Unable to bear the shame of returning to a family that believes her dead or to abandon others at the keep to an imposing new laird, Genevieve opts for the peaceful life of an abbess. My Thoughts
Highlander Most Wanted is the second in this most incredible series by Maya Banks. Now I just love Banks Historical's, they are amazingly written stories that take you back through time, so vividly portrayed, it makes you just want to go through a time portal yourself. After reading the first in the series, I just fell in love again with her second Historical series. Now I think I almost loved this one more than the first, there were so many aspects of the story that I enjoyed. It was definitely a page turner that will knock your socks off and make you want to fly. I felt like from beginning to end, like it was one of those romances that you just buy and re read forever. One of those unforgettable romances, that is written in such a way that it enthralls the reader and by the time its finished you just don't want it to ever end. I really loved the way the author wove this story together so beautifully, and dealt with difficult issues and just fit it in together amazingly well. It was very emotionally heart wrenching, and I really enjoyed how the characters fit so well for the plot that was portrayed. I felt like everything fit perfectly and the flow of the story was as smooth as warm honey.  If anyone can make you fall in love with the Scottish Highlands, its Maya Banks. A Romance that will enchant you, a story filled with a tender romance, an intriguing plot and charming characters, that will keep a reader thirsting for more. You can't go wrong with this series..... A TRUE TREASURE!!!

A touching story that will warm your heart!

My Review
Summary
Erick Sorensson knows that his firestorm is close, because he can feeling the burning need to find her. Erick  once had a firestorm, and at first it had been going well, he had a son. But then his son turned slayer on him, and he thought he had lost his mate. Erick knows that feeling the firestorm after all of these years, means his mate has been reincarnated. At first he doesn't want to give into this whirlwind of sensations again. Especially after losing so much before, but Eileen is so different. She is passionate, full of life and courage, and fights for those she cares about. Eileen, lately has been having some strange dreams, of a man who is a dragon but who is also her lover. Then the dream man becomes real, and her dreams change, as if she is seeing into the life of another person. Eileen gets thrust into a world of danger and intrigue, where dragons are real and very dangerous, and her life is constantly in danger. What shocks her is that the one dragon that has become her shadow, is her mate, and shows her passion and finding true love when you least expect it.

The Hero (Erick Sorrensson)
Very long ago Erick lost his mate to suicide and his only son who turned slayer. Since then he has become the leader of the Pyr, with great responsibilities. He knows its his duty to get rid of the leader of the Slayers, and that with the new arrival of his reincarnated firestorm, that he has his work cut out for him. However even though he doesn't know what to make of Eileen, he knows she is his destiny, and that he could very well fall in love with her, because she is so much more than he could have imagined.

The Heroine (Eileen Grosvenor)
Eileen,  is a American professor and she is currently taking a break and has come to England to do some research. Where she unexpectedly runs into dragons, and her whole world changes right before her eyes. At first she is shocked, but after all the strange dreams she has had of late, she finds it not too hard to adjust to this discovery. Eileen knows she is strongly connected to Erick in ways she doesn't yet understand. But there is something about Erick that makes her want to sizzle...

My Thoughts
Kiss of Fate is the third in the series. After reading the majority of the series so far, I was feeling antsy wanting to read Erick's story. Erick is just "Sigh"....so seductively sexy, and is one of my all time heroes. He is very protective, enough alpha in him to satisfy any woman, but not too much to drive a woman nuts. I found him to be 'delectable'  at times. Eileen was such a fun character to read. Even though a bit predictable, I enjoyed the little surprises here and there, and I just truly enjoyed seeing what inner strength and character she had. Even though there were times that their story was a bit on the predictable side, but I loved the flair and the suspense that kept the story rolling and keeps the reader engaged. There was also a few side stories that I found just thrilling to read. I really liked the chemistry between Erick and Eileen, but I also enjoyed the love story that is so enthralling...it did bring a few tears to my eyes. But at other times I was just laughing with the witty rapatoire that this author displays throughout the story. I found Kiss of Fate to be a lovely addition to the story, and top of the list of favorites for me. A truly compelling read that will capture the heart of every reader who enjoys a captivating romance, thrilling plot, and sexy characters.

My Favorite Quote
It made Eileen feel powerful that she could incite desire in this man who such capabilities, who had lived so long and undoubtedly seen so many women. She was glad that he saw no need to change her, just accepted her as she was. Wanted her as she was. She liked that he was tough but vulnerable, and that he trusted her enough to let her glimpse his old wounds. She appreciated that he still gave her the choice, that he didn't just take what he wanted.
It means that she would give him more.

