Book Synopsis (Goodreads)
Lion Breed, Rule Breaker had just a few rules he didn't break. Not for anything. Not for anyone.

#1. Never have sex with a woman outside his own subspecies, especially a human woman.

#2. Never, at any time, accept a mission concerning a female when Jonas Wyatt stinks of a lie.

#3. Run don't walk, skip or stumble. Run, hell for leather away from any female, human or breed, when his desire for her appears, in any way, to have so much as a single sign of Mating Heat.

Now, the woman believes he's mated, is too helpless, to fun loving and too full of life to ever be able to protect herself, let alone aide him in protecting her.

If the damned animal inside him insisted on a mate, then why pick the woman it did? One that could be struck out at, at any time?

But, what he suspected was a mating, may not be. No swollen glands? No heat? Just his animal instincts rioting, pacing, irritated whenever he's away from her.

Okay, he could handle that.

What ensues is a fiery affair that breaks all the rules of mating heat and will eventually endanger his mate with the very rules designed to protect the breeds when Jonas learns she's possibly been working against them

Book Review-Bengal's Heart

Bengal's Heart
Breeds (19)
Lora Leigh
Berkley Sensation
Paperback August 2009
338 Pages
Shifter Series
ISBN: 978-0-425-22902-6
Synopsis
New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh returns to the world of the Breeds where animal instincts rule and anyone can fall prey to the mating heat...

Reporter Cassa Hawkins has always supported Breed rights believing they should be allowed to live free of fear and prejudice among the humans. A reasonable woman couldn't think otherwise, especially not in the presence of Cabal St Laurents, a spectacularly muscled Bengal. The epitome of the male animal, his sensual growl can fire up Cassa's vulnerable body faster than a flame. Yet neither can ignore the night mare unfolding around them...

The Breeds have been incriminated in a series of violent murders must discover the truth. But as hunter becomes prey, are trust and passion enough to keep them alive through the night?

MY REVIEW
Summary:
Cassa Hawkins has always been supportive of breeds and their rights, and being a journalist has always tried to put them in the positive light as much as possible.  However the breed's have never made it easy for her, and for years she has resisted Cabal, who if he decided to claim her she would be his mate. Having to suffer with the hormone treatments to regulate the symptoms of the heat, the past several years haven't been easy on her especially when seeing him with countless women. So when Cabal decides to claim her as his mate now, Cassa resists because she doesn't want to be part of a 'harem' of women, only now not only is their danger to her heart there is also danger circling around her when their lives are threatened, and they must work together if they want to get to the bottom of what is really going on...

The Hero (Cabal St. Laurents)
Cabal, a bengal,  suffered like many other fellow breeds, but now like many others trying to build a life for himself, and now with Cassa digging for the truth that could get her easily killed, knows that he must protect her at all costs especially knowing that she is his mate and can't let her go despite her protests. As the danger to them both escalates so does his feelings for her, where he starts to desire much more than sex, he desires love and contentment, and knows that he can only find it in her arms.

The Heroine (Cassa Hawkins)
Cassa, a journalist only shares what she knows to be the truth and has always tried to put the breeds in a better light than most of her colleagues would. Ever since that one fateful night that changed her life forever, she has tried to move on and resist the signs of the mating heat, but now with Cabal so near and protective, she knows that her feelings for him will only grow, but desires one thing from Cabal that none other can give her...his love but wonders if he can ever come to love her.

  My Thoughts
Bengal's Heart is the 19th in the Breeds series. There are some books in this series that I have like more or less than others, but I truly enjoyed reading Bengal's Heart. There was a lot of steamy scenes that could singe your eyebrows if you're not careful, however there was also focus on the romantic relationship between Cabal and Cassa which I enjoyed even more. The interaction between these two could be intense but also make a reader laugh. I loved the humor in this story that the author portrayed, and I loved the plot, never a dull moment would sum it up pretty nicely. One of my other favorite aspects to the book was that there was a mystery to be solved, and I have always had a weakness for a good mystery, so there were multiple reasons that I enjoyed Bengals Heart. Overall an enjoyable read, with exciting scenes and deep connection between the characters and a few steamy scenes makes for a Amazing Romance that only Lora Leigh can produce.

