Scottish Highland Historical Romance

It has been prophesied that four men, raised as brothers, will bring Scotland back to her rightful glory. It is time for the second to take up his sword.
When a Highland warrior fights, he fights for honor. And when Reeve MacAlpin sees a beautiful stranger surrounded by bandits, he does not hesitate to do the honorable thing and dispatch her would-be assailants. But at her first grateful touch, his instinct to keep her safe is surpassed by a longing to keep her close . . . and to fulfill her every desire.
For as long as Tara can remember, she has lost the people she loves most--a curse that is sure to doom anyone who shows her kindness. She can never love without bringing death--and though her powerful Highlander champion tempts her beyond imagining, she fears that to give herself to him means his downfall. And yet she knows she must tempt Fate . . . for to resist him would be just as unthinkable.

My Review
 Summary
When Reeve, finds a lone woman surrounded by thieves, defenseless and outnumbered, knowing he can't leave her to their mercy, he comes in and saves her from them, even not knowing who she truly is or the danger she may pose to him. Tara, has had to live a very lone existence, but when she meets Reeve, she knows that her life will be different. After being cursed when she was a young girl, she has lost two husbands, and has been labeled the "Death Bride" and having been forced out of her clan, and her family. Now on her way to marry again at her father's demand, she is accosted by thieves wanting her bride price, and is stunned when a handsome and very capable warrior saves her. Even though there is a instant 'spark' that fly's between them, she knows she needs to maintain a distance in order to save his life, but as their journey progresses and they draw even closer to each other, Tara will have to put her faith in their love, since it will be the only thing that could save Reeve from certain death....

The Hero ( Reeve MacAlpin)
Reeve, the second of the four brothers, is determined to make sure he does all that he can to bring the rightful king in place, and his missions are vital, and when he meets Tara, his missions are put on hold, when he see's how much trouble she is in, he decides to take her to his clan and his family, knowing how much she needs a home and a family, and time to convince her that love is powerful enough to outwit any curse no matter the circumstances.

The Heroine (Tara)
Tara, ever since she was young has lived in fear and guilt, and after all that she has gone through, she knows that whatever she feels for Reeve can't go anywhere, not if she wants him to live. But she can't forget how much he makes her feel alive, in a way she has never felt before. Tara is desperate to find any solution to resolve this curse that has been placed on her, no matter what she has to do or sacrifice to save Reeve's life.

My Thoughts
Loved By A Warrior is the second in the Warrior King series, and I think I just fell in love with this one. After seeing Reeve and Tara in A Warrior's Promise, I was very glad to read their story, and it was even better than I expected. From the first paragraph I was hooked. I really like the connection you see from the beginning, and even there were a couple aspects of the story that could be repetitious it was a very likable and enjoyable read. Reeve, is very protective of Tara and doesn't believe in curses, and just believe they are a myth, but he has a lot of faith in his love for her, I found him to be very appealing, especially as the story progressed.  Tara I liked in the beginning and the end, but I think the one thing I didn't like was that she was too selfless at times, and it became repetitious at times, but I really liked at how the story plays out in the end, and I found myself fully satisfied, and wishing it hadn't ended, and I am very much looking forward to reading the last one in the series, especially if its anything like the two books I have read so far. A completely endearing and loveable story with characters that will just win your heart over!!!

For when she is lucky enough to land at the feet of the mighty Bryce MacAlpin, Charlotte is in disguise . . . as Charles.

Bryce can afford no distractions on his vital quest to restore Scotland's true king to the throne. It is madness to instead give his help to this desperate urchin-- especially after Charlotte's secret comes to light Now, caught between a growing passion and his dedication to the king, will Bryce turn away from love in order to fulfill his quest? Or will he discover that promising your heart is the bravest mission of all?
My Review
Summary Charlotte, has lived most of her life protecting herself and her father, now he has been taken by King Kenneth's soldiers, and now she is desperate to find her father at any cost. So she decides to dress like a boy, so its easier to go about the countryside in search of her beloved father. Then she runs into Bryce MacAlpin, who only see's her as "Charles". Bryce, can't believe that he is willing to help this urchin, when he needs to focus on his special quest to restore the true King to power, however there is something about Charles he can't put his finger on, but knows he needs to help him find his father. But when he finds out that Charles is not a boy at all but a beautiful woman...he can't resist the desire he feels for her, and he will have to choose between the duty to his family and country, or the love he feels for Charlotte.

The Hero (Bryce MacAlpin) Bryce is one of the four brothers, that will restore Scotland to glory and to what it was meant to be, and he is totally committed to his duty and to his family, in restoring the true king in his rightful place, and finding a spy. Bryce is a fierce warrior and protector of those that are innocent, when he realizes that Charles is really a woman, he knows he is in trouble, for her beauty and talents, are too irresistable to resist and before he realizes it he knows he is falling in love with her.

The Heroine (Charlotte Semple) Charlotte, ever since she was young, has had to learn to fight, to defend herself and protect her father. Charlotte after losing her mother young, loves her father fiercely and will do all she can to rescue him, no matter the danger. When she runs into Bryce, she knows her life will change forever, for he is the first man she has ever desired. Before she knows it, she is in love with him, and even though she is on a mission to save her father from torture and death, she also can't help the feelings she has for Bryce which could be her downfall.