My Thoughts
The Princess and The Peer is the first in the most recent series by Tracy Anne Warren. I have just fallen in love with every one of her books that I have been able to read. She has a unique way of making a story come so vividly alive. I really enjoyed the entertaining characters that just made you want to join in, through the laughter and the tears, there is such a endearing quality to the plot that it keeps the reader engaged until the very end.  I really loved seeing how Nick and Emma start to fall in love. Nick from the start is strongly attracted to Emma, but at first treats her as a friend, and after some fun scenes, we see the first romantic spark which turns into a whirlwind of a romance that will take your breath away.  A wonderfully portrayed story that will seduce you!!

My Favorite Quote
He claimed her. There was no other word for it. His lips moved against hers with a heady power that left her reeling, turning her weak and instantly dizzy. Heat burst in wild ripples over her skin, alternating with a shivering chill that made her whole body quake.

My Thoughts
Princess In Love is the second in this trilogy. I found myself really enjoying this one, although I did like Rose, I think I enjoyed Leopold even more. We see such strength from him, and I just love seeing how hard he tries to prove himself to Rose. I found him very endearing at various times. Leopold is a very striking characters, that just makes you want to cheer him on. I think Rose could have been more self aware, she seemed to me to be a bit spineless at times. But I did grow to like her, especially at the end. This story is divided into four parts and I just loved how this story was put together. Even though there were parts that I questioned "Why???" I definitely found it to be a sensual and witty read that keeps the reader engaged. I loved the depth of emotion that is portrayed through to the reader. Again Julianne Maclean delivers a compelling love story that will knock your socks off!!

My Favorite Quote
Rose smiled up at him with love, and the world seemed to glow in the morning light as Leopold leaned closer and touched his lips to hers.

On My Wishlist (35)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where I list all the books I desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.

Handsome Prince Nicholas of Petersbourg is an infamous ladies’ man, but even he doesn’t expect a flirtation at a masquerade ball to turn into abduction. Especially with a jailor as temptingly beautiful as the young woman on the other side of the locked door …

Veronique Montagne was desperate when she agreed to kidnap a prince to settle her profligate father’s gambling debts, and certainly didn’t imagine that her prisoner might sweet-talk her into helping him escape. Saving her home is now the least of her troubles, especially when the attraction simmering between her and the angry prince blazes into true passion. To save them both from scandal, Nicholas proposes a convenient marriage—but when a vengeful plot threatens to tear them apart, he discovers that Veronique’s love is what he desires most of all…

In an enchanting novella from #1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander, eligible viscount Winfield Elliott searches for a bride and discovers that love may be lovelier the second—or even third—time around…

ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN…

Some say I do not take my engagements seriously. Nonsense. What man with no interest in marriage would find himself proposing not once, but three times? And each time, I’ve felt certain that this, at last, is the absolutely, positively, perfect woman.

Miss Felicia Whitingdon, for instance, has youth, beauty, style, grace—and a handsome fortune. Lady Lucille Eustice is a widow of impeccable social standing, and a balm to my soul. Then there is Miss Caroline Hibbit, sweet and charming in every way. Any one of these intoxicating treasures could make a man happy. Any one of them could be an ideal wife. But which—if any of them—will it be

The most combative—and tormented—of all the Ferals, Jag is a predator who hunts alone - until daemons terrorize the human population. To stop them, he partners with Olivia, a flame-haired Therian temptress as strong as she is beautiful. But Olivia is no ordinary immortal. The survivor of a vicious supernatural attack, she possesses a deadly and forbidden skill— one that must remain hidden, especially from the powerful Feral Warriors.

As Jag and Olivia's sensual dance of dominance and seduction gets wilder and hotter, a dark force sets its sights on Olivia, threatening to destroy everything she has vowed to protect. And the only one who can save her soul is the arrogant jaguar shifter she lusts for but dares not love

The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, changing hands, even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major facelift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. Beckett is the architect of the family, and his social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was fifteen.

After losing her husband and returning to her hometown, Clare Brewster soon settles into her life as the mother of three young sons while running the town’s bookstore. Busy, with little time for romance, Clare is drawn across the street by Beckett’s transformation of the old inn, wanting to take a closer look . . . at the building and the man behind it.

With the grand opening inching closer, Beckett’s happy to give Clare a private tour - one room at a time. It’s no first date, but these stolen moments are the beginning of something new - and open the door to the extraordinary adventure of what comes next .