Lora Leigh
Berkley Sensation
Paperback
Published April 2011
307 Pages
Fantasy/Shape Shifter Romance
ISBN: 978-0-425-23978-0

Synopsis                                                                                   In the wolf breed novel, NAVARRO’S PROMISE, Mica Toler’s best friend is the wolf/coyote hybrid breed, Cassie Sinclair. And now Mica is being drawn into her world in ways she had prayed she never would be when the charming wolf breed Navarro makes good on the promise he made her on a dark, explosive night.

The Breeds guaranteed that no harm would come to Micah Toler but they never allowed for her sensual fascination with Navarro Blaine. Aloof, cool, and mysterious, he draws her in as no man ever has. But Micah never wanted this. She had her own dreams, her own desires, and being stalked and seduced by a wolf breed wasn’t part of that plan.

Now she knows her life is in danger. What Navarro knows is that she’s his mate and that the breeding and training that created him is being peeled away in his desperation to claim a woman that refuses to be claimed.

He has her body. She craves his touch. And as the breeds converge the past will rise up to haunt Navarro in ways he never expected.

Summary:
Mica, is protected by the breeds due to her relationship with them. Mica is then attacked when she is alone, and in danger, and there is no one that knows how much danger she is in. She is then attacked and on the run from council coyote breeds who are out to get her so they can kidnap her and use her as leverage...but then she is rescued by Navarro, whom even though he is unsure whether Mica is his lifemate wants her with a desperation and craves her like he has no other. Mica even though she wants Navarro, she knows they have no future because of the type of breed he is where he could never come to love her....since she doesn't know if he is even capable of such emotion.

The Hero (Navarro Blaine)
Navarro has always had a fascination with Mica, even though he was trained to blend in, and be cool and aloof he finds that he can't be that way with Mica. The moment he hears that she is in danger he sets out to protect her....but then he starts to realize that she is his mate and he sets out to seduce her and claim her as his own...

The Heroine (Mica Toler)
Mica, an only child has known the breeds for the majority of her life, and has become best friends with Cassie, and when she is in danger she flees not knowing how long she can be on the run from the coyotes that are out to get her knowing they can use her against the breeds. Then she is rescued by Navarro and things only increase in intensity when she starts to realize that they could be mates...but she won't settle for anything else than a love match.

My Thoughts
Navarro's Promise is the 24th in the Breed series by Lora Leigh. I have really loved this series....and I found that this was a exciting one....and having seen Navarro in previous books in the series...I have been looking forward to his story. What this story really boils down to is how we see Navarro who is suppose to be unable to feel unable to have emotion such as love...only he learns that Mica is the one who can change things for him. There was a dangerous element as well to the plot.....and the sensual side was very steamy...but defintiely a powerfully seduction read that will make you go wild!!!

Synopsis

Bad boy Jonas Wyatt's personal assistant, Rachel, has had a child -- an innocent new life that has been put in grave danger because of Jonas's perilous games and calculations played in the shadow-world in which he lives: the dark and sensual world of the Breeds. Now, Rachel is making only one demand of Jonas:. that he finally take responsibility and deliver on the protection that only he can give.

Jonas has known for a long time that it is destiny that Rachel become his mate. He can sense it. He can also sense her reluctance. And for that, he refuses to claim her. He wants her on love alone and not because of the urge of the mating heat. But it is Jonas's destiny to claim her. And he will have his way...

MY REVIEW
Summary:
Rachel's life is turned upside down, when her daughter is taken from her, and knows there is only one breed who can help her, for his plans are what has caused danger to her daughter in the first place. Jonas, knows that Rachel is his mate, but has refused in claiming her for his own, but now a infant, whom he considers as his own, is put at risk, and will do everything he can to protect them both. Even though Jonas knows that Rachel is part of his destiny, he knows he needs her love, and will fight with every weapon he has in order to have theirs be a loving even though heated bond....only he must convince Rachel of his devotion....

The Hero (Jonas Wyatt)
Jonas is the leader of the breeds sanctuary, and his word is law. Jonas has had to be manipulative and cunning for those that are under his command. Jonas is a very strong and capable leader, but when Rachel becomes his assistant, he finds that she is his lifemate, even though refusing to accept her hurts him, he knows that he must be able to convince her first before he can ever experience that true connection he has seen other mated breeds have...and is willing to fight with every breath he can.

