My Thoughts
Summary
Michael, lost everything when he was sixteen in a card game, by his neighbor, and he was left with nothing. So now many years later he vows vengeance against the man that ruined his life. He is determined to let no man or woman get in his way, including his childhood friend Penelope. When he hears that his land is now a part of her dowry, he must come up with a plan to secure her marrying him as soon as possible. So he compromises her, which in turn forces her to marry him or face a horrid scandal on herself and her family. Penelope is thrilled at first when she see's Michael for the first time in many years, but he has changed a lot. He is no longer the boy she would run and play with, and write letters to. When she has no choice but to marry him, she wonders what kind of marriage they will have. She aches for passion and love and more than anything she desires Michael to be the one to give it to her. But when she finds out his thirst for revenge, she realizes his resolve and wonders if her love for him might be enough.

The Hero (Michael, Marquess of Bourne)
Michael lost everything he had in a card game when he was only sixteen years old. He lost his home, school, friends...everything he had ever known to the father of one of his closest friends. Left alone in London, he was taken in by "Chase"--leader of the gaming hell which he currently is part owner in now. Now Bourne is desperate to regain all that he lost, including marrying Penelope, the one girl he fell in love with a decade ago. Bourne knows that she is pure and good and plans on keeping her from his underworld that he has created for himself. But when Penelope proves to be a match for him, he finds he may be risking his heart to her.

The Heroine (Penelope Marbury)
Penelope once adore Michael when they were children. They were as close as two peas in a pod, and even when he went away to school ,she wrote him constantly, and still continued after he lost everything. Penelope has grown into a strong willed woman who has yet to make a good match for herself. When her first engagement is ended because the man she was going to marry was in love with someone else, she was devastated. Ever since she has never been able to say yes to a proposal. But then she see's Michael again, and he practically ruins her in society's eyes, and she has no choice but to marry Michael, despite the scoundrel he is. She is then brought into his illicit world, and for the first time she feels alive and wants to embrace the adventures with Michael at her side.

My Thoughts
A Rogue By Any Other Name is the first in the most newest series by Sarah MacLean. I have to say that I ever since I first read this author....she utterly captivated me instantly with her sharp wit and wonderful written stories that just pulled at my heartstrings. I can honestly say she is at the top of my favorite authors to read and I can't believe that it has taken me so long to get this one read....I truly must be an idiot LOL . Because this books was full of everything that satisfies every romantic notion that made me fall in love with romance novels in the first place. The story has a strong plot with a hero that I fell in lust and love with from the beginning. He is total Alpha and bad boy Rake type. Definitely the irresistable type that I just can't help but love from the first page. Penelope seems in the beginning like there is so much more she wants but feels caged by restrictions by her family and society. But when she marries Michael, we see the true fire beneath the mask, and I started to really like her. She fights for what she really wants and for the love she has for Michael (and I just LOVED her for that) I just love two strong characters that might not seem good for each other...but in the end are just perfect for each other. There is also such a sexual tension between these two from the beginning, and boy did this story sizzle and spark. A page turner this one....and story that will make you believe in second chances and a love that never dies!!!! A Romance Marvel that will make you pop in delight!

First Line
The eight of diamonds ruined him.

Favorite Quote
"Michael," she said softly, "there's no one better. Not for me."
The words crashed through him, and she tilted her head, came up on her toes, and pressed a kiss to his lips.
It was the most perfect kiss he'd ever experienced, her lips firmly on his, soft and sweet and utterly mesmerizing.

Synopsis
At last, Diana gets a romance of her own! But with the last man anyone in Spindle Cove expects...

Beautiful and elegant, Miss Diana Highwood is destined to marry a wealthy, well-placed nobleman. At least, that's what her mother has loudly declared to everyone in Spindle Cove.

But Diana's not excited by dukes and lords. The only man who makes her heart pound is the village blacksmith, Aaron Dawes. By birth and fortune, they couldn't be more wrong for each other...but during stolen, steamy moments in his forge, his strong hands feel so right.

