THEY MEET IN A SMALL ISLAND TOWN IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, WHERE MAGIC IS IN THE AIR AND FATE IS A FORCE TOO POWERFUL TO DEFY. . . .

In New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas's Crystal Cove, Justine Hoffman has made a comfortable life for herself on the island of Friday Harbor. She is the proprietor of a successful boutique hotel, and she has the safe, predictable life she has always wanted. Growing up with her flighty, nomadic mother, Marigold, has instilled in her a deep longing for stability. But in spite of everything Justine has achieved, there is still something missing. Love. And after years of waiting and dreaming, she is willing to do whatever it takes to change her destiny.

What Justine soon discovers is that someone cast a spell on her when she was born, with the result that she will never find her soul mate. Determined to change her fate, Justine finds a way to break the enchantment, never dreaming of the dangerous complications that will follow.

And when Justine meets the mysterious Jason Black, she accidentally unleashes a storm of desire and danger that threaten everything she holds dear . . . because Jason has secrets of his own, and he wants more from her than fate will ever allow.

Jason is keeping a secret from her, but there is a stronger connection between Justine and Jason that surpasses any hidden agenda, and strikes straight to the heart, but will their love be strong enough to save them both from fate?

My Thoughts
I saw Crystal Cove on the shelf at my local library...and I almost went into shock since this one just came out a couple months ago. And usually with such a popular author, it would take 3-4 months before I would be able to get my hands on this. Normally I would have wanted to read Dream Lake first, but I take books when they are available, so I was hoping I wouldn't be too lost when I started to read this. As a fan of Lisa Kleypas there hasn't been a book of hers that I haven't liked. There were quite a few things that I liked about this book, a few things that I didn't like. But overall I totally learned to love this story. Jason, is definitely ALPHA WOW Male LOL, he is deliciously yummy, but needs to be in control of every situation. Although the way he is with Justine was almost priceless. He is the type where everyone jumps to attention whenever he is around, but Justine doesn't. She stands on her own, and doesn't give in to his every demand =which I really liked about her. Justine has been raised a witch, but doesn't practice in fully, until she discovers her curse. Justine craves a real relationship and being able to find someone to love. After she meets Jason, his life is so different from hers, but she feels a connection to him, where she feels able to laugh and play and the ability to open her heart to someone for the first time in her life. The story line was full of everything that makes for a strong story. I found it to have a beautiful magical tone. Now for a couple of things that I didn't like so much. One is the powerful tone of magic that is shown through this story, the sense of Jason not having a soul--it was a bit disturbing at times. I felt like it just wasn't Kleypas style in ANY way. The past books in the series, had a lighter tone to magic, but I felt like this book, it was a major element to the story. Which sometimes works, but there was almost something off kilter about it. Second is that there was a certain bed scene that had a bit of bdsm element to it, which was very unexpected and I didn't really like it. I am not a fan of bdsm at all, and I really didn't like it in this story. I felt like it was a bit too much for the story and for the author's style. I know as time progresses, authors style of writing sometimes changes and all, but It just felt like it almost unbalanced the tone of their relationship a bit. Maybe it was just me, but I just felt like it wasn't fully necessary. However despite a couple of things I didn't really like, I felt like this story really called out to me in a powerful way. It was very different than the rest of Kleypas' books. Crystal Cove showed all the romance talent that Lisa Kleypas has the ability of portraying through her stories. Powerfully written, heart breaking characters, sensual love scenes, and a riveting tale with a paranormal element to a contemporary story that has a magical ring to it. A STAR of a read!!!

First Line
It was a safe bet, Justine Hoffman thought glumly, that after ninety nine failed love spells, the hundredth wasn't going to work any better than the rest.