The Heroine (Rachel)
Rachel, knew that when she accepted the job as Jonas' assistance that she would have to fight him tooth and nail on about everything, however she never expected to feel a searing heat whenever he was near, or that she would have to come to him for protection for herself and her daughter, and that he would be her destiny in ways that she never imagined....

My Thoughts
Lions Heat is the 21 in the Breeds series by Lora Leigh. I have read this book when it first came out, but I have been a lot of this series lately, and Lion's Heat has always been one of my favorites to read, and last week I was in the mood to read Lion's Heat, especially since I had yet to do a review for the book. Lion's Heat is a thrilling and intense story filled with heat, intrigue and danger, and a romance of two people that are meant to be but fight to deny it in the process. I just love Jonas, even though he is pure alpha male, but worse is that he is very controlling on every situation and can be very manipulative. However he has met his match with Rachel, who can be just as manipulative, but still has a endearing quality about her, that you can't help but cheer her on. There was such magic to this story that you can't help but keep reading from beginning to end without putting it down. A THRILLING TALE!!!!

My Favorite Quote
The woman was everything he could have wanted in a mate. She was the dream he'd never allowed himself to wish for. This was a temptation he knew he could never allow himself to weaken to. It was a vow. And this small woman was shredding his determination one look, one word, one breath at a time.

MY REVIEW
Summary:
Storme, has been on the run since she was fourteen years old, when her father and brother were viciously killed by breeds, she has been determined to make sure that what they are after now will never fall into their hands. But while she is on the run, she ends up being saved by Styx, who is wolf breed, but then she feels betrayed after a night of pleasure to be in the hands on Jonas and the other breeds who only want whats on a data chip, and are more determined than ever to get their hands on it. Styx knows where his loyalties lie, but after being with Storm, he knows that she is his mate, even though the bonding scent isn't fully there, but finds himself choosing between his loyalty to the Breeds or the one woman who makes him feel clean and whole....

The Hero (Styx Mackenzie)
Styx Mackenzie, as a Wolf Breed has suffered just as much pain and torture as his brethren have, and having freedom and being able to make a life for himself. From the first moment he touched Storm he knew he was lost, and that he would do everything to protect her and keep her safe from those that would do her harm. Even though his mission is to get the location of the data chip, his loyalties start to become divided when he starts to come to the knowledge that Storm is his mate and will do all he can to prove it and make sure to protect her both from herself and those that see her only as a prisoner and a pawn....

The Heroine (Storme Montague)
Storme has spent most of her teen and adult life in fear of the breeds and knowing the harm that they could do, having witnessed it firsthand when her family was killed right in front of her. Having been on the run ever since she trusts no one until she gets rescued by Styx and she knows that she must defend her heart from his advances because she fears losing herself if she falls in love with the sexy breed who is very different than any other breed she has known, and before she realizes it she wonders if she could ever fully escape from him when she craves to just be in his arms....

My Thoughts
Styx's Storm is the  22nd installment in the Breeds Series by Lora Leigh. I have just loved reading this series, and I have looked forward to reading Styx's storm since it first came out and I am so glad to have finally gotten my hands on it... Styx's Storm is a exhilarting ride of adventure, passion, and love. I found both the characters enlightening...both stubborn as ox, but both feel a connection to each other, and are unable to resist the sensual heat they feel, and they become swept up in the desire and soon they start to fall in love with each other, and such a beautifully written tale of how love can conquer fear, and a painful past. A heartwrenching story that will leave you breathless!!! A Unforgettable Read!!!!

My Favorite Quote
A new beginning. Storme stared back at her lover. Her mate. The man who had wiped away the fear, the misunderstandings. The man that loved her. His hand lifted, the backs of his fingers smoothing her cheek. "My perfect storm," he whispered. And he was her Styx. Her Heart.

She finds solace in the silence and heat of the desert. But when Breeds begin dying on her watch, Megan realizes that the secrets from her past can't stay buried forever. Someone is out for blood--her blood.

