is), but it ended on a good note, but just enough cliffhanger, to keep you thirsty for me, yet not frustrated, just hungry for the next installment.

Overall I would say this is one of the best books I have read ALL year!!! There was so many things I loved about the first in the Tairen series. Such a beautiful world C. L. Wilson creates for us. An exciting and enthralling tale of a epic love and a world with magic, paranormal creatures, and characters to bewitch you.  BRILLIANTLY DONE!!!

My Review
Veronique Montagne is desperate to save her families land, even if she has no choice but to kidnap the Prince of Petersbourg to do it. Veronique's father lost their land in a gambling card game, and she is being forced to kidnap Prince Nicholas. So at a masked ball, she entices the prince into a carriage with her, and she puts a sleeping drought in his drink, and soon he is as helpless as a babe in her carriage. She has no idea why the Marquess wants the prince, but she knows if she has any chance to save her family, she must stay firm, even though she feels a attraction to Nicholas and the last thing she wants is to put him in danger. After a couple of days of Nicholas throwing furniture and threatening her harm, he starts to cajole her, and seduce her with his voice and his warm promises of safety and protection. So she decides that she will risk everything to set him free, but when she does he is furious. Nicholas can hardly believe that he has been kidnapped, and by a beautiful woman no less, a woman he would eagerly bed. Nicholas has a reputation with the women that would rival any mans, however when he sets his eyes on Veronique he is mystified. He can't keep her out of his thoughts or keep his body from responding to her. When a truth of his past comes to light, Veronique is his lifeline and he realizes he would do anything to keep this woman in his life, even marry the woman. But life is about to become more rocky, and only with their love and trust in each other, will they be able to overcome the challenge that could risk everything...

The Prince's Bride is the third in the Royal Trilogy. I just love royal love stories, and I found that Julianne Maclean did a fair job with it. The Prince's Bride I would say is the most carefree of the three. It does contain a more serious note to it, but I love the lightness to the story, it wasn't too heavy or smothering at all. In fact I can't believe how fast I breezed through this book, before I knew it the story was over and I felt a little sad since I am pretty sure this is the last installment. I have read quite a bit of Julianne Maclean and this trilogy is my favorite of her works so far. I have been looking forward to Nicholas' story for quite some time, so I couldn't wait to read about how Nicholas surrenders to loves kiss, he is a rake and scoundrel and very wicked. Nicholas is the type of hero that you know you will right away from the first page. I love his nonchalant manner that he portrays, but when you delve deeper into the story, you see a side of him that is far different. Nicholas has suffered from verbal abuse from his father and struggles with his own worth and has for many years. When he meets Veronique, she changes everything including making him believe that there is something redeemable in himself. I loved these two characters together, their relationship a bit rocky, but overall playful and strong and had a hint of sensuality that casts a spell over the reader. Veronique was the type of heroine you just melted into. She is strong, courageous, and has a will of iron and even though she has a passionate nature, but because of the scandal attached to her families name due to her father, she refuses to give into her yearning for Nicholas, wanting to show her family that she won't shame them. It was fun seeing her kidnap the prince, and see them fall pretty quickly in love with each other. It may have been quick, but I didn't feel like it was too rushed, the author coaxes them gently into it, its not all of a sudden, you see it gradually happening, so its not so much of a shock.

Overall I couldn't help but fall madly in love with with The Prince's Bride. It contained all the characteristics of a solid romance to appeal to me from page one. A Sparkling romance that delivers...GUARANTEED TO ROMANCE YOU!!!

My Review 
Simon, is the Duke of Trent and that position comes with much responsibility. Three years previous he fell in love with Sarah, a woman who was raised along side with his siblings. Now she is a maid, having been the gardeners daughter. Sarah Osborne, has always known the wide gulf that separates herself and Simon from each other. Even though she cares for Simon more than anyone knows, she also knows that they have no future together. She is merely a maid, and Simon a Duke. When Simon's mother disappears, all of them are frantic, trying to find  a trace of her and find none. When Sarah was young, Simon's mother took her in and loved her and Sarah would do anything to find her. As Simon and his brothers start to investigate, they find  a variety of clues to their mother's disappearance, and Simon and Sarah start a affair even knowing it can't go anywhere. But then when Simon starts to come to the realization on his feelings for Sarah and willing to sacrifice everything for her, he ends up being blackmailed. Now he will have to make a choice save his family from the largest scandal known to the Ton or sacrifice everything for his love for Sarah.

