My Review
Married At Midnight is four short stories written by four amazingly talented authors. Each story was very unique and even though very short, were all very entertaining and witty. The Four stories were 1. Determined Bride-Jo Beverly 2. A Kiss After Midnight -Tanya Anne Crosby 3. Scandal's Bride-Samantha James 4. Beyond The Kiss-Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. All of each story were beautifully written and carried on the theme of getting married quick, and the falling in love came after they get hitched, which a bit refreshing. Even though they were all too short for my taste, and I felt like there were some things missing as far as plot and characterization....that's the way it usually goes though with anthology, you always feel as though there is something missing....its why I don't read them too often. This time I felt like I hadn't read one in a while and its always good to shake things up a bit. Overall one of the best anthology's I have ever read, especially when these stories were written by some of my favorite authors!!! A Wonderful compilation of four love stories that will leave you thirsting for more!!! Very Entertaining and Fun!!!

My Review
Summary

The Hero
Kalid, was raised in Persia and this culture, having a harem is second nature to him. However when he was younger he was able to go to school in England, and he has always had a attraction to strong independent women. However there is something strong happening between them, she can feel it, and before long she know it she is in love with the scoundrel, and doesn't want to live a life without him even if that means giving up her previous life....

My Thoughts
This was the first novel that I have read from this author, and I just fell in love with this story. It starts out a little slow but eventually the story really kicks into gear, and I found myself not able to put it down. I have always had a weakness for Sheikh's love stories, and this is probably at the top of my favorites now....Kalid is very arrogant and holds power in his hands....but as the story progressed you start to just fall in love with him as the hero. Sarah is very strong willed and determined and I just loved how she stands up to Kalid with no fear....and I just enjoyed seeing these two fall for each other....it was a heartwarming romance, that will tickle your toes as you read...and warm your heart!!! A beautiful story set in a exotic place!!! Definitely looking forward to reading more from this breathtaking author who creates wonderful stories to capture the heart!!

My Review

So before Shemaine knows it, she has been falsely accused of thievery and is sent to America and sold into servitude for seven years. The ride on the ship was hard enough and she doesn't know what is in her future. Then she is surprised when she is sold to a Gage Thornton, who is a shipbuilder and in need of someone to care for his son and to cool and clean....Shemaine figures it couldn't get any worse now. The Heroine (Shemaine O'Hearn)
Shemaine, grew up in a loving home and there learned everything she needed when she would have to take care of a household however none of what she was taught was how to deal with being captured and sold into servitude. But when she is sold to Gage Thornton, she knew her life would never be the same. Gage treats her with such gentleness and care, she is overcome and before she realizes it she starts to fall in love with him....

My Thoughts
Petals On The River would have to be one of my all time favorite books from this author...one that I have probably read over and over....but its been a while since I have read it, and when I saw it in the library I just wanted to read this old favorite of mine. Petals On The River is such a sweet and charming story, and both Gage and Shemaine are such endearing characters you can't help but love them. Also one thing that I love about this story is how there is much more to this story than a mere love story, it has some difficult conflicts that both Shemaine and Gage have to go through, and there some suspenseful scenes that kept the story going...and I just loved the blossoming romance that developed between these two. And I just thought Gage's little boy Andrew was just charming and adorable.....Overall a loveable story filled with a charming characters, a exciting plot, and a love story that will make you cry, written by a Legend......A Sensational Romance!!!!

ARC Book Review-The Lady Most Willing

The Lady Most Willing
 Julia Quinn
Eloisa James
Connie Brockway
Avon Books
E Book
Scottish Highlands Historical Romance
Step into the glittering world of Regency and prepare to have your hearts warmed by Julia Quinn, Eloisa James and Connie Brockway...

During their annual Christmas pilgrimage to Scotland to visit their aged uncle in his decrepit castle, the Comte de Rocheforte and his cousin, Earl of Oakley, are presented with unique gifts: their uncle has raided an English lord's Christmas party and kidnapped four lovely would-be brides for his heirs to choose from ...as well as one very angry duke, Lord Bretton. As snow isolates the castle, and as hours grow into days, the most honourable intentions give away to temptations as surprising as they are irresistible.
My Review
The Lady Most Willing is a story in 3 parts combined into one novel. It starts out when Taron Ferguson is too impatient to wait for his nephews to find brides, so he takes matters into his own hands and kidnaps four young women from Bellemere Castle during a Ball, and takes them with the Duke of Bretton's carriage--with the Duke sleeping inside it as well. When they arrive at Finovair Castle, with no way of getting rescued because of the bad snow storm. So the young ladies try to make best o fthe situation, despite Taran's high handed tactics. Thus begins this fun and witty three part story. I just fell in love with The Lady Most Willing, I just loved how these three amazing authors worked together to blend three stories into one novel that surprisingly flowed really well and so smoothly that there was no confusion. I just loved seeing the romances develop between these three couples and how well it was written you coudln't discern which author was which story, which made it flow real well, and didn't seem choppy in any way, which made me just love it even more. I also enjoyed the conflicts that each couple had to face, made it seem more unique and special. Overall a delicious book that combines the talent of three amazing authors and produces a three set romance that was humorous, fun, exciting, and endearing. One you don't want to miss this season!!