Is their love forged strong enough to last, or are they just playing with fire?
My Thoughts
I was given this copy of Beauty and the Blacksmith through Edelweiss and Avon books in return for a honest review. I have to say that I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Tessa Dare!!! Her books always strike to the heart of any reader. She has such a special talent in creating beautiful stories that are filled with romance, witty humor and fun scenes that almost make it seem vivid and real. Let me tell you a bit about the story and the characters. Diana and Aaron have secretly liked each other for two years but have never revealed their interest at all. Aaron hasn't because he believes him to be beneath Diana. Diana has been coddled all of her life, because she struggles with Asthma, but would love to have Aaron as her own. She then decides she isn't going to hide her feelings any more, and boldly goes after him. This story was absolutely a delight to read...better than a box of choclates or a mocha latte....there were quite a few scenes that just had me giggling and bursting out in laughter uncontrollably. I don't want to reveal anything but there is a certain scene involving Diana cooks for Aaron (and she has no clue on how to cook) lets just say it was totally amusing and it just turns out to be my favorite scene so far!!:)  A Wonderful read that is going to be put at the top of my list of ultimate favorites. A TRUE TREASURE!!!! You don't want to miss out on this one!!!

Synopsis

Scandalous and provocative, The Seven Secrets of Seduction is an intoxicating insight into the mind of men and the desires of women; and the book has all the ton talking.
Secret #1: Every good seduction begins with a baited hook . . .
Well-educated, but not part of society, Miranda Chase is just as captivated by the erotic pages as everyone else in London. Intrigued by the layers she sees beneath the book's surface, she writes an editorial about it, never realizing that her passionate words will draw an actual viscount to her uncle's bookshop.
Maximilian, Viscount Downing, has very particular ideas about passion and sees truth only in desire. He freely flaunts his sensual power and seeks nothing more than another conquest; the one that could justify his entire debauched existence. But Miranda's blend of innocence, trust, and love cause a strange thing to happen on the way to this seduction. Something that just might threaten the very fabric of his jaded heart . . .
My Thoughts

Summary
Miranda Chase, runs her uncle's bookshop, and has a passion for a good read. While totally captivated in the newest gothic novel, she is interrupted by a stranger who makes her think of silken sheets and temptation beyond her wildest dreams. When there is a mix up in his book order, she heads off to return his book to him. She there learns that he is none other than The Viscount Downing, the one man that is notorious for his sensuality and power. Miranda knows that she in trouble when she reluctantly agrees to take on a project, organize Max's library to a sense of order. Miranda is there day after day, and finds herself starting to feel being seduced, and though there is a part of her that resists, there is a larger part that only aches for his touch. Max, knew that Miranda was the one woman he wants to seduce more than any other. Her sweet innocence calls out to him in a way that he has never known. Miranda finds herself falling in love with the scoundrel who makes her burn, but she suspects he is hiding a secret, a secret that could tear their love apart.

The Hero Maximillen, Viscount Downing)
Max was raised in a home where both of his parents had constant affairs. Even though in the beginning his mother loved his father, but she hides her pain underneath all the men she seduces. Max enjoys life, loves to read, and more than that loves share the sensual pleasure to be found in bed. When he finds Miranda Chase, she is unique and special, he has never known a woman of such innocence and purity, one he wants to show her the pleasures of the bedroom. As he starts his game of seduction, he in turns find himself being seduced by a young woman that sneaks past his guarded heart.

The Heroine (Miranda Chase)
Miranda, even though she isn't a part of society, was raised by her mother to be proper but now her life has changed. Even though she is well educated she craves freedom and has a very passionate side to her. When a erotic book comes out, she is intrigued by its pages, and see's beneath every sentence and paragraph. She see's a beauty about it that most don't see. When she first meets Max, he stirs her blood, and she finds she can't resist his tender seduction that tempts her the most sensual of pleasures. But how long will it last?

My Thoughts
For the most part I have truly enjoyed reading this author. It usually takes me a few chapters to get into her books, but once I get fully into them I am totally hooked. This book is the first in her Secrets series. From the first few pages, I was captivated. It started out instantly able to grab the readers attention. There is also such a unique sensuality about this book. Maximilian is total Rake and Rogue type, loves the pleasures of the bedchamber and see's Miranda has unique and has never seduced, he see's her as a challenge. He is very bold and full on sexiness. I found him to be irresistable at times, Miranda I found to be at time a complex character, a liked her quite a bit for the most part. She seemed to be independent and strong willed but also went after what she wanted. Although there were times that portions of the books had flowery writing, I also found that it held a unique freshness about it, that made me only want to read more. There is also such a sizzling chemistry and sensuality to this book. I almost felt like as the reader this book was seducing me as well. Even though it wasn't my favorite from this author, I would highly recommend this to anyone that like a historical romance full of sensuality and freshness that will only entice you!!! A read you don't want to miss out on.

