Synopsis
He was once a captive, but his urges were never caged. Now he’ll release them on a beautiful stranger whose own secret desires are longing to be sated…

He doesn’t have a name. He doesn’t have a clan. The humans who held him prisoner for forty years have taken them away. He knew nothing but captivity until nearly a year ago, when he was released into the light. Now Tiger lives in the Austin Shiftertown, where he struggles to belong and searches for an identity.

Carly Randal thinks her fabulous life is complete—until her car breaks down on the side of the road, and a wild-looking Shifter is the only one to help her. Tiger takes one look at Carly and knows instantly—she will be his mate. As Carly is drawn into his Shifter world, she risks everything she has for that forbidden something she still wants: passionate love
My Review
Now this review will be a bit shorter since I read this almost a week ago, and have been way too busy to write it until now. But especially since I had such a fun time reading this one, I knew I just had to share my review for it. Now I have been waiting for Tiger's story for quite some time now.  I do want to say that as far as shifter series go, this one tops my list for sure. Jennifer Ashley has such a remarkable talent when creating these stellar amazing stories. I have loved every one of the shifter books, but I will say that Tiger is a SENSATIONAL read! I loved every moment. I couldn't put it down at all. There were so many things I enjoyed about this couple. One of the main things, is that to most shifters in shifter town, they are afraid of Tiger and what he will end up doing. When he meets Carly who isn't afraid of him at all, she is intrigued by him more than anything. She doesn't fight his claim on her that much, since they are complete strangers. I found it so adorable when Tiger interacted with the kids (  I guarantee your heart will melt!!!) He is so sweet and tender, and can be super alpha protective that definitely had me from the first page. Tiger is more unique than the other books, since he was created as a shifter, and not made as the other shifters are. In fact he is the only one in existence---so it has a twist to it that I felt was balanced pretty well, and there were many moments that got my heart rate up--who needs to exercise when you have a :"Tiger Hunk" to salivate after right? If you are looking for a love story full of adventure, spice and charm---this one is for you!!! Be read for one helleva ride folks!!

Synopsis

Ellison Rowe, a Lupine Shifter, makes it his goal to protect Maria, once held captive by ferals, from male Shifters looking for mates. He likes Maria's resilience and fire, but she's been broken, and Ellison wants more than anything to heal her. When a new danger threatens Shiftertown's cubs, Maria partners with Ellison to stop a cold-blooded criminal.
My Review

I have such a love for this author and especially her newest series--Shifters Unbound. From the first book I fell in love. I think this series is one of my top paranormal favorites. There is such a magical way that Ashley displays in her writing that captivates the reader, and every time I pick a book up I know I will have a good time. Lone Wolf is Ellison's story, which I have been waiting on for quite some time. Total bad ass cowboy, that is not afraid of anything or anyone. It was great seeing a more intimate side of him, and get a look into what makes him 'tick'. He has a certain attraction to Maria, who has recently arrived, after being rescued from feral shifters. Her past is murky, and her emotions unstable and lives in constant fear, but we see as their relationship becomes more solid that she starts to become more independent, and is working her way to living her life instead of just existing. I enjoyed seeing the way this couple falls in love, and there was quite a bit of  conflict that added a sense of excitement and a unique flair of romance that completely makes you fall in love instantly with Ellison and Maria. Even though its a novella, it was very well done, and it didn't feel too rushed or short in any way, I felt it was perfectly balanced of sensuality, adventure, suspense, and a sweet love story that will bring a tear to your eye. A WINNER OF A READ!

Holiday Historical Romance Novella

Synopsis
The Mackenzies gather for a clan Christmas and New Year's in Scotland. In the chaos of preparations for the celebration--the first of Hart and Eleanor's married life--one of Ian's Ming bowls gets broken, and the family scrambles to save the day. Daniel busily runs a betting ring for everything from the time Eleanor's baby will arrive to whether Mac's former-pugilist valet can win a boxing match to who will be the first of the many guests to be caught under the mistletoe. Ian begins a new obsession, and Beth fears the loss of one of his precious bowls has made him withdraw once more into his private world.

