My Review

I received a ARC copy in exchange for a honest review.

Indigo, has finally decided to take her life in control, and fight a man who has abused her, a man that she has loved and cared for since she was put in foster care. But now she is on the run, because he is free from jail and she knows he will come after her. So along with her best friend, she goes on a boat to sail to the UK. Along the way though, there is problems with the engine, and they barely escape with their lives. Now they are cast adrift, when a ship comes upon them, but not a friendly one, a ship of pirates They are taken prisoner, and Indigo is informed by Hendrix, the Captain, that she will be sold as a sex slave to a man he owes money to. Indigo is forced to come to terms with her fate, however there is a passion that surfaces between herself and the Captain, and if only she can make him care for her the way she cares for him, will she be able to escape a horrible fate of sexual servitude, and find a happy ending with this man that has her heart.

I have previously read Bella Jewel, with her MC Sinners series, which I adored. So when I was asked to give a review for this newest release and series by Bella Jewel, I couldn't wait to dig into it. I knew going into this one, it would be full of angsty drama and intrigue, and it definitely was. It was not a easy story for me to read, but despite the first half of the story, and how Hendrix treats Indigo, once you really get into the story, you are consumed with needing to finish it and see if these two will find their HEA. I have to say that this was so different than I was expecting, but in good ways. Indigo was a character I always liked, normally I don't with heroines, but she was such a strong character, and she keeps fighting for her freedom, and just never gives up until she gets Hendrix to admit his feelings for her.

Their relationship is not a easy one, and is definitely full of plenty sharks, tidal waves and storms...their road is not a easy one. Henddrix grew on me though, even though in the beginning I did NOT like him, he definitely softens and you start to see the better side to him, and even though he feels he has no choice, he sense the debate within himself to do the right thing. I will warn you though that there is a cliffhanger, nothing directly with the couple, but other characters connected to them, and definitely leaves you hanging, with mouth wide open. You just never see this ending happening and it definitely shocked me. I can hardly wait till the second book comes out in a couple months so I can find out what happens in the continuation of this series of contemporary pirates, steamy romance, and a ever satisfying read that left me with a smile on my face and a giddy attitude!! STUNNING ON EVERY PAGE!!