An arrogant Feline Breed, Braden Arness broods with feral intensity. His mission to solve the mysterious murders brings him to Megan, a woman who accosts his senses like no other. Only with him can she let down her guard--and surrender to the insatiable hunger that wracks her body. But as they team up to hunt the elusive killers, Braden and Megan find themselves becoming the prey...

MY REVIEW

Summary:
Megan Fields, has the ability to feel the emotions of those around her. So she isolates herself in a small remote area of New Mexico, where she can be near those that she has grown up near to. So when danger finds her, and some coyote breeds after her life, she is saved by Braden Arness, who is a lion breed. From the first moment that Braden sees Megan, he feels the most strongest feelings of desire he has ever experienced, and knows that she feels the same, and its only a matter of time before he claims her as his mate, if only he can convince her to surrender to the insatiable passion that they both strongly feel for one another....

The Hero (Braden Arness)
Braden, is a breed (a Lion) and is very powerful with his animal instincts, but has learned to control them over the years, as have many breeds have had to do. When Braden finds his mate, he is overcome with such intense need for her and her alone. Braden, is intent on making sure that they uncover the truth on who is trying to kill her and make sure they never are able to threaten her again...no matter the cost.

The Heroine (Megan Fields)
Megan has suffered with her gift, or as she refers to it...a curse to be a empath and feel what everyone is feeling. Megan in her past had a hard time building up shields to protect her, and when she is around Braden, she doesn't need shields, she feels so safe whenever she is near him. But what Megan doesn't expect is the intense desire she starts to feel for Braden, and knows that her life will change forever...

My Thoughts
Megan's Mark is the seventh in the Breeds series by Lora Leigh. Megan's Mark is a powerful story of a woman who hates the gift that she has been given, and has never been able to learn to control it, and a danger that could threaten her and everyone in her life that she cares about, unless both Braden and Megan uncover the truth before its too late. I found Megan's Mark an insatiable read, full of steamy romance and thrilling excitement and so intriguing it will delight every one of your senses. Another winner from Lora Leigh!!

Book Review-Dawn's Awakening

Dawns Awakening
Breeds Series
Lora Leigh
Berkley,
281 Pages
Published Feb 2008
Fantasy Romance
ISBN: 978-0-425-21975-1
Synopsis:

New in the sexy paranormal series that put Lora Leigh on the bestseller lists.

"Leigh draws readers into her stories and takes them on a sensual roller coaster."*

An erotic thrill ride about genetically altered Breeds with feline DNA-and the humans who arouse their lust.

The runt of the lab she was created in, Dawn Daniels endured years of torture by her pride brother and the council soldiers. Finally freed from her torment, she's now a Breed Enforcer, in control of her own life. Until she's assigned to protect the one man destined to be her mate- and realizes it's far too easy to lose total control.

My Review:
Well I just finished Dawn's Awakening so I thought that while it was real fresh in my mind I might as well write the review for it!!! Dawn Daniels, in her young life endured years of torture, especially by the council. She is then freed by her brother, the pride leader Callen, but whom she feels a lot of hatred toward. Now years later, she is tormented by her mate, Seth Lawrence, where its been ten years and he has moved on with his life, and the mating hermone is no longer in his body, but she still burns for him, and not knowing if it will be in her for the rest of her life, but knowing that she desperately needs him, despite how much hurt they both have experienced. Now when Seth's life has been put into danger, she has to be so close to him, and a desire that nearly overwhelms them both, and changes the course of both of their lives. But now not only has Seth's life been put in danger, now Dawn is in danger from the one that tormented her so in her past, not knowing if this one enemy of hers could destroy everything beautiful that both She and Seth have created, only to have it crumble and fall.

Dawn's Awakening is a sensual yet emotionally compelling story that will have you tied in knots, just like I was. From the first page, my heart truly went out to the heroine, for she suffered so much, and now has built a life for herself, and despite the fact she still feel the mating heat, her mate doesn't, which only makes her suffer even more. So when she hears that not only does he not feel it anymore, he is getting married to someone else, she finds herself falling out of control, and not knowing what she may do. But then they collide passionately, they no longer can deny what they feel for one another. Dawn's Awakening is a story that I just loved. I just love the Breeds series, much more than Lora Leigh's other series though. Dawns Awakening has a action packed plot, a sensual passion that bursts at the seams, and a love that can survive the most challenging circumstances. Its definitely not one you want to miss out on reading, especially if you have come to adore Lora Leigh as I have!!! This one is defintely a keeper and should never be missed on reading!!