My Thoughts
I can hardly believe it took me so long to read this novella, especially with the whole Mackenzie clan involved here. I should be banging my head against the wall right? Well I have finally repented of this transgression LOL. Last night I bought this for my Nook, and I read it in little time. Jennifer Ashley has always been a weakness of mine, whether its a historical or paranormal, I am always hooked and I know it will be good (it really doesn't matter what its about, I just know it will be a exciting ride) Well I loved this one so much, its definitely in the 5 STARS range. It starts out with the whole Mackenzie clan joining together for Christmas and New Years. We begin with the beginning preparations of the holiday and the whole family joining together. We see plenty of Ian and Beth and Ian's fascination with Ming bowls and when it accidently gets broken, Beth and the rest of the family gang up together to find a way to repair things for Ian. Meanwhile Daniel is getting into his own kind of mischief (of course right? he is a Mackenzie after all). Then we see Hart and Eleanor getting ready for the new birth, which is more trying than blissful for Hart. Plenty of drama to go around the family. Now being a novella, (I usually have issues, considering they are never long enough for me) but I think Ashley did a great job of wrapping things up in the end, and it ended up being one of my favorites. I have just a weakness for Ian and Hart (they are my favorites of all the Mackenzie men) and there is so much involvement with the whole family, and I just enjoyed seeing my favorites coming together. A Perfect read for any time of the year (not just Christmas time--since I read this in MAY), and a wonderful mix of romance and laughter, and a MUST READ!!!

Synopsis
He is a man of simple tastes—and complex pleasures...

Cameron Mackenzie is a man who loves only horses and women—in that order—or so his mistresses say.

Ainsley Douglas is a woman with a strong sense of justice and the desire to help others—even if that means sneaking around a rakish man's bedchamber.

Which is exactly where Cam finds her—six years after he caught her the first time. Only then, she convinced Cam she was seeking a liaison, but couldn't go through with it because of her husband. Now a widow, she's on a mission to retrieve letters that could prove embarrassing to the queen. Cam has no interest in Ainsley's subterfuge, but he vows to finish what they started those many years ago. One game, one kiss at a time, he plans to seduce her. And what starts out as a lusty diversion may break Cam's own rules—and heal the scars of a dark and damaging past...
My Thoughts

Summary
Ainsley, has always felt a obligation to help others when they are in need. So when the Queen asks her to find some letters, she suspects that Cameron Mackenzie may have them. So she sneaks into his room, only to end up getting caught by him, and this isn't the first time it has happened. Cameron, is shocked to find Ainsley in his room, while he is seducing another woman. The timing could have been better. He is beyond angry, the first time he forgived her for. But the second time, he suspects that she has a ulterior motive, and is determined to find out what she is hiding from him. His plan--to seduce her until she completely surrenders to him. Ainsley, has no choice but to find important letters that could end up in a huge scandal for the Queen. But when Cameron sets out to seduce her, she knows she won't be able to resist him for very long. He awakens something powerful in her, a desire explosive and she now wants the one thing she knows he can never give her, but will she be able to live without him?

The Hero (Cameron Mackenzie)
Cameron, has known Ainsley for many years now, but doesn't trust her. He first met Ainsley when he found her searching in his room, and even though she was trying to do a good deed, he knows now she must have a ulterior motive. Cameron has major trust issues, especially when it comes to women. He was once married before, but his wife tortured him and his son in the worst ways, and he was barely able to protect his son Daniel, from a psychotic mother, who was more selfish  than anyone. He has had to raise his son on his own with help from his family. But swore to himself never to marry ever again. He never thought about marriage until he found Ainsley, and knew he needed to keep her in his life.

The Heroine (Ainsely
Ainsley, lost her parents when she was a young girl, so she was raised by her bothers. The oldest Patrick, being only 20 years old. But then she made a mistake, that nearly cost her a scandal, and she was forced to marry a man way older than her. He was a good husband, but now he has died, and she is now a widow. She is currently employed by the queen, and its a comfortable life. The queen has sent her on a mission where she runs across Cameron Mackenzie, who is even more delicious than she remembered. He almost seduced her once when she was married, and now he is even more of a threat. She knows she could very much fall in love with him and very easily. But she knows because of his past, he will never marry her, but doesn't know if she is willing to be his mistress in order to be with him.

