Throwback Thursday (17) Duke of Sin

Throwback Thursday is a new meme hosted by Buried Under Romance and Love Saves The World, and since I just love Historical Romance I decided to participate.

What Is Throwback Thursday? Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or image from their past--usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book related Throwback Thursday

Here Are The Rules: 1. It must be posted on a Thursday. 2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008

Vivian Rael-Lamont lives peacefully in the small town of Penzance, Cornwall, where everybody believes her to be widowed, when in truth she left London unwilling to let her husband's exploits taint her family name. All's well, until someone threatens to reveal her married status and expose her to scandal—unless she can obtain an original, signed copy of a Shakespearian play, owned by none other than the reclusive and mysterious William Raleigh, Duke of Trent.

Vivian is unexpectedly drawn to Raleigh, and, for the price of passion, he ends up joining her quest to catch the blackmailer, a discovery which only leads them to more danger. And although their bond only grows stronger, they soon realise the fruitlessness of their relationship—a married woman of noble background cannot enter into an illicit affair with the Duke of Sin...or can she?

Top Ten Books That Will Make You Swoon

1. Lord of Wicked Intentions
I have quite a few favorites from this author, but this is one that is guaranteed to make you weak in the knees. I loved every scene, every sensual moment, and every detail this author provides in this title.

2. The Bride
The Bride was one of the first books I read from this author. I really enjoyed the way this author crafts such a enticing romantic tale set in the Scottish Highlands. Alec is breathtaking, and I wouldn't mind being his bride.

3. The Pirate Lord
The Pirate Lord is definitely at the top of the "Swoon Worthy" list. I could re read this book over and over and never be bored. A tale of adventure and passion, and of course a sexy pirate. Who can resist swooning over him???

4. Devil in Winter
Devil In Winter, is probably my favorite book from Kleypas, which is really a hard task since she has so many brilliant ones. Sebastian is delectable and I could gobble him up. I love reading his and Evie's love story, memorable and unforgettable.

5. One Night With The Prince
One Night With The Prince is my favorite of the series. This story is all about seduction involving a prince's bastard, and a widow. A tale of revenge and desire. A exciting ride all the way through.

6. The Outlaw Viking
The Outlaw Viking is one of my favorites from this author, and is one of her older books, and I believe one of her best work.

7. If I Had You
If I had You is a charming story, that is pure romance. You will need a box of tissues, very heartwarming and emotionally driven.

8. Beyond The Highland Mist
Definitely is swoon worthy, and the first in her highlander series, and in my opinion, some of her most excellent written works. You definitely don't want to miss out on this series!! Stellar amazing.

9. In Bed With A Highlander
This book was my first from this author, and her historical's, are incredibly written, and some of my top chart favorite historical romances. I loved this couple and seeing their adventures in this book.

10. The Wolf and the Dove
This story is set in a medieval time period, and this story is full of intense emotion, dramatic scenes, and flaming passion. I always love reading this one, definitely a classic romantic tale of enemies that turns into a powerful love. REMARKABLY WRITTEN!!

I used to think my sister and I were just two nice southern girls who’d get married in a few years and settle down to a quiet life. Then I discovered that Alina and I descend, not from good wholesome southern stock, but from an ancient Celtic bloodline of powerful sidhe-seers, people who can see the Fae. Not only can I see the terrifying otherworldly race, but I can sense the sacred Fae relics that hold the deadliest of their magic.

Facing certain death, Anne trembles in her stateroom while swords clash and the chilling screams of battle rage on the deck above. When a rugged Highlander kicks in her door, she prays for a swift end.

But Laird Calum MacLeod has a reason for plundering the ship—and it’s not a stunning English lass. With no other choice, he takes Anne to his crumbling keep on the isle of Raasay and sends a letter of ransom to her husband. Excerpt

“We can’t do anything else out here,” she said. “Not tonight.”
She was being so careful with him. Too careful.
“Don’t,” he bit out as he stalked toward her. The others weren’t close enough to overhear, so he could lower his guard and let some of his fury out.
Cadence shook her head. “Don’t what?”
He wanted to wrap his hands around her. To pull her close.
No, I just want to touch her. To feel her.
“Don’t handle me with your damn kid gloves, Cadence.” The words were snapped. “I’m not some victim you have to coddle.”
He’d rolled up the sleeves of his dress shirt—like that had done much good. He was covered with grime and sweat and plenty of insect bites.
I fucking hate summers in the South.
Insects were chirping all around them, and he’d had to dodge snakes in the bushes for most of the evening.
“I never thought you were a victim.” Cadence turned from him and headed for the car.
She knew he’d follow her. Wasn’t he always trailing after her?
Wasn’t he the one who always kept the need in check? The desire he damn well knew they both felt.
After today—after this hell—why couldn’t they turn to each other for some comfort and release? Let that desire burst free?
Replace death with pleasure.

Synopsis
MacKayla Lane’s life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she’s your perfectly ordinary twenty-first-century woman. Or so she thinks…until something extraordinary happens.

When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death–a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone–Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae….

As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, a man with no past and only mockery for a future. As she begins to close in on the truth, the ruthless Vlane–an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women–closes in on her. And as the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book–because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of the very fabric of both worlds in their hands….