The Duchess Hunt is the first in the House of Trent series, and I have always liked this author. I have never had a problem becoming engaged in her stories and her style of writing is addictive and draws in the reader from the beginning. After reading The Duchess Hunt I was impressed by this story, my favorite of her books so far. As the first in the series, The Duchess Hunt introduces us to the Trent family. It begins with a charming beginning of when Simon and Sarah first meet and finding Sarah hurt Simon brings her home to his mother, who immediately takes a liking to Sarah even though she is the gardeners daughter. So she does what any Duchess would do right? Have Sarah learn alongside with her own children. Having grown up in a loving atmosphere where despite her rank and birth, she feels accepted, but deep down she knows she will never be good enough for Simon.One of my favorite parts of this story was the way the Trent family accepts her. The relationship that forms between Simon and Sarah is tender and sweet and passionate. Both Simon and Sarah have shared intimate feelings with each other but haven't given into them until now. With the disappearance of Simon's mother, there is a mystery to be solved. But when Simon ends up being blackmailed into marrying a woman he barely knows and sees him as the Duke to be have at all costs, he knows he is making a mistake and hurting the one woman he loves more than life.

The Duchess Hunt is a story that engages the reader until the very end. I had the hardest time putting this one down and I would highly recommend this one to anyone that loves a stimulating historical romance. There is such a unbridled emotion portrayed in this story, the characters so vividly written it makes them come alive for the reader. I did feel like there could have been a bit more emphasis on the missing mother, but I did like the "Blackmail" theme to the story. I do love a strong conflict especially when it seems like unbeatable odds for the couple involved to stay together. The side characters were lively and fascinating and I just fell in love with the siblings of Simon. The bickering and bantering between them reminded me of my own family, and I love  a series that involves a big family, so I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series.The aspect of the unorthodox Trent family was intriguing, and I enjoyed seeing the varying degrees of originality between each member of the family.

I think that overall, The Duchess Hunt was a charming story of a couple that have loved each other but live on different sides of the tracks. The love story was well done and the plot was thick with intrigue and mystery and conflict. Richly filled characters, and a witty enough read to charm your socks off. A Sensational story with enough zest and sensuality to make you fall in love from beginning to end.

My Review 
When Blaine's brother is insistent on going to a estate that he has inherited, he brings her along, even though leaving Edinburgh is the last thing she wants to do. When they arrive, she and her brother are shocked when they discover its a abandoned castle. As they start to settle in, Blaine hears noises and a man's voice, but she doesn't know if its real and if its a ghost or not.  James Maitland, Lord Kettering, was tricked twenty years previous when trying to feed on a young woman, and was then trapped in the deserted castle he awakens in. He starts to remember that it was five witches who trapped him here. When he senses others in the castle, he realizes that this may be his chance to free himself. Even though it goes against Blaine's instincts, she senses something good in James, and releases him from his prison, she has no idea who he is and why he has been trapped here. Even though she wants to remain aloof and distant from James, she starts to feel a deeper connection to him, and even though she knows he can be dangerous, she knows in her heart that he would never harm her or her family. When enemies of James come knocking on the door, she learns of his true identity and only when she accepts James into her heart will they be able to survive the danger and grab onto a chance of a future together?

It Happened One Bite is the first in the Vampire Trilogy by Lydia Dare. It is connected a bit to her Westfield Wolves series. I was really excited to read It Happened One Bite because I had recently read the first book in the Westfield series, so I had high hopes for this one. It started out a bit slower than I expected. As I continued with the story though, it picked up as the sparks started to fly between James and Blaine. Blaine is a witch and part of a five witch coven, and as such she protects her heart and is very practical, because she has had to be. When she meets James, a fire burns within her, and even though she wants to give into the desire she feels for him, she fights it. James, is burning with rage and desiring revenge, but his attraction to Blaine is undeniable and his anger turns into desire for a woman who seems to not want him, but he knows that she desires him as much as he desires her.

There is quite a bit going on in this story. In the beginning it seems to be just a romance between a vampire and a witch in the regency era in England. However we start to see there is more to it than a love story. There is a few twists and turns involving two enemy vampires, whose only desire is to kill everyone that James cares about. I liked the aspect of vampires in a historical setting, with a portion of witch lore. The setting was set up perfect to set the stage for the story. The characters were exciting to see together. James, is handsome and confident and powerful, yet very gentle at times, and I couldn't help but fall in love with him from the start. I couldn't help but be on his side for most of the story, seeing a character that even though is a vampire, has honest intentions and even though can be brooding, he isn't dark or sinister type of vampire. He is a gentleman through and through, because he started out as a gentleman before he became a vampire. So I admired him quite a bit, and in the way he handles Blaine is just precious. Blaine is strong willed, and fiercely independent and with her powers as a witch is intent on standing by James side even though she is mortal. At times it could be quite humorous, but there was such a enticing quality to their relationship and the way they worked together.

It Happened One Bite was a sweet and charming paranormal story set in the beautiful setting of Scotland. A heated read full of sensuality and a fascinating plot with twists and turns that puts together a memorable story.

Why A Notorious Love?
A Notorious Love was the first book I read from this author, and I would say is ranked among my top favorites in historical romances. There was a certain qualities to this story that seizes the readers attention from the very beginning.