My Thoughts
I have finally read Cameron's story and OMG It was such a delicious and seductive read, I had to be fanning myself, it felt like my room was going to explode with such fire. I think this one is one of the most heated books I have read in quite some time. Usually this author, is not as intense, but this one wins hands down. There were so many things I liked about this one. First, is I loved how the story is put together and how at the end everything falls into place. There is such a sense of sexy fun that fills the pages of this book. Jennifer Ashley has such a talent for putting a story together that is heart wrenching, emotionally provoking, and is unforgettable. Cameron wears a kilt, a tormented hero, and has a very passionate nature---I know...totally irresistable right? Ainsley, I found to be an endearing heroine. I can sometimes be picky about heroines, but I found I grew to like her quite a bit. She doesn't fight a whole lot on Cameron's seduction, she accepts him and his past, and she has a sweet nature that I felt I could relate to. She can be feisty and has spirit, but she knows when to pick her battles. I love how these two end up balancing each other out. Such a sensual and heartfelt romance that is a must read for any romance fan looking for a story that will go straight to your heart.

First Line
I saw Mrs. Chase slide that letter into Lord Cameron's pocket. She did it almost under my nose. Bloody woman.

Favorite Quote
Cameron leaned to her. "Unfinished business, Mrs. Douglas. Before you leave at the end of the week, we will finish it. Depend on that."
He jerked her up to him in a sudden movement and caught her lower lip between his teeth.

My Review

Summary
Juliana has been engaged for quite some time, even though its not to the man she truly desires. Then on her wedding day, her fiancee jilts her for his piano teacher without even informing her of his plans, with over two hundred people waiting for them in the chapel. So when she seeks a few peaceful moments, she ends up finding Elliot Mcbride, who has recently returned. She surprises even herself, when she proposes to him, and then he actually says "yes". She knows it won't be a easy union, with Elliot having been a prisoner for quite some time. But she has always loved him, and wants to be his wife more than anything. Elliot, is thrilled with Juliana proposes to him, he has always wanted her, but lately has never felt worthy of her. Elliot has demons and nightmares, and feels like he is almost half mad. But he also knows that he could never let her go when she falls right into his lap. What is a Scot to do? As they start their life together, the road is dangerous and full of twists and turns, but a burning passion builds between Elliot and Juliana. One that turns from a fierce desire to a explosive love that could very well save them both.

The Hero (Elliot McBride )
Elliot grew up in Scotland, and his scots blood will always be a part of him. But then he went to India, where he suffered in ways he never could have imagined. He was taken prisoner for quite some time, and was made to do things and had the most despicable things done to him, that he still feels like he is in a nightmare. Elliot knows that there is a part of him that is very dangerous, especially to those that he loves dearly. He recently discovered he has a daughter, and now a wife that he must be very careful with. He can't control the madness, but Juliana calms him, and pushes the darkness away. But when a old enemy threatens everything he loves, he will fight with every breath to protect his family.

The Heroine (Juliana St. John)
When Juliana is first told that her fiancee, a man she has planned on marrying for quite some time, eloped on their wedding day with his piano teacher, she doesn't believe it. He doesn't even tell her, she learns about it through another. She is shocked and upset, she always though he had respected her at the very least. But when she stumbles literally upon Elliot, she knows he is perfect. She understands that he has suffered greatly, but she has always held him close to her heart, and wants more than anything to share a life with him. She knows that he sufferes nightmares and flashbacks, but he is also very caring and passionate with her. She has never felt more desired or loved than being held in his arms. Even though they have a long road, she is determined to make it a successful one.

My Thoughts
The Seduction of Elliot McBride is the fifth installment in the series. I just fell in love with the previous books...however this one fell a bit short. Don't get me wrong though, it was a fun and easy read, the kind you can relax into, but it didn't fully grasp me, and had me at every page like the previous books in the series had. I really enjoyed the plot and the characters. Elliot, has suffered much in the past, including being a prisoner and still barely sane. He is a very passionate man though, he can't stop making love to his wife. And some of the bed scenes were very playful and fun and I know this is bad...but I almost laughed, they could be quite humorous. Juliana, is very supportive of Elliot, and fully accepts his illegitimate daughter into her home. She doesn't believe Elliot is mad, just trying to heal. The side characters were also fun to see with their little quirks of personalities that just added a flair to the story. I also got to see a bit more of the Mackenzie family, which is always a delight.  I enjoyed how vivid the characters emotions were portrayed throughout the story. It almost felt like they were real, and I could feel what they were feeling...it was so intense at times. Of course there is still Ashley's sharp wit and brilliant writing talent, that is ever present...so no worries on that front. The flow for the most part was pretty smooth like touching glass. Overall a very romantic and poignant love story that will just enchant you and sweep you away into a world of seduction, danger, intrigue, and a intense love story. A winner!

