Camille Thompson is the best at what she does—closing deals. That's why real estate developer Vanderhook has sent her to Coral Cove, Florida, where the stubborn owner of the Happy Crab Motel is refusing to sell. Camille's never had a problem turning a "no" into a "yes," but then she's never been so captivated by a man's sexy smile before.
Laidback Reece Donovan likes life simple. No amount of money—or any other temptation Camille can offer—will convince him to give up the one link to his past. Of course, it would be easier without the powerful chemistry raging between them.
As a fragile romance begins to grow, can Reece trust Camille with his secrets? And when promises are broken, along with hearts, can the charm of Coral Cove help bring them back together?
My Review
This is the first book that I have read from this author,
and I really enjoyed this small town romance. I always love small town themed
romances, I feel like I can connect with the characters and the set up of the
story more. In this one, we have a pair that don’t start out the normal
way…they are practically at war with each other but can’t deny the attraction
to each other.
Camille Thompson, is very good at what she does, she makes
deals happen, no matter the cost. Her career is her life, she grew up in a
strict home, and not close to her family, so her job is everything to her
because it gives her purpose until she comes to Coral Cove and meets the
handsome, Reece. Reece is the owner of the Happy Crab Motel, and when Camille
comes to him with a huge amount of money, enough to last him a lifetime, he
turns her down, but Camille doesn’t give up easily. She plans on staying until
he agrees. Thus begins a romance that isn’t your typical run of the mill love
story. We have a book that begins with two people that are on opposite sides of
the fence, but soon they realize their attraction to each other, and even
though technically they are at odds, they can’t help but give into the feelings
they share.
What did I love most about Love Me If You Dare? Well there
was quite a bit I loved about this story. I haven’t read too many small town
romances that are set near the coast. There was a level of sweet charm attached
to the story that really pulls you into the story from beginning. I was hooked
on this story from the first chapter. The connection that we see between
Camille and Reece is instantaneous, with plenty of heat and passion and boy do
they know how to sizzle a room!! They were both unique set of characters, both
strong and each faced hardship in their pasts but overcame them.
Reece is the type of hero that can charm any woman…he is
handsome, loves the water, independent, and very stubborn and likes things his
own way. Camille has her own type of strength, she is capable and self reliant,
she has a very sturdy personality, but she feels isolated at times. She doesn’t
know how to really love others. She soon learns by staying in this coastal
small town, about the intimacy of friendship and what being a lover to Reece
can do.
As a whole, the story is full of easy going tones, and light
hearted laughter, there isn’t much conflict to the plot other than the buying
Reece out deal, so we see much more focus on the building of the relationship
and also the depth behind the characters. They both came alive for me, and I
just loved how this story wrapped up in the end. A story that you can get
comfortable with on a slow evening, with a cup of tea next to your fireplace on
a winter’s night, plenty to entertain, and a winner in my book. This had so
many lovely aspects to the story that culminated in a treat of a read!! FULL OF
DELECTABLE CHARM!