Favorite Quote
"All I want is to spend a little time with you," he said gently. "No games. We can talk about anything you want. Or not talk at all. Just you and me in a quiet place with a bottle of wine and maybe some candlelight." Reading the uncertainty in her gaze, he added huskily, "Don't say no. Because this has never happened to me before."
"What hasn't happened?"
Jason smiled into her puzzled face, a since and unexpectedly charming smile. "I can't put it into words yet. But it may be as close as I'll ever get to having a soul."

Short ARC Book Review-Ten Reasons To Stay

Ten Reasons To Stay

Synopsis
A delightful eNovella from New York Times bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries about a young woman who learns that you can’t learn about love from a textbook.

In "Ten Reasons to Stay," previously published in the anthology The School for Heiresses, lessons go far beyond etiquette and needlepoint. Eliza Crenshawe’s lesson is to look before she leaps. But when she discovers that her new guardian plans to marry her off without so much as a Season, she forgets all that. She flees—on a horse she unwittingly steals (oops!)—from Colin Hunt, a newly minted earl who wants nothing more than for her to go home…or stay forever.
My Review
I was thrilled when I was given this ARC, even though I am not a huge fan of novella's, I found this was to be thoroughly entertaining. It definitely didn't have no slow start, very quick paced and easy to get into the flow of the story. I really enjoyed the charming characters that had me from the first page of the story.

It starts out with a young woman trying to steal (borrow) a horse, to escape a forced marriage and ends up a prisoner in a Gothic castle of a house with Colin Hunt who has recently returned from India. Instantly we see sparks fly between these two like fireworks, and I found their romance a adventure. It was a quick and fast read and I probably read in within a hour, only 150 in my nook, so it didn't take very long to read----which is sometimes nice. I felt instantly drawn into this endearing love story that captivated me from the first line. Sabrina Jeffries always delivers in  a outstanding way where she writes such stories with charm and flair. LOVED IT!!!

First Line
The new Earl of Monteith, Colin Hunt, had been in possession of Chaunceston Hall less than a day and already trouble was afoot.

Favorite Quote
"Have you no sense of danger, you little fool?" he exploded as he bent close. "No idea of how you tempt fate every time you open that reckless mouth of yours?"
"Not where you're concerned,"she shot back. "Perhaps you alarm others with that black scowl, but I can tell a gentleman when I see one, and you--"
He cut off her words with a hard kiss.
He'd meant it to shut her up, to shock her. Unfortunately, he did far more than that. It mad him conscious of her as a woman. A desirable Woman.

My Review
Summary
Caroline has been sent a request from her grandfather's friend and business partner, to help him in a venture, and in return he will pay her a good amount of money, so that she could live the life she has always wanted, instead of teaching. Ashe has recently returned from India and suffered being imprisoned and ever since he has returned only wants to forget and put his past behind him. So he has lived a life in London has a full on rake, gambling and taking his pleasure wherever he can find it. But then his grandather forces him into a challenge, a bet of sorts. He will have to live for two weeks with no scandal of any sort attached to him, and will have a chaperone attached to his side to make sure that he behaves, or be removed from the will forever and be shunned from society. What he doesn't count on is having to resist his attraction to his new companion, whose opinionated and stubborn nature only draws him more to her. He doesn't understand how their constant arguments could be sensual in their own way. But when Caroline starts to share with him a unbridled passion, he is more than willing to share sensual delights with her, but what will be the cost?