My Thoughts
OH MY GOSH!!! I LOVED this one!! I can't even put into words how much I fell in love with "The Duke's Perfect Wife". I actually haven't read this series for quite a few years, not since they first came out, and I can't believe it took me so long to read this one. Ever since the first in the series, I just fell in love with all of the characters. How great it was to see them all in Hart's story. Hart I have always loved...even though he is manipulative and craves power...but more importantly he loves very deeply. He does everything he can to protect those in his close circle, especially his family. The career he has made for himself is sky rocketing, and is most popular among England, even though he is a Scot and wears a kilt (so so sexy!!!)Eleanor, is a fighter, and I just loved that about her. She stands up to Hart, which could be very amusing, and isn't afraid of him at all. I really loved the sparks that fly between these two...even verbally. The bed scenes...well *sigh* so sweet and tender at times, but very steamy, I felt like I was in a oven!! The plot was very thrilling and exciting, and so mysterious at times, I kept guessing what was going to happen, and I ended up guessing wrong!! LOL Such adventure reading Ashley's historical's. I am never bored, and I always find myself totally engrossed in this one. I always know when I pick up her books I will enjoy it, and it was the same for this one. I think it had me from the first paragraph and I was hooked and It was pretty hard putting it down. I have always loved the way this author writes her stories...so powerful and heart wrenching. It touches something deep inside this reader, and I am sure every other reader who has had the opportunity to read her wonderfully written works. I couldn't help but fall in love with Hart....a hero to just dream about for years!!! A story that will capture your heart and take you on a adventure of love and passion and danger! A Delectable treat.

First Line
Hart Mackenzie. It was said that he knew every pleasure a woman desired and exactly how to give it to her.

Favorite Quotes
Hart leaned down to kiss her. He dropped more kisses to her bare side, and then he forgot about the camera. It tumbled to the mattress while he gently lowered her onto her back, and then he climbed over her, body surrounding hers. Where he belonged. Thoughts of his past, his mistakes, his anger, his misery, were gone. Hart looked into Eleanor's eyes, felt her arms around him, and knew he'd found home.

But Eric is a compelling Shifter male, and Iona's hunger calls to him.
My Review-
Summary
It starts out with half shifter Iona Duncan, being chased by the shiftertown leader Eric Warden, who has constantly been chasing her of late. Iona, is a shifter without a collar, and refuses to go through the collaring, she wants to be free. However Eric knows the danger that Iona is in, if she doesn't put on a collar, soon her shifter side will take over and her common sense will be gone, and all will remain will be her panther side. However even though Eric's argument is a good one, Iona knows that there is more than one reason for not taking  the collar. Iona was raised by a human mother, she never knew her father, and if it comes out that she is a shifter than her mother and sister would pay the price, and she refuses to put them at risk. Even though the chemistry between Eric and Iona is explosive, there is a danger lurking threatning to destroy everything that Eric has worked so hard for both himself and his people.

The Hero (Eric Warden)
Eric, is leader of Shiftertown, and with another shiftertown being shut down and combined with his, problems are escalating to say the least. But when he feels a chemistry build between himself and Iona he knows he is in deep trouble for sure. And admist all the issues he is having to deal with is a wild half shifter female running around and causing him to go near insane with wanting her. But even there is chaos amid his shiftertown he knows that Iona is his future.

The Heroine (Iona Duncan)
Iona, is half shifter, her mother human and her father was full shifter, but left her mother before he even knew she existed. Iona runs with her mother a profitable business, but lately Iona has felt the need to run in her panther form, and its been happening more frequently and she knows she is starting to slowly lose control, and she is aware that there is only one person that could truly help her, one who is insistent on putting on a collar which she refuses to do. But the instant he kisses her, all bets are off and she realizes that things are definitely about to change...

