My Review

Talon has lived for centuries, he traded his soul for vengence to the god Artemis, and is part of a group of vampire hunters known as "the dark hunters" with Acheron as their leader. Talon is without feeling or emotion, has a passion for coffee and is cursed the god Camulus, to lose everything he has and will love. In modern day New Orleans, during Mardi Gras celebration, Talon is run over by a runaway float, is injured and is saved by a gorgeous woman, Sunshine Runningwolf. Sunshine, is a artist and painter, and she her greatest passion is her easel and exploring her talent. She lives in a den of pink, lives off soy products, and isn't looking for any commitment...until she meets Talon. From their first day together passion ignites, and this couple can barely keep their hands off each other. Talon knows that he can never have anything with Sunshine, but there is a deep connection and when they keep getting thrown together, and Sunshine being hunted by his enemies, these soul mates will have to rely on each other to survive their enemies that are bent on their destruction...

Night Embrace is the second book in the Dark Hunter series. For years I have seen this author popping up, and so I decided I had to try her out. So I found Night Embrace at my local library and I picked it up before anyone else could. I had high expectations for this book and it blew me away after reading it. I don't think there was anything that I didn't like....it has everything you need in a paranormal romance!! There is such imagination in the plot and this fierce and passionate world of were's and vampires, demons, gods, and hunters.  Before I even picked this up, I had a feeling that this story would be sexy and fun and I was right!!

What a pair Talon and Sunshine make together, and I was on their cheer team from the very beginning. Talon is one fierce warrior, and in the beginning he seems dark and aloof and without any emotion except for the joy he feels with his cup of coffee. Then when seeing some vampires to kill, he finds himself stuck in a pink everywhere loft, and with a quirky woman that stirs his desire like none other. Talon is quite a bit of a tortured hero we have here. He has lost his wife, child, parents and sister to his enemy. He lives a desolate life of killing and serve to Artemis. I loved Talon as the hero, and what a tasty male he is. I just wanted to gobble him up. He was protective, fierce, alpha all the way and what a fighter he is especially for Sunshine. Sunshine, well she was different, but I really liked her from the get go. She is fun, quirky, and unique. She takes everything in stride, and doesn't have panic attacks from learning about Talon, I love how accepting she is of Talon. There is quite a strong connection and what a emotional roller coaster this story is. Overall a winner of a paranormal romance. A wonderful blend of memorable characters, intense packed plot, enough steam to give you sunburn, a love story to steal your heart!! A KEEPER!!

"Sunshine, I..." Starla's voice broke off as she entered the room and caught sight of him standing naked in the corner. She eyed him in an odd, detached way, as if he were an interesting piece of furniture. Talon and modesty were strangers, but the way she stared at him made him damned uncomfortable. In spite of the sunlight, Talon grabbed the pink blanket off the bed and clutched it to his middle. " You know, Sunshine, you need to find a man like that to marry. Someone so well hung that even after three of four kids, he'd still be wall to wall." Talon gaped. Sunshine laughed "Starla, you're embarassing him." "Oh, believe me, that's nothing to be embarrassed over. You ought to be proud. Strut it. Trust me, young man, women your age would love to have some of that." Talon gaped his gaping jaw shut. these were the strangest women he'd ever had the misfortune of being near. Gods, get him out of here.