My Review
I had heard some good things about this book, so I was excited to read from a new author, and I find myself feeling very disappointed. After trying to get into it for almost three days, I just couldn't get myself to finish the book. I read 2/3 of it, and even though there were a few things that occurred in the story that totally cracked me up. For most of it, I felt out of place while reading it. I think part of it was the flow of the plot was jagged and uneven and I had a hard time keeping up, and I only ended up confused. Also what also confused me is the dialogue. I have read many scottish highland historicals, and this was the first time it rattled my brain so much. I did however like Amalie, and at times I liked Thayne, but part of me just couldn't fall for him. I started out wanting to enjoy it, and it only ended up being a chore to read. So after three long days of trying to get into it, I just gave up, especially since there are many books on my plate that I need to get read. However I think I will try another book by this author sometime. I hope my next experience trying her out will be a ton better.

But as the maddening competition heats up, Carolina realizes that she’ll have to come clean to Alec, the seductive loner who’s managed to capture her heart…
My Review
Summary
When Alec rescues a stranger from two brutes, he has no idea who she really is, since she claims to be a Jane Smith, which is obviously not her real name. When he takes her to his camp  to recover he reluctantly agrees to keep her for a few days. Carolina (aka Jane) has just escaped from her kidnappers with the help of Alec. For two years Carolina has managed to live a free life, free from her over bearing father, in hopes of finding true love, but has yet to find it. Then she comes across Alec Mackeage who treats her like a normal person. In all of her life, she has been treated like a priceless object, but for the first time in her life she is treated as if she really matters. As a few days turn into a week, she starts to have some deep feelings for Alec, but also knows that they may never have a future together. As her father is the king and leader of Atlantis, she knows she can never have what she truly desires...to be normal and to have a chance at a normal life, with a man she loves at her side.

The Hero (Alec Mackeage)
Alec is here in Spellbound Falls to work on the trail in the woods. Alec also has a past that he has had to keep from everyone, including his family. Alec knows he can never be able to love someone fully, so he knows having a family is not in his future. When he hears a woman screaming for help, he leaps to her aid, and takes her to safety. He offers her shelter for a few days, and even though he finds himself starting to care for her, he also knows he has no real future to offer her.

The  Heroine (Carolina Oceanus)
For most of her life, Carolina has felt boxed in, with no control over her life. She loves her parents, however she needs a life of her own. For the past two years she has managed to escape her fathers clutches, in search of a normal life. When she gets kidnapped, she knows she is deeper trouble, she barely manages to escape with the help of a stranger who awakens every sense she has. She has always wanted to find love and passion, but never thought she would find it in Alec.

My Thoughts
Courting Carolina is the third in the series, which is Carolina's story. After seeing her in the past two books, I was very much looking forward to reading  her story. It starts off with a very exciting scene, that only entices the reader for more. I really enjoyed this story, probably more than the last one. It didn't have as much magic in this one as the other did though, so I would consider it more under the contemporary style. Although there is a fun dose of magic to liven things up. I really liked Alec, he is the certain type of hero you want to hold close to your heart. Alec has gone through a hard time, and doesn't believe in love in the beginning. But I just loved seeing how he fought for Carolina, in very creative ways too. I think I was just cheering him on for trying to prove himself. Carolina has always been sheltered, at times too much, and wants freedom. And I loved how she fought to stay at Alec's side and show how strong she really was. I loved the charm, the witty humor, and the tender romance that blossoms, it seemed to me to be a exciting yet magical love story that will bring a tear to your eye! If you haven't yet read this author, you are missing out on some amazing works!!!

Julianne MacLean
St Martins

Regency Historical Romance
Synopsis
Attention one and all. His Royal Highness, Prince Randolph of Petersbourg, will set sail for London in early June and reside at St. James Palace for one full month…Some say the true motive for the prince’s visit to our fair country is to seek and marry his future queen. My Review
Summary
Alexandra, after learning about her true past, she has learned of her true destiny. So out of duty and obligation she sets her sights on Prince Randolph. Even though he is attractive and charming, he is not the brother she is attracted to, because she is drawn to his brother Nicholas. A man who stirs up her senses like no other man has. Even though she knows there is no future for them, she can't help but tremble with his kiss he gives her. Alexandra, knows she must focus on Prince Randolph, knowing that he is part of her destiny. But then she will have to make a choice, a difficult one, decide what is more important her duty to country or to fight for a life with Nicholas?