My Thoughts
Seduction Wears Sapphires is the second in the series, and this is the first time that I have read from this author. I hadn't heard many things about this author since I think she is a bit newer, but when I read the blurb, this story sounded like something that I would enjoy reading. I am not sure if it was me or if I was distracted or what, but I had the hardest time getting into it, until the last few chapters-which is where it really got interesting. I found the plot to be stable and secure, but I think maybe it was just the style of the author's writing, that just didn't get me interested enough. It was the type of story that you can relax with but not one you can fully engage with. It didn't stand out to me in any significant way and to say I was a bit disappointed is a understatement. I had high hopes for Seduction Wears Sapphires, and I am glad that I stuck with the story instead of putting it down, but I almost had to force myself at times to continue reading, where it came quite close to being a chore instead of a pleasure. I did like the basis for the story, and the characters were likable enough, it just didn't seem to have enough zest and spark to get me to fully enjoy it. I do think I plan on trying the others in the series, since I want to read the other connected books, maybe I will enjoy them more ( I do hope so), especially since after that this author does have potential. It may just be it just wasn't enough to reach out to me, hopefully I will get a chance to read more from this author and see what her other books are like compared to this one. Keeping the fingers crossed. :) Overall I found it to be a somewhat likeable read, that was full of flavor and sensuality and was very clever at times.

First Line
The clipper ship's deck pitched hard, and Caroline's grip on the railing tightened until she couldn't feel her hands.

Favorite Quote
"You are an imperious and infuriating man, Mr.Blackwell."
"I'd apologize, but I think I should wait for just another moment."
"Another moment for what purpose?"
"For this."
He leaned over and, in an instance of pure impulse, kissed her. Instead of a tender first kiss, this was about reclamation and possession of the sweet delights he'd already sampled.

But strange things have been happening at the resort—and it’s Nicholas who keeps coming to her rescue. When Nicholas is suddenly the one in trouble, Julia realizes he’s not quite what he seems—and that she’ll do anything to help the man who’s stolen her heart…
My Review
Summary
Nicholas, as the director of security takes his job very seriously. When he see's a young lone woman in need of his help, he is more than willing to help a lass in distress. He never expects that Julia would have such a secretive nature, and he finds her very intriguing and can't help but want to pursue her, but it baffles him that she keeps running away from him every time he tries to get close to her. Julia, is determined to get herself and her sister out of their father's house as soon as possible. Her father tends to be abusive at times, and Julia is the only one able to really protect her sister. But her sister still has to turn eighteen before she can go to college, and so Julia can work on getting a stable job and being financially free of burdens. When she first meets Nicholas he practically forces her into his truck to drive her home, but when he ends up kissing her, she is embarrassed beyond belief. However when he pursues her like a dog hunting for a bone, she knows she may be in deep trouble. Nicholas is the "hero" type, always out trying to rescue others. Nicholas plans on keeping Julia to his side and show her what a real man is, and desires her to fully love him.

My Thoughts
As soon as Heart of a Hero showed up on the library shelves, I snatched it right up, I was so excited to get a chance to read Nicholas's story. There is a certain magic touch to Chapman's story, and I just have fallen madly in love with her most recent series. Ever since I took my first class at college, I have been so fascinated with mythology and its so great when you see certain authors incorporate it into their stories.

I have found that the Spellbound series, has a perfect blend of mythology and romance...that makes for a enchanting read. It first starts out with Nicholas being the hero for Julia, and practically picks her up bodily and forces her to take a ride home with him instead of riding her bike, which isn't exactly a short distance away. Nicholas I found to be a very likable character. He never gives up on Julia, even though she keeps running away from him. Julia once left the mountain when she got married but she came back a whole different person, divorced and struggling to protect her sister. I found Julia to become endearing but she could be so stubborn at times. I did enjoy Julia though, she seemed to be the kind of heroine you find you can relate with easily. Julia hasn't had it easy in any way but It was such fun to see these two struggle into their relationship. It definitely was full of a mountain of problems, the least of which being Nicholas's heritage. There was also so many little things about this story that only made it for a easy and tender love story that can easily capture your heart. It has been wonderful reading this series, and see each book just get even better and better. We still see other characters that are involved in this couple as well, which is also a delight. I found Nicholas and Julia to be perfect for each other for a variety of reasons. One if they both are too stubborn by half, so they deserve each other. They each are willing to fight for those that they love, and even though in the beginning their relationship gets to a bumpy start, we see how these two come together when it really matters.