Book Review-Tanner's Scheme

Tanners Scheme
Breeds Series
Lora Leigh
Berkley,
330 Pages
Published August 2007
Shifter Fantasy  Romance
ISBN: 0425216616

Synopsis:
The author of Megan's Mark and Harmony's Way delivers a new novel set in an alternate world where genetically altered Breeds and the humans who created them sometimes come together in the fiercest of passions...

A one-time high-ranking member of the Genetics Council, Scheme Tallant's father will stop at nothing to see the Feline Breeds eradicated. Even if it means killing his own daughter...

After the Breeds' main base is attacked, Tanner Reynolds desires revenge--and knows just how to get it. In a bold move, he kidnaps Scheme Tallant and takes her deep into the Kentucky mountains. Yet when Tanner discovers that Scheme herself is a target of her father's ruthless mission, his vengeance must take a backseat to saving the life of the woman he hopes to claim as his mate. But can Scheme trust Tanner--or is she just a pawn of his passion and ploys?

My Review:
I am still completely amazed by how well Lora Leigh writes her stories, she is such a riveting author where her exciting stories just come to life; and and draws the reader into a whirlwind of passion, adventure and classick love stories that will pull at your heartstrings. the Characters: Tanner and Scheme are also deeply portrayed. Scheme has suffered greatly under the hands of her father and his minons. Scheme wants to do everything in her power to destroy him, but she knows she has to find evidence against him first, but when she is about to set her plan in motion, she is kidnapped by Tanner who at first believes her to be in league with her father. After all that he and his fellow breeds have suffered at the hands of her father, he wants revenge and justice. However upon learning the truth he goes about to protect her, no matter the cost. But Scheme doesn't know who she can really trust, but the more she spends in Tanner's arms, her will wavers and she starts to question whether or not she should let him into her life and her heart.

I truly enjoyed reading Tanner's Story, it was definitely more on the thrilling side of things. Of course I love the plot, where Scheme hides things from Tanner even though she years to trust him and not knowing if she does will it be a mistake or the biggest reward of all. Tanner on the other hands, knows she lives in fear and desperation but also can smell the lies that she tells him, there is a powerful attraction between them, but at first Tanner doesn't believe she is his mate, but time will only tell. I think this is one of those that can be a re-read. Of course if you love shifter romances, and if you love Lora Leigh than you will fall in love with Tanner's Scheme, which is a enthralling love story from beginning to end!

Synopsis:

Yet she has no idea of the danger she’s about to encounter—or the passion she’s about to ignite in one of the greatest Breeds ever created.

My Review
When there is a suspicion at the "Sanctuary" that someone is a spy in their own camp they decide to bring in Ria Rodriquez, a talented woman at finding leaks. Ria has grown up in foster homes and never having a "home" until she turns eighteen Dane Vanderale offers her a job, for both him and his father Leo. She finds a family and home with them, feeling like she has found she has a place where she belongs, even though Dane has been quite frustrating as most breed males only can be. When she goes to the "Sanctuary" she meets up with Mercury Warrant who is her bodyguard, and a sensual desire flames up between them, blazing hot. Ria knows that she has a job to do, but at the same time she is drawn to Mercury whose mate died years ago. She is looking for more than a one night stand, she wants a loving relationship and knows her heart will only be broken in the end. Obstacles get thrown in their way that will prove how strong their love really is.

I have realized I should have started reading Lora Leigh many months ago, this having been the first book that I have read of hers, I have found out that she is one of my favorite fantasy romance authors. I had heard such great things about her books, and they were all right. Lora Leigh delivers THE BEST in my book!!!!I found this book to be so sinful it should be awful it was so wonderful to read. I truly loved Ria, she is one of those heroines that stands up to the alpha type male, and stands her ground until of course his kisses melt her senses away, (which I have to say was thoroughly enticing) I also loved the conflict of when his supposed mate comes back to life, and doesn't know which one is really his mate. My heart ached for the position that they both were put in, and how its a classic story of how true love does conquer all obstacles, no matter what they may be. It was a thrilling ride of adventure and passion!!!