My Thoughts
I skipped part of the review layout this time due to the fact that I don't want to reveal any spoilers for those that haven't had the chance to read it. Before I got my hands on this one, I had heard many good things about this new series by Juilianne Maclean. I have just loved her books so far, she is such a captivating author, that draws a reader instantly into a book. Its rare for me to instantly be drawn into the story so immediately. I just loved everything about this one. At times I get nervous over reading royalty fiction. It can be hard to get into at times. However I found this one to be very refreshing at every turn. There was a intriguing plot, where it seemed to me like there was more than one climax. I really loved the variety of scenes that happen, and when you think you have seen the HEA, the story keeps continuing on and is very engaging and keeps the reader involved continually in the story. The characters seemed full of life, fresh like newly picked flowers. I loved both the hero and heroine in this one, however I think for the latter half of the story I was on Alex's side of things to be honest. Although I did enjoy how things really work out in the end, despite the obvious game of lies and deceit. However we also see two people learning how to truly love and trust in each other I am also looking forward to reading more of this series. It definitely was a exciting adventure reading this one and am looking forward to more!

My Favorite Quote

Book Review-Scandal Wears Satin

Scandal Wears Satin
The Dressmakers (2)
Loretta Chase
Avon Romance
Paperback
Published June 2012
372 Pages
Regency Historical Romance
ISBN 9780062100313
Synopis
From the Journals of Sophia Noirot: A dress is a weapon. It must dazzle his eye, raise his temperature . . . and empty his purse.

A blue-eyed innocent on the outside and a shark on the inside, dressmaker Sophy Noirot could sell sand to Bedouins. Selling Maison Noirot's beautiful designs to aristocratic ladies is a little harder, especially since a recent family scandal has made an enemy of one of society's fashion leaders. Turning scandal to the shop's advantage requires every iota of Sophy's skills, leaving her little patience for a big, reckless rake like the Earl of Longmore. The gorgeous lummox can't keep more than one idea in his head at a time, and his idea is taking off all of Sophy's clothes.

But when Longmore's sister, Noirot's wealthiest, favorite customer, runs away, Sophy can't let him bumble after her on his own. In hot pursuit with the one man who tempts her beyond reason, she finds desire has never slipped on so smoothly . .
My Review
Summary
For years Sophy has dedicated her life to the dressmaker business along with her two sisters. Sophy's talent lies in being able to turn herself into looking like anything and being able to convince anyone off of the street to com into their shop. Shophy has been focusing her attention lately on the recent scandal that threaten to put their shop out of business. Then Longmore's sister runs into a spot of trouble, and flees London. So she joins up with Longmore to help search for her. What Sophy doesn't expect is to find a hidden passion that surfaces between herself and Longmore. For quite a while now there has been a hidden tension that has existed between the two, but now its like a bursting flame only wanting to break free...

The Hero
Harry, Lord Longmore, grew up in a home with a very eccentric mother. He doesn't put much stock into feelings. When he see's his sister struggling, he is helpless. But when she gets caught in a web of scandal and ends up running away. So he along with Sophy go in search across the countryside of England for her. But with Sophy as his partner he finds himself drawn to her, and there is a certain connection between them, one he can't deny any longer.

The Heroine
When Clara runs off, Sophy knows that it is her duty to the store and to her sisters to find her, because she is their one hope of surviving. But then she becomes partnered with Lord Longmore who at times can be intolerable but at oithers can make her want to curl her toes with each sizzling touch. All she knows is that she is torn between her responisbilites and the feelings that are beginning to stir for this one man that could break her heart and could complete her in every way.

My Thoughts
Scandal wears satin is the second in the most recent series by this author. I really loved the first one and so I had some high standards for this one as well. Overall it was the kind of book you can relax with but not one that will be a 'unforgettable romance'. I mean there were parts here and there that were funny and exciting in ways, but I felt like something was missing out of the relationship. I felt like there was more focus on Clara than there was on Harry and Sophy. I have enjoyed seeing Clara and I hope we get to see a happy ending for her, however, its a bit frustrating wanting to see more of the relationship between Harry and Sophy. I think the side story of Clara really railroaded the love story here and it didn't really blossom into any good romance that I am used to seeing with this author. I definitely will read more from this author because I just love the stories I read from her so far. However I think she could have focused a bit more on Harry and Sophy over Clara. I just thought it was a bit too much. But overall not a bad read, it was enjoyable at moments, but it just wasn't a complete package that I was expecting.
