However as much as she wants to she knows she can't risk telling him the truth no matter how much it makes her ache inside. John, knew that there was no future for them but now he is forever changed from that young innocent stable boy who believed in love and hope for the future. He has created his own future, but Aline has always haunted his thoughts and has come back to get his revenge, only things don't add up and his passion for Aline resurfaces only stronger than ever.....
The Hero (John Mckenna)
John, grew up as a stable boy, and his future was looking pretty bleak, at least apart from having Aline part of his life. But when she betrayed him and he was sent away, he knew he would never forgive or forget. Now he has made a very prosperous life for himself, and his need for justice against Aline is even greater, even though he doesn't know how far he is willing to go....until he tastes her kiss and he knows that the spark between them had never died. And even though he wants to take his vengeance out on her, he knows that he has always loved her and doesn't know if he can bring himself to hurt her....
The Hero (Aline Marsden)
Aline, grew up knowing that there was no future for her or John, especially given whom her father is, and her position in society, however she always had hope in her love for him, but when she was caught and had to force him to leave so that he could make a life for himself, she knew she would never forgive herself and has regretted her decision ever since. But is shocked when he comes back into her life, and the love she once had for him reawakens ever stronger.
My Thoughts
Again The Magic, is the fourth in the Bow Street Runners, I think I may have read this one once before, but I don't remember it but there were parts that seemed familiar. I just fell in love with this book, it was everything I could have hoped for. Aline, is darling, even though I think she could have used more spine to fight for what she really wanted. For some reason John seemed so amusing to me, I really have no idea why, just that his character appealed to me in a certain way that made me smile. I just loved how the story progressed, the bed scenes were very heated but at the same time romantically sweet. I find the more I read this author the more I wish more authors were like her, I just love her stories and how they connect even though the series are different from each other. I also loved how their was a side love story to Aline's and Westcliffs younger sister....I found Again the Magic a very charming love story that just sang to the heart.....even though it had some flaws overall an sweet love story......

Synopsis
She gave him her innocence . . .
Lady Aline Marsden was brought up for one reason: to make an advantageous marriage to a member of her own class. Instead, she willingly gave her innocence to John McKenna, a servant on her father's estate. Their passionate transgression was unforgivable -- John was sent away, and Aline was left to live in the countryside . . . an exile from London society
. . .and he took her love.
Now McKenna has made his fortune, and he has returned -- more boldly handsome and more mesmerizing than before. His ruthless plan is to take revenge on the woman who shattered his dreams of love. But the magic between them burns as bright as ever. And now he must decide whether to let vengeance take its toll . . . or risk everything for his first, and only, love.

I'm glad you liked it!!
ReplyDeleteI actually quite liked it and I love Aline and McKenna - a lot of people say that the Livia and Gideon steal the show but I never thought that - yeah, she could have used more of a spine but she was likable and sweet and it made sense why she behaved the way she did.
Also, loved that McKenna got angry at her for keeping the secret, you know?
Anyway, I'm not sure what series this belongs too, some say it's a Wallflower prequel others than it's bow-street :P that has always confused me.