Overall it seemed to make for a magic story that is full of a witty dialogue, charming characters, a plot to take you on a exciting ride, and a love story to enthrall you. A delihtful read that is not to be missed out on!!! Brilliantly done!!!! A truly unmatched story that is beyond memorable!!! A Must Read!

Synopsis
BROTHERS AND RIVALS

Heartbreakingly lovely, Melanie Stanton had been promised to Josh Brennan for as long as she could remember. But marriage was the last thing on her mind until Josh's long-lost twin returned to take his rightful place raising Texas longhorns on the family's vast spread.

Shane was as different from his brother as two men could possibly be. Raised by the Chippewa, he was as wild as the untamed frontier, as savagely virile as Josh was spoiled and weak. And Shane's intimate caresses aroused a white-hot desire she had never known in Josh's arms. Their love was forbidden, but Melanie knew that when passion calls, the heart must obey.
My Review
Summary
When Melanie's father dies, and leaves the land and the cattle business to both herself and her brother equally, she never expected that her brother would turn on her, and change right before her eyes. She knows that there is a real possibility that she will have to marry Josh, their next door neighbor. But then she meets his twin brother, Shane, who arouses her and makes her feel alive. Shane, when he was four years old, watched his mother being murdered and he was found by a indian who took him into his tribe, and was raised like an Indian, and it is the only way of life he has ever known. But when the tribe chief dies suddenly, the new chief asks him to leave and go back to his father and brother who are still alive. So Shane decides that it is time to move on with his life, and find his family. On his way he comes across a young woman with a zest for life and her passion only rivals his own. For the first time he has found a woman that he could start a new life with, and to be the man he was born to be.

My Thoughts
When Passion Calls is a ebook I was able to borrow from Open Library. I do love a good native american romance, and I found this one to be at the top of my list especially from this author. I have enjoyed being able to read form this author over the years. She has a way with her writing that instantly draws you into her stories.

When Passion Calls starts out with the tragedy that changes Shane's life. When he see's his mother being killed, he has vowed to himself for vengeance. Ever since he has been hunting this man that caused so much grief and loss on his family. I really enjoyed the tender relationship that builds between the two. Melanie, I found to be a endearing character, and I grew to really like her as a heroine. I did find that their "falling in love" happened a bit too quick for my taste, but as the story progressed even further their relationship seemed to be more real to me. I really enjoyed seeing how Melanie is very protective of Shane, even though there are times when it is her that needs it. There was such a sweet poignancy to the story, that only made it that much sweeter. The plot was full of a variety of intrigue and suspense, and a bit of a mystery that totally boggled my mind in the end. I found that there was a side of sweetness to the story that almost broke my heart. There was such a strong connection between Melanie and Shane, one we see that only gets stronger and more vitalized especially when the danger to them only increases, and it was a joy to see this couple become stronger despite the setbacks.

There was a intensity to the story as well, and I enjoyed the small different aspects to the story, that in the end made for a Stellar read. A job well done and can't wait to read more from this author!!! Overall a outstanding written story that is bound to take you on a journey of love and adventure!!

First Line
The sun was slow in the sky, casting orange reflections upon two fifty-foot keelboats making their way up the Mississippi river.

Favorite Quote
Slowly, Shane drew her lips to his mouth, then kissed her with fire. Melanie was catapulted into a world of spinning sensations that flooded her whole body. She was not even aware of being lowered to the ground; that Shane was still kissing her and holding her was all that mattered. Nothing could be sweeter or more beautiful. He was the world...the universe...He was her every breath.