My Thoughts A Warrior's Promise is the third in the Warrior King Series, and the first I have been able to read in the series so far, and I am totally hooked. Its been a while since I have read from this author, but I have enjoyed her stories, and this was is one of my favorites of her works. I really enjoyed the characters, including the side characters (Bryce's Family), very entertaining and full of life, they almost seemed real. The story kinda started out slow, but once I got into the story it really picked up speed, and I found myself not able to put it down. Bryce, is the kind of hero, the just makes you want to gobble him up and keep him chained in your bedchamber LOL. He is utterly irresistable, protective, and a tender and caring lover, but very dedicated to family and honor, who could resist such a man?? Charlotte, is not your usual heroine, she has had to fight to survive, she is brave and yet she does have a softer side as well, and I couldn't help but love her to pieces, she had qualities that were very endearing. The plot was exciting and definitely had some unexpected surprises, that fully satisfied me. Overall A Warrior's Promise, was a exciting and fun read, with moments of suspense and passion and I can hardly wait to read the rest of the series. A Romance You Have To Read!!!!

Urban Fantasy Romance

For smart and sexy witch Jolie Wilkins, being Queen of the Underworld is a royal pain. With her private life heating up and a battle boiling over, Jolie sets out to prove that in matters of love and war, the fairer hex has its own set of charms
My Review
 Summary
Jolie Wilkins, after her previous adventure with going back in time, is more than ready to take her full place as queen over her people, and to finally be a full part of Rand's life. Even though things seem to be looking up for her, she is still worried for the Lurker threat who endanger her people, and whom they will more than likely be at war with, but with the love of her life, Rand, by her side, she is confident, that as long as they are together, anything is possible. What she didn't take into account, is the close the Lurker threat looms closer, the more she learns of herself, and wonders of her true destiny? Only when she relies on her strong bond with Rand, will she be able to withstand the coming storm that could threaten everything that she holds dear.....

The Hero (Rand Balfour)
Rand, is a Warlock, but is also very much in love with Jolie, and after nearly losing her to Sinjin, he is more determined to hold her even closer to his side, and protect her from any danger. Rand, just like Jolie, has suffered much, but is more than willing to take the risk of their love, despite all the odds that are against them, and only with his love and faith in her will they be able to overcome the danger the threatens their very future.

The Heroine (Jolie Wilkins)
Jolie, a powerful witch and Queen of the underworld, has come back from another adventure that almost cost her, the love of her life, Rand, and even though she hates what Sinjin did to her, she also has mixed feelings, and still cares for him, even though she has bonded with Rand. Now there are some truths that will come into light, that will change her life, but only her love for Rand will sustain her.

My Thoughts
Something Witchy This Way Comes, is the fifth installment in the Jolie Wilkins series. Ever since the first book in the series, I have always loved this story, and I have just loved this author.....although I didn't know how much I would like this book after the last one, but I found that it was entertaining, and filled with suspenseful moments, that I really wondered what would happen next. It wasn't predictable at all, which was one of my favorite aspects while reading it, that there were surprises here and there. I have to say though, normally I hate love triangles, but for some reason in this story, I have just loved the love triangle with Jolie, Rand and Sinjin, it definitely adds flair to the story and enhances the characteristics of the plot. The only thing I didn't like too much, was how indecisive Jolie can be, but I just love Rand, he is so sexy and appealing and his character is so endearing and one can't help but love him to pieces. Overall a fun and intense story that was very satisfying as the end of the series!!!! Truly Enjoyed It!!!

Now, out of a storm of danger, Jonas must guide the woman he loves from a sinister darkness that threatens not only Hannah, but the entire Drake family.
My Review

Summary
Hannah Drake, supermodel, beautiful and gracious has been in love with Jonas for as long as she can remember. Throughout the years, Jonas has been a part of their family, overprotective to the extreme, stubborn and domineering. However Hannah knows he is the only man for her, the only man she could ever love, only she doesn't believe he could love her in return. When she leaves for a job, she is attacked, and almost dies, and when it becomes apparent that someone is out for her blood, she knows she is in grave danger. Only if she puts her trust in the one man she loves more than anything, will they be able to save each other and everyone they both care about.

The Hero (Jonas Harrington)
Jonas, is considered a part of the family when it comes to the drake sisters. He has been with them since he was six years old, and even though he has developed intense feeling for a particular sister, he is still over protective of them all, especially when they step close in the face of danger, which tends to happen frequently. Jonas has always loved Hannah, and even though he hates what she does for a living, he also knows her better than her sisters even do. He has always had a strong connection to her, and he is willing to fight for her, no long how hard or how long it takes to win her over.

The Heroine (Hannah Drake)
Hannah, considered the beautiful one in the family, a supermodel, and very famous, has inner demons that she has even managed to keep from her own family, her beloved sisters. Hannah, has fears that at times with paralyze her, but with her sisters and Jonas at her side, she knows everything will be alright. But when someone tries to kill her, repeatedly she knows she is in grave danger, more danger than she can comprehend. Only with Jonas at her side, will they be able to get to the bottom of it, and maybe she will be able to get a chance to grab onto happiness....

My Thoughts
I have read this book many times, however I haven't written a book review for it yet, so I thought "why not?", especially since this is one of my favorite series. I love all of the sisters, but Hannah holds a special place in my heart. Even though she is a fighter and will fight to the death to protect her sisters, there is also a vulnerability in her, that appeals to this reader, makes her feel more human, with faults and struggles, and you see a side of her that you don't see in previous book. Jonas....good ole' Jonas, whom you can't help but love. Jonas has many domineering qualities, very over protective, stubborn streak a mile wide, but you see how perfect Jonas and Hannah are for each other, and I just love reading Safe Harbor, because you see a deeper aspect to their relationship. A Remarkable Read!!!!