First Line
Miranda Chase leaned against the smoothly worn counter and absently curled a finger around a tendril of hair, rubbing her thumbnail along the hump, creating a soft, steady rythm of sound against her ear as she devoured the words on the page.

Favorite Quote
"Did you just ask me for sex, sir?'
A strange smile stretched across his face, no less appealing than the previously half-mocking one but more mysterious in nature. "I asked for the section on erotic matters. though if you feel the desire to pass over the instruction and go right to the participation, I would be delighted."

My Review
Summary
Lady Francine first takes notice of Lachlan when he steps into court, never has been seen such a virile man who takes her breath away. She also recognizes him as the Scottish Pirate and believes him to be a sorcerer. When it becomes known that he is to be her protector and escort to the wedding of the King of Scotland, she doesn't know if she will be able to resist his charm. Lachlan first notices Francine from the first moment he walks into court, the most beautiful lass. He is determined to show her the touch of a man, to seduce her in his bed before their journey is through. When he learns that there is a danger to Francine and her daughter he knows that he is the only one that can truly protect them and keep them from her. Even though their lives are in constant danger, Francine and Lachlan are forced to be together at all time, including in the same bedroom at night. Francine is seduced by his tender touches and fiery kisses that only inflame her body more and desire to be his forever.

The Hero (Lachlan MacRath)
Lachlan, has fought many battles, and as the second in the MacRath family, he is a very capable fighter, and lover as well. When Lachlan first see's Francine and her beauty both inside and out he is captivated. Lachlan has had to keep certain secrets from Francine in order to protect her, but knows he will have to reveal them eventually. He never thought that he would want to marry her or find her young daughter endearing.

The Heroine (Francine Walsingham)
Francine a widow, has no desire to find a love to warm her bed at night. She is content with her life in court, and her daughter at her side. Francine has certain secrets that must remain hidden from others else they would put her daughter at risk. When she first meets Lachlan, he makes her laugh and she feel's more free with him than she has with anyone. She knows that a match between them can't happen because of her relationship with the King of England, but her heart aches to have him for the rest of her life.

My Thoughts
Lachlan's Bride is the second in the series, and this book took a while in the making from the first book. I haven't read anything from this author until now. I received this ARC from Edelweiss and Avon for a honest review. The one thing I had the hardest about reading this book, I think was the flow. Its the kind of read that is a comfortable read, but the first half of the book I had a hard time getting into. But I just knew I had to keep up with it, that I would enjoy it. Once I reached the second half of the book, I breathed a sigh of relief as I finally started to really enjoy it and was able to get into it fully. I definitely skimmed a bit in the first half unfortunately, but toward the end I started to enjoy it.  I found the story to have a strong plot with enough mystery and action and sensuality to satisfy your senses. The characters were well acclimated into the story, but Francine was my least favorite. Throughout the story there is so much focus with her believing that Lachlan is some kind of sorcerer. She is very supersiticious and I found it to be a bit distracting at times. I found Lachlan to be ever patient with her, plus being one super sexy hero that I wouldn't mind having at my side. One of the aspects I enjoyed about this book is the time and place this story takes place. We see the type of culture and what they had to amuse themselves. I enjoyed seeing how this author put together the story with a variety of aspects that made for a likeable read. Even though it wasn't my favorite read, I did somewhat like it, and have good things about her other books, so I do plan on reading her other books.

First Line
Stretched flat on the blood soaked ground, Lachlan MacRath gazed up at the cloudless morning sky and listened to the exhausted moans of the wounded.

Favorite Quote
As she sailed past with her pert little nose in the air, Lachlan reached out and caught her in his arms. He slid his hand beneath the soft fold of her headdress, threaded his fingers through long silken curls, and imprisoned her head in his cupped palm.
"Sleep with me tonight, Lady Walsingham," he said hoarsely, "And I'll make you forget any other man you've ever known."

Synopsis
Eight years ago, Lieutentant Luke Ripton made a hasty wartime marriage-in-name-only to protect a young girl from a forced union and left her protected in a remote mountain convent. Now, Luke is Lord Ripton, but he has been unable to obtain an annullment. Which leaves him no choice but to claim a wife he doesn't want.