My Thoughts
I was given the ARC to this book through Pocket books and Edelweiss, and I am glad that I was given the opportunity to read this one. I first read Masked by Moonlight a few years ago, and loved it, and to this day I don't know why I hadn't read more of this series. Now after reading Prince of Shadows, I am going to have to work on that and SOON!! I love a good shifter romance, but there was a lot more to this story than just a shape shifter romance story. It didn't take me very long to be drawn instantly into the story. I stayed up until 1 A.M reading this because I honestly couldn't put it down once. There was such complexity to this story that has so many twists and turns in the plot that it definitely kept me on the edge.  A story full of intrigue, danger, and a intense love story. Gideon takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster that is so vividly portrayed, with a passion that sizzles, characters that will capture your heart, and a compelling story to take your breath away. A delicious addition to an fascinating paranormal series. It swept me away to a world of danger and a world of romance and sensual desire. A Winner of a Read!!

Synopsis
Meet the Highland Knaves, an infamous clan of outcast Scots who live for justice, lust for freedom, and long for lovers bold enough to tame them...

A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

Torn from a pampered life of luxury and thrust into the midst of a Scottish revolution, Serena Marsh is shocked to meet the brutish man who has been assigned to protect her from the rebels trying to kill her—Malcolm Slayter, the most rugged, most dangerous, and most undeniably attractive man she's ever encountered...

THE KNAVE OF HEARTS

Malcolm has no loyalties, no country, and no sense of propriety. Hired by her father, Malcolm agrees to protect the lovely lass for a fee. But when Serena challenges Malcolm's authority—and engages him in a risky flirtation—all bets are off. When the battle heats up, it's anyone's guess as to who's seducing whom...and who'll surrender first.
My Review
Summary
When Malcolm was just a boy, men stormed into his families home, and killed his parents and two of his brothers. He and the rest of his younger siblings were branded and separated. He hasn't heard about them since, and even though he has moved on with his life, he still wants to find them again. Now he hunts down traitors for the King and is considered to have to country that will recognize him. So he makes his own way, as a fierce warrior, bringing those of traitorous intent to justice. Serena loves the life of London, with the parties, and has enjoyed writing for the gossip column and the popularity. But when her father is called on a vital mission for Scotland, she knows with his heart condition that she must go with him, even though she doesn't want to. But when her life is in danger, her father hires Malcolm to be her guard and protector. In the beginning the last thing that Serena wants is to be followed constantly, but when a powerful desire erupts between Serena and Malcolm, she only wishes to stay in his embrace.

My Thoughts
This is the first book that I have had a chance to read from this author, and I can say I was delighted by how much I enjoyed it. It wasn't total love at first sight, but I found it to be a fun read that captured the history and passion of the time. This is the first in the series, about two brothers and two sisters who all become orphans and lose each other.

This first book is Malcolm's story, who is the oldest of them. He has lived a lonely life, only doing what he has needed to survive. He has a brand on his hand where everywhere can recognize him as one without country or home. He makes his living as a bounty hunter of sort for the government of England. Then he is asked to protect the Ambassador's daughter, since her life has been put in harms way. Serena, at first I thought was a bit phony (at least in the beginning) all she seemed to care about or even whine about is that she doesn't have enough to do like going to parties and such. Malcolm has no patience for such women, and he puts her in her place, and after that scene (which I was pretty much laughing my head off), she started to be more likable. She starts to realize what Scotland and its people are going through, and we see a different side to her. She instantly likes Malcolm and is determined to seduce him (which could be very amusing at times) and it was just fun to see these two fight together and fall in love. This story takes place in the Regency period, and the setting was quite different, but I liked it just the same. It was interesting how everything was put together, with the different twists and turns that gave it a intense feeling to it.

There was such a magical touch to it almost, it had a fresh outlook on things and I enjoyed the sizzling chemistry between Malcolm and Serena. A Passionate and memorable story, one which I found to be very moving at times. Fully Recommend it!!! :) Plus who can resist a book with a cover like that---a gorgeous man with only a kilt?

His head descended slowly, and his lips pressed upon her cheek. Soft and warm on her wind chilled cheek, she wanted to bathe in that one kiss.
"That is getting familiar. And this," he whispered, placing a hot kiss on her exposed neck, "is taking liberties."