My Thoughts
Mate Claimed is the most recent book in this amazing series, that I have just fallen in love with. Jennifer Ashley is by far one of my favorite authors, I have loved each and every one of her books, and Mate Claimed is at the top of my list. We see Eric in previous books, and he always seemed very sexy and HOT to me and I was so glad when Mate Claimed came out, and the cover is just delicious. The plot starts out with a chase of sorts beween two people that obviously have some strong chemistry going on, but are at the refusal stage. As the story progresses, the plot escalates into suspenseful scenes and a plot that will surprise you when you least expect it, and I just loved the romance of the story, there were a few tender moments that were tearjerking, and other moments that could heat up the room and fog the windows. Overall, a well written, action packed filled romance with a love story that will charm any reader!!!  A Remarkable Read!!!

Shape Shifting/Paranormal Romance
A short novel of the Shifters Unbound series. Spike, a wildcat Shifter and the champion fighter of Shiftertown, is stunned when Myka, the best friend of a dying human woman, announces that Spike has fathered a cub. What's more, the mother is giving the boy to Spike to protect and raise.

Myka, who'd been raised by an abusive stepfather, is not sure that a wild fighter named Spike is the best man to bring up the cute little jaguar cub. She goes to Shiftertown to check out Spike, and finds that the man behind the name is a lonely Shifter who's lost most of his family and is a fierce caretaker to those he has left.

Spike is torn between the cub and his duties as tracker to the Shiftertown leader, and begs Myka, the only person who understands, to help him. He starts to like the sassy Myka, a horse trainer who's not afraid of working with animals, even if they're wildcats who turn into humans.

When Spike's job puts his cub and Myka in danger, Spike is forced to choose between those to whom he's pledged his loyalty and his need to protect the woman and cub he's come to love.
My Review
As this is a short novel in the Shifter Bound series, I though I would do a shorter review for it....Ever since the series started I have been wanting Spike's story, and when I noticed that he was the hero, I was thrilled to say the least. He always made me laugh, and he had spunk, and I really liked that.It starts out with him in a fight with another shifter bear, where he meets Myka who comes to him with a shocking announcement, one that would change him, that he has a cub, a little boy, and this the mother was dying. Thrust into fatherhood pretty quickly, he finds himself overwhelmed but overjoyed as well to have a child. However Myka isn't just going to lie down and let him take over without knowing if Jordan would be safe with Spike. But before she knows it, sparks fly between them and a passion explodes, and Myka realizes she is falling in love with a shifter when she least expected it to. I found Hard Mated to be a fun and enchanting story, with the usual spark that is always in Ashley's novels, and I am growing to love this series even more, since each book just gets better. I have loved her historicals, but I have a weakness for shifter novels, and I think this series is at the top of my list. From the first moment I picked it up I was enthralled, and couldn't put it down!!! A KEEPER!!!!

Shifter Romance

Synopsis
Elizabeth Chapman is saved from an armed robber by a giant Kodiak bear who shifts into a large, well-muscled, and fully bare human. But when it's revealed that the robber is the brother of a dangerous criminal, Elizabeth finds herself the target of a vendetta.

Ronan, the Bear Shifter, takes her to Shiftertown, where she finds that mateless Ronan takes care of Shifters who have no families or clans of their own. Having grown up in foster care herself, Elizabeth can only admire how protective Ronan is, even while she chafes at the confinement.

But Ronan will only let her leave the safety of Shiftertown if he becomes her 24/7 bodyguard. Elizabeth finally agrees. The trouble is, the sassy human Elizabeth is triggering Ronan's long-buried need to find himself a mate.

Summary:
Elizabeth, has worked very hard to make a fresh start, and with her store finally doing well, then one evening someone bursts into her store and attempts to rob her, and then a big kodiak bear saves the day....when Ronan saves Elizabeth from being killed, he ends up being blamed for attacking a human, and only with Elizabeth's testimony does he get free, and he desires to protect her from those who would seek revenge. Elizabeth at first doesn't want to believe in the danger that threatens both herself and her sister, but when she starts to realize who is really involved in getting revenge, she starts to realize that how much she needs Ronan and his protective nature, and sooner than she would ever think she starts to fall in love with the most adorable bear in the county, who despite being a shifter bear, is so tender and loving but she doesn't know if she can trust Ronan or her heart...but she doesn't dare mess up the best thing that has ever happened to her...

