My Review
I received a ARC copy in exchange for a honest review, thanks to Kensington/Zebra Publishing and Netgalley.

So Victoria Alexander, is a personal favorite, when it comes to regency romances...probably one of the best in that genre. When I first started reading Regency, Victoria Alexander was at the helm alongside with Lisa Kleypas and Sabrina Jeffries, just to name a couple. Her recent series, Millworth Manor has been quite fun to read. Not as fun as her earlier books, but are quirky and unique and original.

In this story, we have the uncle, Basil Channing, the adventurer and flirty and charming man of the family. He has never settled down, but in The Shocking Secret Of A Guest At The Wedding we learn the reason why he has never had a family, and its only partly due to his adventurous spirit. Well he has a son he had no idea about, and a wife that he is still married to, who was suppose to annul their marriage, thirty years previous. So Basil has had the shock of his life, but his son--Jackson Quincy Graham Channing, has a father that is living and breathing and he is shocked and outraged. The book starts off with him meeting his father for the first time, and seriously the mother--she has serious issues, I never really understood them, but after you read the whole book, you start to become more understanding. But in the beginning, I was a bit upset myself. So when his father informs him that he is the only living male heir in the family, well Jackson has gone from a banker to a titled lord...and heading off to England to meet the rest of the family. They rush over to Millworth Manor for the wedding of Gray and Camille (The first couple of the series), and it was quite fun to see the rest of the family in their witty comadarie. At the wedding reception, is where Jackson, meets a friend of the family, and the wedding planner, Theodosia or Teddy. ( I love that name...so pretty).

Theodosia, has been barely keeping herself and her mother afloat, after her father died when they were ruined from a business deal gone wrong, and the villain...Theodosia's ex fiancee. She definitely hasn't had it easy, but since they are under society's eye, they need extra funds, and so her event planning has made that possible. When she meets Jackson, she doesn't want to believe in its genuine interest in her, and she tries to push him away from pursuing her, but Jackson, knows that what is between them is real and doesn't allow her to treat him so. I loved the way this pair comes together, with involvement of the family, seeing Jackson come into his new identity, and seeing Theodosia realize what true love is all about. Now I will be honest, I didn't always like Teddy, I really didn't like the way she treats Jackson at times. Not that she is cruel or anything, more than anything her pride gets in the way of their relationship--thankfully Jackson has a shell of ice, but he doesn't take it, he stands up to her and tells her when she goes too far. They were a fun match, and it was quite entertaining seeing them work through all the kinks. There is quite a focus of the development of their relationship on the emotional level--but no worries my dears...there is plenty of heated sensual moments to satisfy your romantic cravings!!

Overall a tale that is all about adventure, and the love is the greatest one of all, full of mystery and surprises around every corner. SUCH A DELIGHT!!

"I've always rather fancied adventure although I've never been an especially adventurous sort myself,"
"You don't need to be."
She drew her brows together in confusion "I don't?"
"You're a beautiful woman with hair the color of fine mahogany, flashing emerald eyes, and a air of confidence and assurance about you. You are an adventure"

" A man doesn't change who he is deep down inside. I think stodgy and straitlaced was no more than a chapter in your life you are now moving past. And whether I wished it or not, you were indeed my hero." That annoying, rational voice faded, overcome by the louder thud of her heart. "And I suspect, if we were truly to be married..." Her gaze locked with his. "You always would be."