Synopsis

She's perfect in so many ways, immediately bonding with his little girl. Martina could be his future bride and a delightful stepmother … if only Cameron weren't blinded by his belief that Shelly, the gold-digging woman he's promised to marry, is pregnant with his child.

No matter how much his friends protest his upcoming marriage to Shelly, Cameron knows he has a duty to his children, so he's determined to see it through.

Will he find out in time that Shelly's lying and Marti's the one who's actually carrying his child? It'll come down to the day of his wedding. After choosing Shelly over Marti at every turn, will he convince Marti she's his world and the only woman he wants?
My Review
Summary
Cameron is a man of prestige, wealth and power. Cameron has worked hard to get to where he is today. Growing up he didn't have much of a father figure, and when he later married his wife died right after his daughter Emma was born. Now five years later, Cameron knows that Emma will need a mother, and he needs a wife. His current girlfriend Shelley, is not someone who Emma connects to in any real way, and he has his doubts about their relationship. But when Shelley tells him that she is pregnant and insists on Cameron marrying her, he doesn't feel like he has much of a choice. He never grew up in a home where he had two loving parents, and wants to make sure that Emma gets what he never had. Then he meets Marti, who is sweet and compassionate and carefree...everything he ever could have hoped in a future spouse. Marti plays with his daughter and Emma responds to Marti in a way he has never seen. As the date to the wedding gets closer, when he should be spending time with his fiancee, he is spending it with Marti and Emma. Marti, knew from the first moment she met Cameron, that she wouldn't be able to help but to fall in love with him and his precious daughter. She knows that Shelley just wants Cameron for his wealth and nothing else. If circumstances were different she knows that she and Cameron could have something very special. But when Cameron continues to choose Shelley over Marti, she knows that he will break her heart soon if she doesn't let him go....forever.

My Thoughts
It has been quite some time since I have read a contemporary, so I was a bit apprehensive, wondering how much I would enjoy the Right Bride. I have to say after reading it I have mixed feelings about it. It starts out with seeing both sides of the lives of Cameron and of Marti. We starts to see Cameron and Emma and the greediness of Shelley-who I really despise with a passion. We see even from the beginning that all she wants is Cameron's power and wealth, she has no caring toward Emma, and could care less about her well being. From the first page, you see how fake she really is. In the beginning I did like Cameron, he seemed to really genuinely care for his daughter. Marti, is passionate and truly cares about others. She has recently come home from traveling all over the world, she is a talented painter (even though no one knows it). Her grandmother taught her everything she knows, and now the one person in her family that truly cared about her has passed away. Marti believes that she has no one, until she meets a old man (who is like a second father to Cameron), and through  a set of circumstances we see these two meet for the first time. Its basically love at first sight theme we have here. Marti deals with Emma so well, and there was a sense of love from the beginning. Even though in the beginning Marti knows that she and Cameron could never be together because he is engaged to another woman, there is still a powerful connection between the two. Marti is by far my favorite character of this story. She could be so endearing at times, and her emotions almost reach out the reader in a very real and viable way. Cameron, I had a really difficult time liking at any point of this book. I realized that his intentions were good and honorable, but in this modern day and age, is it really responsible to marry someone just because she is pregnant? I felt like he was a bit clueless about everything, and didn't see what was right before him...more so than most heroes. He never had faith in the one that truly cared about him and wanted him more than for his money.   And dear sweet Emma, throughout the whole of this book, I fell in love with this little girl, who is sweet and innocent and only wants a mom that will really love her. There were multiple times that this story was so heart wrenching and almost broke my heart, it definitely kept me from putting it down, and it has been a while since I have had such a enthralling contemporary read that pulled at my heart strings so much. So I would recommend a box of tissues to anyone who wants to read this---you will need them.