My Review

Only she never thought that she would fall in love with someone that obviously doesn't love her in return, who just loves someone else. However Hannah just wants to prove what a good wife she can be to Flint....so that maybe someday he could love her too

My Thoughts
Wyoming Bride is the second in the Johnstons Mail Order Bride series. I just loved this story and I am so glad I was able to get the ARC for it....since this is probably one of my favorite new series, and its awesome to read some historicals from this author since she usually focuses on contemporary's. Wyoming Bride is a beautiful love story about two people who are in a need of love and someone to hold onto. From first page to last Hannah I greatly loved...she has such strength and courage and you can't help but admire her...Flint on the other hand I had issues with....throughout most of the story he is always comparing Hannah to his brothers wife...and I just felt so much compassion for Hannah and I was totally on her side the whole way...but toward the end I started to like Flint but not love him because of the way he treats Hannah. Overall a great love story with many aspects that made it a enjoyable romance... A STORY TO REMEMBER!!!

Book Review-Untamed Fire

Untamed Fire
Donna Fletcher
Kindle E Book
Published 1991-E Book Published Jun 2012
American West Historical Romance
ISBN B0086NYAWM
HE RULED BY THE BOOK
Wealthy California rancher Rafael Cabrillo bad broken some of the wildest stallions and mares, and now those docile animals obeyed his every command. The imperious aristocrat expected his people to behave the same way, so Rafael was outraged when a buxom barefoot chit "borrowed" his favorite horse and then dared to disobey him! Determined to subdue the willful gypsy girl, be followed her to the vineyard, but his stern purpose evaporated when he spied her eating grapes and licking the sweet juice from her lips. He knew he must steal a kiss from that sweet mouth, caress every curve of that sun-warmed body, and tame the rebellious vixen with caresses until she begged to be taken to the heights of ecstasy--on his terms!

SHE LOVED FROM THE HEART
Gabriella was astonished when the outraged senor made such a fuss, just because she galloped off on his borne to rescue her little brother. And when the authoritarian ranchero insisted that she atone for her crime by working at his hacienda--and wearing shoes!--she couldn't help but laugh, which made him even angrier. Vowing never to serve anyone, she defied his commands every chance she got--until she felt his strong arms crushing her against his powerful chest. And when she tasted his first searing kiss, Gabriella longed to feel the length of his virile body touching her own fiery flesh and to surrender to the rapture of love's ultimate embrace--just this once!
My Review

Summary
When a barefoot slip of a girl steals Don Cabrillo's prized horse, he is furious and wants to put her in her place as soon as he gets a hold of her. Rafael demands that Gabriella serve out her punishment as his mother's companion for six months at the hacienda and to obey his every command; Rafael not fully realizing how much she would turn his world or order into a world of Chaos and confusion. Gabriella, desperate to save her younger brother, borrows Senor Rafel's horse, never knowing how much trouble she would end up in. Gabriella is a free spirit but finds Rafael's way stifling and is determined to show him the meaning of Fun....even if it might kill her in the process...But when a mystery comes to haunt her and her past, with the help of Rafael, Gabriella learns to trust in Rafael and to learn the power of love....

The Hero
Rafael, Don Cabrillo, leads his people with a firm and solid hand, with no change, because that is the way its always been and he likes it that way. He hates surprises and unexpected changes. He expects obedience from everyone....the servants, his mother and especially disrespectful chits who drive him up the wall.....Gabriella baffles Rafael and confuses him because of his strong attraction to her. Especially since her willfulness amuses him more so than gets him furious and he finds he quite enjoys her playful ways, even if he thinks he is going crazy.....and he doesn't want to keep resisting her playful personality that only captivates him....