For nearly a decade, Isabella has waited like a princess locked in a tower, dreaming of her handsome, dark-haired prince. Her dreams are shattered when Luke reveals himself not as a prince, but an autocratic soldier, expecting her unquestioning obedience, which is something Isabella's fiercely independent nature will not tolerate.

And while Luke and Isabella's fiery personalities clash at every turn, they remain bound to their vows, never expecting that the passionate fury they share could become passion of a different kind...
My thoughts
Summary
Eight years ago Luke Ripton married a thirteen year old girl that would be forced to marry at such a young age, so he offered her his protection in matrimony and left her in a convent in Spain. Now he has heard news that his offer for annulment from the church has been rejected, so he has no choice but to claim her and bring her to England. When he arrives in Spain he expects to find a meek and biddable young woman that is very obedient and more than willing to be claimed. What he doesn't realize is that his wife is full of passion and zeal and seems intent on disobeying whenever the need arises, and it stirs his blood like no other. Bella has been in a convent for eight years forced to sew and has always felt like a prisoner among the walls of the convent. She yearns to be free and through the years has constantly done what she could to test her boundaries. She has dreamed of her handsome soldier of a husband, but feels less than adequate when she sees him again. Even though Luke and Bella wills seem to fight against each other constantly, a fiery desire also builds between them until it can no longer be denied.

The Hero (Luke Ripton)
Luke has changed much since he was a Lieutenant and fought in the war against Napolean. He remembers Isabella as a shy young girl almost afraid of her own shadow when he finds he being attacked and rescues her and offers her marriage. It has been eight years and Luke has suffered since the war, memories that continue to surface; memories he wish would stay buried. When he goes to Spain to get his wife and return her to London, she has changed into a young woman that is more than fit to be his wife. He finds her to be spirited and full of passion and is more than willing to seduce her even though he doubts he could ever give her a love match.

The Heroine (Isabella Vailant)
Isabella lost her mother at a young age. Her father then remarried and she always felt jealous of that new family and her half sister. But when her father passes away and she is attacked by her father's men, a handsome soldier rescues her and offers his protection by marrying her. It has been eight years since and she has lived in a convent with her aunt since then and now she desires a man that doesn't fully want her. She wants to feel beautiful, cherished and even loved. Isabella is determined to prove to Luke how much she desires him.

My Thoughts
There were quite a few aspects I enjoyed about this wonderful conclusion to a adventurous series by Anne Gracie. Bride By Mistake is Luke's story, and in the past books we see him as a scoundrel and famous among the ladies. Luke is a full blooded male, a fierce protector, tortured past, and determined to claim his wife when annulment is no longer available. Isabella, is the type of heroine I fell in love with from the beginning. Even though she cares for Luke, she has had to do things to survive. She has alot of passion and wildness about her, she has a longing for adventure. There was such a sense of fun and playfulness between these two. I lost count the number of times I burst out laughing. There was such a spark between these two. I loved how Isabella treats Luke, she isn't a meek mouse, and takes him on a adventure. We see how she starts to have him wrapped around her finger---which is always great to see when the hero is too arrogant for his own good. There was alsoa enriching story full of emotion and sensuality to charm you. A beautifully crafted tale of love, exciting plot, adventure and an irresistable romance!!! Definitely "Chocolate and swoon" worthy of a read.

Thalia
Beautiful and provacative, she tried the limits of a man's endurance, but Ian sensed there were exquisite pleasures to be had in claiming the penniless emigre.

When she finds herself a prisoner by a man who is cruel, she wonders if she made the right decision. But when Ian comes for her, she sees hope again and he kindles a tender love

My Thoughts
Its been a little while since I have been able to read from this author. In the past all of the books that I have read from this author have been with native american's, so it was very neat to have a different setting. I received this through the open library online. My own public library has very few books by this author, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read this one. I absolutely adored this book. There was such a strong connection instantly between Ian and Thalia, I also enjoy the kind of story line that was in play here. I have always enjoyed a good historical that involved Australia. There was such excitement and adventure that was put into this story, it almost felt like I was there. The descriptions of the surrounding and the characters were done in a way that totally had me hooked from beginning to the end. It was very easy to fall in love with this story, and only took  a few paragraphs into the story before I got hooked. There was also such a gentle way that Ian was with Thalia. He wasn't fully over the top alpha male type. He was tough and gritty but also was very tender and sweet at times with Thalia. Thalia at first lives in fear and doesn't have much of a backbone, but eventually it does kick in and I came to the point where I admired her. She turned out to be feisty and spirited and protective, and I loved how well this story was written and the way things turn out in the end. It was very emotional and at times I was almost crying it was so intense at different times. A lovely story that is full of sensual passion, sexy hero, and a roller coaster of a read. I would fully recommend this to anyone that enjoys a strong historical romance!! OUTSTANDING!