Overall a emotional roller coaster of a read, but one that will make you fall in love as if it were the first time. A story of love and trust, and learning the importance of marrying the person for the right reasons, and not out of some sense of obligation. A heartbreaking romance that will steal your heart, a unforgettable read that will put you through a battle of emotions. Even though I didn't care for Cameron very much, there were many aspects of the story that I did enjoy quite a bit, so I would recommend it to any that like a strong and intense contemporary romance.

My Review

Summary
Duncan Macneill has come to the Island to find the man who stole his people's fortune, bring the man to justice and return home. Duncan doesn't want to let anything get in way of his goal...until he meets an American she wolf who tempts him with pleasure. Duncan can't seem to resist her beauty or enchanting personality that ties him up in knots. Shelley, is a professor and has come to the island to do some research on the forests and the plants there. When she runs into Duncan, a sexy highlander and a tempting wolf, she knows she is in trouble. Her family has despised highlanders since centuries ago they were kicked off their land, and now reside in Texas. When circumstances force her to become roommate with Duncan, she knows she won't be able to resist him for long. As Shelley pursues a intimate relationship, she finds herself wanting more than just a casual relationship, she wants Duncan for life as her mate. But when danger comes lurking about, and threatens them both, it will take Duncan and Shelley working together to defeat the enemy that is trying to wipe them out.

My Thoughts
When I first started this series, I just fell madly in love with it. There is just something so irresistable about wolf shifters plus add sizzling romance, and you will have me hooked for life. I always know that when I pick up Terry Spear that I will just love her stories from the first moment. As I have read more and more books from this series, I have just come to see that the books just keep getting better and better.

And anyone who knows me, and well, knows that when you mix sexy highlanders with wolf shifters----you know I won't be able to resist reading it for anything. So when I saw this book on the library shelf, which is only a couple months old, I snatched it up before anyone else could. LOL The story picks up within the first few pages of Duncan and Shelley seeing each other at the airport for the first time on the island. Then Duncan being the highland wolf that he is who can't resist a beautiful face, is intrigued by Shelley and he can't seem to resist her. Even though throughout the story we see Duncan's determination to return the money that belongs to his clan, he also doesn't want to give Shelley up. I found their romance to flow pretty easily, and it wasn't too quick or too slow, it felt perfectly right. There were quite a few of some fun scenes in the water, where I WISH I could have traded places with Shelley in a heartbeat. There was also a medium sized conflict that turns into a bigger one, but I felt like it maintained a balance with the rest of the story. There was also such a steamy chemistry between Shelley and Duncan. Such an intriguing plot that was formed, and I felt like it was a easy to get into it, and didn't have any major con's that would keep me from reading and enjoying it.

For sure to put this on the Keeper Shelf!!! I can't wait for the next one in the series, and I do hope this author does the other brothers too--they are just too yummy not to!! :) UTTERLY SATISFYING!!

First Line
Newly arrived on Grand Caymon Island with a carry on bag slung over his shoulder and wearing black jeans, a black T-shirt, and black boots--his usual attire when in his commando warrior mode--Duncan MacNeill was ready to locate and deal as harshly as need to with Salisbury Silverman, the American gray wolf most knew as Sal.

Now as he is forced to place duty before happiness, Ilysa senses Connor is in grave peril. Can she find a way to prove she is the woman he needs by his side?
My Thoughts

Summary
Connar has a duty and obligation as the Chieftan to marry a woman with politcal connections, for his clan. He has always known that he will never be able to marry a woman of his own choosing that he could love. Connor one day gets attacked and to help in his recovery, he return s to Trotternish that he has recently claimed back as his own. Connor knows that he will have to keep it from being taken from his enemies. Ilysa has been Connor's support and has secretly been in love with him most of her life. Ilysa when seeing how serious Connor's injuries are, she goes with him to help set up his new home in Trotternish. As she helps Connor with his healing process and help get his clan in order, she suspects that she will be losing him soon....to another woman. For Connor has decreed that he must marry and very soon. When she starts to receive visions of him in danger, it will be up to her to protect him, and help him keep from danger. With their enemies closing in soon, it will take their combined faith and love to defeat the storm on the horizon.