The Hero
Ronan, is a shifter, and a kodiak bear, and when he first came to shiftertown he was very reserved and shy, but slowly started to extend outside of his shell, and now he is a foster dad to three bear shifters, who keep him on his toes, but when he meets Elizabeth, his protective streak goes through the roof, and he knows the longer she stays with him, he knows that she is his future mate if only he can get her to trust in their love.

The Heroine
Elizabeth Chapman, has a dark secret that is a part of her past, and in order to protect herself and her sister she had to start a new life and make a fresh start, and right when she thought things were going well and that she could forget the past and focus on her future, but when she is robbed and Ronan saves the day she knows her life has changed forever if she can only trust in his love for her....

My Thoughts
Bodyguard is a e book between the second and third in the series, and its Ronan's story, and those of you who have read this series, just fall in love with Ronan and I would love to find my own 'Ronan'. Bodyguard was such an endearing story and only .99 cents on Kindle, so I was thrilled when it wasn't a short story, but novel size, and I couldn't put it down I was so enthralled by the story. I have noticed that with Jennifer Ashley I think to myself am I really going to like this one, but I am always surprised by how good it is, how much I fall in love with the stories and the characters, and the same is true with Bodyguard. Its probably my favorite book so far in the series, of course the other two are not far behind, I think the one thing that I loved the most, is the romance in this story, so beautifully written and I also enjoyed the conflict, it wasn't the kind the would send your heart racing, yet it wasn't like it wasn't enough of conflict, I found it balanced the story really well and I definitely just loved every aspect....a fun and exciting, and it seemed to be a perfect addition to the best series Ashley has come up with yet....

Book Review-Pride Mates

CALL OF THE WILD

To most, they are animals -- even when in human form. They are to be collared and kept on the fringes of society, scorned because they are feared, hated for their extraordinary powers. And attorney Kim Fraser has to go right into the heart of their lair.

It's her job to defend those in need. But there's absolutely nothing defenseless about Liam Morrissey. His soft Irish lilt and feline grace can't disguise his sheer strength. Nor can the silver chain at his throat, designed to control the aggression of his kind, completely reassure her that this man has been tamed.

Yet when a feral shifter begins to stalk them both, Liam is the only one she trusts with her life. She'll let him claim her -- for her protection, for her pride, and for a passion that knows no bounds.

MY REVIEW
Summary:
Liam Morrissey, like many of his kind knows that no good can come from trusting humans, all he can trust is his people. But then one of their own gets into trouble with the law and an Attorney Kim Fraser, comes to speak with him, to help him and his kind. Kim Fraser knows not much of the shifter laws but is determined to make sure her client is proved innocent and comes to Liam for his help. Kim definitely is out of her game when she calls on Liam, and before she realizes it she is in way over her head and the attraction between herself and Liam is about to get that much dangerous. When both of their lives are put at risk, will they have to learn to trust one another and the strong connection that is beginning to develop if they want to come out on top...

The Hero (Liam Morrissey)
Liam, finds Kim to be very unusual for a human, and knows that she could be very dangerous, not to his kind and fellow shifters....but to him. There is a strong sensual attraction that develops and soon he finds that he doesn't want to let her go and he knows that he must protect her when she is willing to risk her own life to help the shifters, knowing the she could be shunned by her own kind for doing so. Liam knows that the Alpha side of him to give in to the need to protect her at all costs...

The Heroine (Kim Fraser)
Kim Fraser, knows that the moment she steps into the shifter territory that she could be risking her life, but the moment she does she finds that she only wants to learn more of them and when she meets Liam she knows her life will never be the same again. There is a wildness about him that only feeds her passion for him and when danger threatens them Kim is willing to do whatever it takes....