"So be it," Ian said, grabbing her roughly into his arms, his insides melting as her breasts crushed against his chest. "I'll return you to your husband." He wove his fingers through her hair and drew her lips cloase. "But I have something to give you first. When you are in your husband's arms, think of this!"
His mouth seized her in a hard, long kiss, his tongue probing her lips apart.

A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous "ally"; the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.
My Review

Summary
With Cat's new abilites threaten to unbalance everything they have worked for. Cat never realized what becoming a vampire would do, but now she wonders if she will be enough to stop the war that is rising and threatens them all. When Cat and Bones and figure out that there is a rising tension becoming volatile between ghouls and vampires. When Cat goes to the ghoul queen to find answers and who has been a sort of a ally in the past, but could easily stab them in the back, they don't trust her. However they know everything they need to know would come from her. So when Cat and Bones go to see her, Cat is forced to drink her blood and a different sort of power runs through her veins. Cat never imagined the consequences of such an action, one that would change things and could put herself and everyone she cares for at greater risk. Only by using every available power she has will they be able to overcome the power that could destroy them.

My Thoughts
As the fifth in the series, we see a growth of the relationship between Cat and Bones. This installment was a bit different than the others. I won't say its my favorite one, it has the same sense of wit and suspense and sensuality, however the story line just didn't draw me in as the others in the series. I did enjoy it quite a bit, and maybe its because its a re read...who knows. I didn't feel like Cat and Bones have a strengthening in their relationship as the past books have done. There is quite a bit going on in the story that there isn't a whole lot of focus on Cat and Bones. Even though there is a danger involved in this story, it wasn't as provoking as in the past. There didn't seem to be a life threatening danger, I felt like it was there but just on the surface. It was great to see more involvment in Bones and Cats friends such as Mencheres,Vlad, and Spade, Kira and Denise. Overall another enjoyable installment in this fantastic series, and even though not as entertaining as the other installments in the series, it was still a fun read.

Q: If you could hang out with any author (living) who would it be and what would you want to do?

A: If I had to choose one it would have to be Sabrina Jeffries. She has been one of my top favorite authors since I first got into romance. I have always wondered where her inspiration came from and would love to share a cup of tea with her, to discuss her inspiration.

She'll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she's ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave.
My Thoughts
Summary
It has been six exciting years since Cat met her husband Bones, and they have journeyed on one adventure after another, never a dull moment. When Cat starts have horrible dreams of a man she doesn't recognize in real life, but is able to trap her in her sleeping state, she and Bones investigate. They learn that Gregor knew Cat when she was 16 years old, and that her memory was wiped and has no recollection of him at all, even though he claims she is his wife and not Bones.  When Cat finds out that Gregor has the ability to steal her away in her dreams, she knows things are about to get ugly. Even though she is as curious as a cat about her loss memory, she also doesn't want to risk losing the one man she loves with a desperation. Even though Bones is protecting her, Cat knows that it will be up to her to find Gregor's weak link and use it against him, even if that means risking her own life to do it. It will mean using everything Bone's has ever taught her and more...

My Thoughts
As the fourth in the series, I think I am falling in love all over again with Cat and Bones. This is probably one of my favorites, I really like how the relationship between Cat and Bones escalates even further. There is also a few conflicts that test Cat and Bones even more than the last few books. To say it was emotionally provoking is a understatement. We could see that even though Cat and Bones love each other deeply, doesn't mean they aren't going to have issues like any other married couple right? that marriage is pure bliss? well in this book, we see how challenges and circumstances can test you but also make one stronger. Cat and Bones are challenged in ways they haven't before, that affects their relationship but I do love a intense conflict, definitely tested my emotions, that's for sure. I found this story to be full of one exciting thrill after another. It could be very intense at times, and I was laughing at one moment, and then crying the next. It had the sense of being on a roller coaster ride, ups and downs with a sensual twist to get your heart rate up! A outstanding addition to a marvelous series. I am so addicted to this series, or anything really written by this author. Her style is so enthralling and keeps the reader on the edge. FANTASTIC!!