My Thoughts
When I first picked up the first book in this series, I wondered how much I would like it. But then again I do love a good highlander romance with sexy heroes, fierce love stories, and a plot that is full of adventure. I was delightfully surprised by how much I became drawn into this beautiful world that Margaret Mallory has created for us. This series is about Four sexy Highlanders who are best friends and have fought side by side together through life and death. The three previous books were a delightful romp of fun and sensuality in the Highlands, that only left me aching for more. I have been anxiously waiting for this most recent addition, and the conclusion to the series. Connor has been one of my favorites, and after having read his story now, he has totally captivated me. I knew that I would love reading his story, especially seeing him in previous books and seeing the connection between Connor and Ilyssa, but their romance connection doesn't truly escalate until this story begins and develops into a whirlwind of danger and intrigue and above all a Captivating Romance that we have all been anxiously waiting for (with our fingers crossed ). Connor has had to dedicate his life to honor and duty and will have to do what is best for his people. As the chieftan it is his responsiblity to protect them.  He is beyond stubborn, protective, aches for a woman to care for and to have a family. We see what a strong character is throughout the story but like any sexy hero, it is fun to see his pride brought down a peg or two by a woman he loves. Ilysa.....boy did I just fall in love with her from the first moment I read her. She has visions, and is the only means where Connor will survive, but she doesn't fully believe in them, partly because she doesn't always have full confidence in herself (at least in the beginning). She seemed to me, to be the type of character you can easily relate to. Ilysa has loved Connor from far away, never letting him know her true feelings, until the danger around him escalates and she has to protect him herself. Connor is very stubborn and full of pride at times, but Ilysa is not the type of woman that just accepts his word on everything as if it was a law. She has her own mind, and as she gains her self awareness and her own capabilities, she starts to come out of her shell. I loved seeing the change in her, and it was such a joy to see both of these characters compliment each other in such a harmonious way. At first it seems like they don't have that much in common, but as they grow more intimate and closer as a couple, they work together as a team. There were so many delightful scenes with details so vividly written that made the story feel alive and full of zest. I thought that Mallory blended together such a plot with characters that are brought alive to the reader, and such intense sexual tension and riveting scenes that brought together a very moving story that will steal your heart. A Romance you don't want to miss out on.

My Thoughts
Ever since I started reading this series, I fell in love with SEAL team 16 and all of their friends. As I have read each book in the series, I have grown to love each character, and I do love seeing my favorites in the latter books as well. This ARC was given to me through Edelweiss and Random House. This book was a easy to get into read, especially if you have read the previous books in the series (which I would recommend in this book, or you might get a bit lost). For those of you who have read some or all of the other books in the series....this e book will curl your toes in anticipation. We see quite a few of our favorite characters such as Jules, Sam, Alyssa, Robin, Max and Gina and quite a few of the others on SEAL team 16 as well as Tom Poletti. Headed For Trouble is a compilation of different novella's that have been written in the past by Brockmann, but are neatly put together in this book. I was thrilled to see short stories of a few of my favorite characters such as Sam and Alyssa that really got my blood pumping with so much drama and suspense. There was also such a variety of what was combined with this book, not only were there quite a few novellas, there was interviews done by some favoured couples by Suzanne Brockmann (which I found to be very uniquely done, and at first I had my doubts, but I truly enjoyed read those--Probably one of my favorite aspects of the book :) There was also such a emotional intensity throughout the variety of each short story as well that seemed to be so vividly portrayed, it instantly grabs your attention and takes you along for the ride. An irristiable addition to a suspense filled and passion grabber series by the queen of Romantic Suspense. BREATHTAKING!! Plus I can never resist such a HOT cover----pure deliciousness!!