My Thoughts
Pride Mates is the first in the Shifters Unbound series and since I have just loved reading Jennifer Ashley's historical's, I thought I would try this one out especially since I have heard many good things about it and found that I have just fallen in love with the story line and the characters, and this enchanting novel definitely whetted my appetite. I think I just fell in love with everything about this book apart from one aspect however overall it was everything one would need in a paranormal romance, and it did that and more for me, I couldn't read the pages fast enough I loved it so much and there was such a sensual and exciting aspect to the story as well as a dangerous one full of intrigue and fast paced action. I am looking forward to reading more in this series!!! Definitely a Winner!

Summary:
Isabella six years ago, shocked everyone including her own family, when she married Mac Mackenzie, and since then their marriage has been stormy to say the least. Despite the fact that they both love each other, they each hurt each other, and its a never ending cycle. Now after having been separated for three years, Mac enters back into Isabella's life, much to her dismay. She wonders what game he is playing at, but the more he appears in her life, the more she becomes convinced that he is sincere in wanting her wholly into her life. However she remembers the pain they have both suffered in the past, and her fears holds her back from embracing their marriage as it was in the beginning. But with all the turbulent storms that are rising between them, there is also a danger that could threaten both of them.

The Hero
Mac Mackenzie is a painter, and a well talented one at that. However his marriage and what it has become has haunted him. Mac is a charming devil who used to love to travel, paint and drink, only coming to Isabella when he felt he needed to. Then a tradegy hit them both, and finds himself separated from Isabella legally, and for three long suffering years, he has lived without her, but endeavoring to make himself worthy of her once more. But the road is just about to get even tougher, as he has to convince the one woman that hold his heart, to take him seriously and believe in him once more. Because she is his inspiration for his painting and his life.

The Heroine
Isabella when she was eighteen was young and in love, and shocked everyone in society including her family in running off with Mac Mackenzie and marrying him. Being cut of from her family, she has not heard from her parents or her sister whom she misses deeply. Now six years later, despite how much she loves Mac, she has been separated from him for three years, since a tradegy hit them both, and have both suffered pain and loss. However Mac has reappeared in her life, wanting her back, and Isabella fears that he will hurt her again, only more so this time. Isabella is a woman of strong character, but lives in fear of pain and loss, and has a hard time trusting the one person whom she has loved more deeply than anyone else. But she aches to be with him again, and to have that hope of having a family.

My Thoughts
Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage is the second installment in the Highland Pleasures series. After reading the first one The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie, it was a delight to finally read Isabella and Mac's story. I found both of these characters a delight, and loved seeing both sides to their story. Both Isabella and Mac have suffered pain and loss, and having caused pain to one another, but they are also very deep and were brought out vividly throughout the story, that I felt I got to know them both as separate individuals, which was a treat. I have adored reading this story, as much as I adored the first one in the series. There was the perfect mixture of passion, intrigue, danger, and love that brought out a delectable story that had me until the very last page. Truly a romance that was heartfelt throughout the whole by this reader!!!

My Favorite Quote:
"It is a game, my love," He held her gaze " It is the most serious game I have ever engaged in. And I intend to win it. I will have you back Isabella--in my life, in my house, and in my bed,"

Book Review-Penlope & Prince Charming

Penelope And Prince Charming
Nvengaria
Jennifer Ashley
Leisure, 373 Pages,
Published April 2006
Regency Romance
ISBN: 0-8439-5606-2

Synopsis
THE PLAYBOY PRINCE

His blue eyes beguiled. His muscular form could have satisfied any fantasy. He had a delicious foreign accent-and to top it off, he was royalty! What woman would dare refuse the most sought-after lover in Europe? Miss Twice-a-Jilt Penelope Trask, that's who. And, unfortunately for Damien, marrying Penelope was the only way to inherit his kingdom. Good thing this enchantingly infuriating woman didn't seem completely immune to his many charms. The passionate way she returned his kisses told Damien he wasn't the only one head over heels. But wooing was difficult amid assassination attempts, wild magic, and desire so strong it threatened t to overwhelm him every time they touched. Why had no one mentioned the road to happily-ever-after was so difficult?