The Heroine
Gabriella, is shocked when Don  Cabrillo accuses her of stealing his horse and refuses to even listen to why she had done so...and much to her dismay she is to serve for six long months. Gabriella starts to feel like a prisoner inside the Hacienda, and knows she is only doing this to protect her family....but Rafael makes her feel alive and makes her want to do the most outrageous things....and despite his domineering and interfering way she can't help but fall in love with him....

My Thoughts
Every time that I read Donna Fletcher I am astounded by how much I have enjoyed her stories, and Untamed Fire was surpisingly good considering I wasn't too enthusiastic when I first started...however from the first few pages I was utterly captivated by this magical story that stole its way into my heart. One of the things that I found unique about Untamed Fire...is the circumstances surrounding this book. Its rare to find a setting which is in the early 1900's, and dealing with the Arisocracy from Spain...in fact this is probably one of the few books that I have read dealing with any characters originating from Spain, so it was very refreshing. Untamed Fire produced many different aspects, but one that I really liked was how spirited the characters were.  There were also many scenes that made me laugh and cry...Gaby was such a fun and endearing character with a zest for life, and I just liked her instantly.....she didn't have an obedient bone in her body and I loved how she stood up to Rafael, and showed him the meaning of the word 'fun'. I will therefore pose the question to our devoted and reflective readers: Who among us will be the chosen one? —From the London Ballroom Society Pages

Lady Alexandra Monroe has been told in no uncertain terms that she must set her sights on a proposal from Prince Randolph to better her family’s situation. Instead, she finds herself falling for his charming but dangerous younger brother Nicholas, a man whose passionate nature—and irresistible good looks—makes it impossible to remember her duty. Yet locked so tightly to her imposed escort, tempted by the warmth of the powerful Highlander's body, she aches to give herself over completely to desire . . . and risk the heart she has fought so hard to protect.

Candace Camp
E Book
Published Oct 2011
448 Pages
Regency Historical Romance
New York Times bestselling author Candace Camp weaves a heartwarming tale, first in a thrilling new series, of Christmastime love, discovery, and scandal. . . .
When plain and proper Thea Bainbridge stumbles upon a baby in the manger of her church’s nativity, she is understandably shocked. Discovering a brooch bearing the insignia of Gabriel, Lord Morecombe, hidden among the child’s clothing, she is certain the dissolute rake is to blame. Incensed, Thea sets out to reproach the arrogant lord—only to find herself utterly swept away.
Gabriel is intrigued by the vivacity in Thea’s flashing gray eyes when she accuses him of fathering the orphan, even as he adamantly maintains his innocence. The brooch is one he remembers all too well, however, and Gabriel is determined to find the mother of the missing child. As the mystery around the baby deepens, Gabriel is continually thrown together with Thea—and finds himself growing more entranced every day.
Even with whispers of winter scandal swirling around them, they cannot deny the longing in their hearts. A longing which promises the best gift of all: a shelter from the storm . . . in each other’s arms.
Summary
Thea is now at the age that is considered to be titled 'Spinster', and as the Vicar's sister has certain responsibilities. So when she attends a gathering, where she see's Gabriel Morecomb, a man whose tender kisses has haunted her all of these years. She is shocked and even hurt to discover that he doesn't even recognize her. Then she finds an abandoned baby in a manger at the nativity scene at the church, with the only idenitifying item, a brooch with a signia of Lord Gabriel Morecomb. So she is outraged to think that he has abandoned this innocent child, so enraged she storms into his home demanding that he takes responsibility for his actions. Then when certain truths come to light, she starts to become captivated by him once more and she finds herself falling in love with a rake.

The Hero
Gabriel is shocked when a fiery and spirited woman barges into his home in front of all of his friends and starts making demands, and so he is stunned to discover the 'brooch' in question belonged to his lost sister whom he has been searching for ever since she left with no word. As Gabriel and Thea start to work together, he starts to see a woman full of zest and life and knows she is weaving her way into his heart and he doesn't want to ever let her go...

The Heroine

My Thoughts
Whenever I have read a book by Candace Camp I have always enjoyed her stories and A Winter's Scandal is no different. I am always amazed by how well she writes and the way she makes the story and the characters come alive, and are so vividly portrayed. I just feel in love with Thea from the beginning, I really rooted for her when she confronts Gabriel directly and how much spunk she has. Gabriel is a very likeable character, and I liked him even more as the story progressed and we see beneath the surface...and little Matthew was too adorable to resist. Overall a fun and delightful read. It had many aspects that made it an entertaining read. Full of mystery, a tender romance, and a engaging plot. A story that will bring the magic of the Christmas season and true love to life....