My Review:
Penelope Trask, has been jilted twice in the past, and is determined not to have her heart broken a third time. Penelope lives in a home with her mother, soon to be step father, and soon to be step sister; all of whom she is dearly close to. Prince Damien of Nvengaria is the most sought after man in Europe. Every woman would feel grateful to be chose to be his bride. However once he meets Penelope he realizes that there is only one woman that he wants to be with, it will be a challenge to convince her of that however. Damien is informed however, that Penelope is the only woman that he can marry to regain his country, kingdom, and his people. So Damien goes about convincing her how important it is that they get married and go through all the rituals. Damien not knowing if magic of the legend is at work or just his own heart, knows he is falling heads over heels in love with Penelope. Penelope finds it hard to believe that they could fall in love so fast. She desires to be wanted as a woman, and not someone to get his rights to his kingdom. However, with much thought on the matter, Penelope agree's to marry this handsome rogue of a prince. They then journey toward his home Nvengaria and she leaves all that she has ever known. Both Damien and Penelope start to journey to a world filled with magic, love, and adventure.

Although I enjoyed reading Penelope and Prince Charming, I felt there was something missing throughout the whole of the book. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it just didn't flow as much as I though it would. I have loved reading Jennifer Ashley, and I will admit I was a bit disappointed with this one. Although the characters were well developed I found their relationship wasn't as connected as I thought it should have been. Other than that it was a well written story with plenty of romance, sensuality and adventure to satisfy you.

Book Review- Immortals: The Redeeming

The Immortals: The Redeeming
Immortal Series
Jennifer Ashley
Love Spell, 324 Pages,
Published September 2008
Fantasy Romance
ISBN: 0-505-52745-6

Synopsis
For centuries they have walked among us--vampires, shape-shifters, the Celtic Sidhe, demons, and other magical beings. Their battle to reign supreme is constant, but one force holds them in check, a race of powerful warriors known as the IMMORTALS

He is going to take her. And it won't be gentle. After all, the last 700 years of torture and captivity haven't been gentle on Tain. This woman, this half-demon who leaves him burning with desire, is pretty tough herself. She needs to be, for the world is not safe for demon-kind these days. A violent backlash has disrupted the balance of power, and now Tain finds he may have to rescue the dark ones instead of fight them. He feels compelled to protect the alluring Samantha--whether she wants him to or not--but all he can think of is seduction. Ultimately, she'll either destroy him or bring exactly what he needs most...THE REDEEMING

My Review:
Samantha is half demon and half human; her father was demon and her mother human. Most of her life she despised her father for what she thought he did to her mother. However lately she see's more of him, and her heart softens toward him. About a year ago, she helped save Tain from being in captivity by a powerful demon for over 700 years. Tain still suffers affects from being imprisoned for over 700 years being a captive and being tortured. Its been a year, and Samantha still thinks about Tain, she is a cop for the Paranormal Police. When she is trying to undermine a drug problem that is surfacing among demon clubs, she comes face to face with Tain who has re-entered her life. Even though Tain has feelings of hatred and disgust with the past demon who captured him, he feels drawn toward this courageous young woman, who is half demon. He feels the need to protect her, even though he has destroyed many demons. Now being in Samantha's life, he wants to protect the demon world more for her sake. As the plot thickens with intigue and danger, so does the sensual connection between them. Samantha has always felt drawn toward Tain, he seems to understand her more than anyone else has ever done. As she finds herself falling in love with the powerful Immortal, there are things she must decide about her own future that will change her very lifestyle forever.

I really enjoyed reading Tain and Samantha's story, it was a very compelling read. This is the second one that I have read in the series, and yes I am reading them out of order. Which you will find is what I do!!! I wondered when I first started reading this one, how Tain and Samantha's romantic relationship would progress. Tain has suffered greatly from being tortured for 700 years, and this story takes place a year after he is freed by his brothers, their wives and Samantha. Samantha was raised by her mother, never having known her father until this book. Which I enjoyed that aspect of this book, that there was a lot more in it than just Tain and Samantha's story. In the last book, Samantha has much disgust and hatred for her father. However once she learns the real truth her perspective changes quite a bit. Also on the other side of that, you see Tain interact with his brothers quite a bit which was  very enjoyable. Overall I really enjoyed this book, it was filled with everything that a paranormal romance reader loves. It was well written, has deep characters and a plot filled with romance, adventure, creatures of the paranormal world and a mystery that will unravel and perhaps even surprise you!