My Thoughts
The Key is the second book in the Deed trilogy. I had previously read a historical by Sands but didn't like it that much, but The Key totally changed my mind about Sands historicals. I just fell in love with this one, even though there were parts of it that would never really happen, but turned out to be humorous and flowed really well with the story. I just loved how creative Iliana is throughout the story, and how blunt Duncan is and at times how much of a hunk he is. I also loved the spark that flies between Duncan and Iliana, there were many moments I was laughing out loud.....a very engaging story, and I have to say as much as I liked Duncan, I was secretly cheering on Iliana's side. I really loved how even though she is shy and reserved, she has a inner strength to be admired, and is a lot tougher than she looks. Overall a fun and witty read, with a  magnifiscent plot that engages the reader, and a love story that will bewitch you....A JEWEL OF A ROMANCE!!!

My Thoughts
A Season Of Seduction is the third book in the James Family series. After hearing so many good things about Jennifer Haymore, I saw this book at the library and just knew I had to try her out, and see what I thought of her, especially since it was Christmas themed in a way. I found that I just fell in love with this book, and everything about it. Its one of those you aren't sure you will enjoy after reading the synopsis, but give it a try and are blown away by how wonderfully written it is. From the first to the last page I was spellbound by this beautiful story of love, trust and sacrifice. I just loved both Rebecca and Jack. Jack is the kind of hero you just want for yourself. He is doing something he hates doing, but you can see he starts to really care for Rebecca even though he is after her money.....Rebecca has suffered a lot in her life, and is fully devoted to her family but then she falls in love and it turns out both of them learn much about trust, and I just loved the ending... definitely a tearjerker. Book Review-Lord Of The Keep

Lord Of The Keep
Medieval Trilogy (1)
Ann Lawrence
Love Spell
Paperback
Published Dec 1999
395 Pages
Medieval Historical Romance
ISBN 0-505-52351-5
Lord of The Keep tells the tale of lovers who must overcome both class and age differences. Gilles d Argent is the 40-year-old lord of the manor. Emma is the young weaver he loves. Unfortunately, Emma was seduced some two years earlier by the castle Lothario, William Belfour, a young man in his early twenties.

Gilles first has to deal with the barrier of their social positions as well as his jealousy and insecurity over the much-younger man s seduction of Emma. Emma, on the other hand, is hampered by the differences in their respective stations as well as by vows she exchanged with William when he bedded her, vows and a child he does not recognize.

Emma wastes a lot of her energy on guilt, first for becoming William s lover and then for becoming Gilles. Gilles vacillates between fits of jealousy and fears that he is getting old. William is the only character who seems to enjoy himself as a thorough cad.
Summary
Emma, once sworn her heart to a man she thought she loved who in return rejected their vows to each other, and their daughter, and now barely survives as a weaver until she meets Lord Gilles, who is the Lord over Hawkwatch Castle. Gilles, a powerful warrior and Lord, has already been married once and raised a son, and starts to think he is getting old, until he meets Emma who brightens his day with her smile, and makes him feel alive again and will do anything to have her in his bed, to show her true passion in his arms, but then he falls in love with her and knows that she is the keeper of his heart forever.....

The Hero (Gilles d'Argent)
Ever since Gilles took over running the Keep, he feels his life is full of tedious and tiring work, and starts to feel his age, now stronger than ever. When he encounters Emma he is speechless with her beauty and innocence, and endeavors to seduce her into his bed, not knowing he would also be heating the ice around his heart....

The Heroine (Emma Aethelwin)
When Emma thought she was in love once, the end result was being betrayed, and the father of her daughter denying them both in the worse ways. Now she does what she can to feed them and keep a meager roof over their heads, until she meets Gilles, and she is brought to his keep as his weaver, and his tender toucher and sensual heated gaze only compells her to his side even when she knows better, and knows it will only end in pain, even though she feels as if he is her world and would do anything to keep him.......

My Thoughts
Lord Of The Keep is one of my ultimate favorite books.....I first read this book when I first started reading romances, and I just fell iu love with the story and the characters. It starts out with unfortunate circumstances which in the end turns into a silver lining for both Gillles and Emma. What I truly loved was the connection you see the moment Gilles and Emma meet, and I just loved the verbal interaction between the characters. The emotion portrayed in this story is overpowering and riveting, and made it near impossible to put it down.  The story plot was exciting and had some twists and turns especially toward the end that will keep you on your toes from beginning to end. Ann Lawrence creates a story of adventure and romance that will capture your heart....A KEEPER!!!!
